Still have had mine since brand new love it never for sale,5speed,std,cummins,4x4,i baby it,most kids have thise cummin beat the snot out them.they dont know what tool is when hauling heavy equitment.
Sweet looking truck. I've always liked these first gen Ram Cummins diesel. I could do without the aftermarket tach, but the rest of the interior is perfect.
Nathan Sohm Whatever works for you. If I were to buy a Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel of this vintage, I'd keep it as original as possible. If it doesn't come from the factory with it, it shouldn't be on the truck now. The only modifications I'd want done to the truck would be to help to improve the performance of the truck.
Yeah, those dang gauges, I dont like them. They belong on a little honda, not a truck. Plus they don't even work, LOL! I plan to take them out. its a shame they put holes in (what was) a flawless dash, no cracks. The previous owner always kept it covered. For what I use the truck for, the performance is impeccable. It can tow up to 14,000 lbs and still gets 17 mpg around town. Aside from it being slower than a slug, no complaints. Current and future modifications; I opened up the exhaust, more for sound than anything. Also plan to mount some utility lights. And lastly, when the trans finally goes, my expensive plan is to swap in a NV4500 5 speed - which may never happen.
Nathan Sohm That's impressive performance. If I had an old-school Cummins Dodge Ram, I'd leave it as stock as possible, even down to the gauges. But I'd also have some things installed. Possibly, an engine exhaust brake to help keep the truck under control when descending a steep hill. I've always liked the sound of a good running diesel engine. I've known some people who complain that it's too noisy, or too rattily. I'm like "shut up! It's a diesel engine, what do you expect?" I've never known a diesel engine to not have that rattling noise.
what a beauty, and for $2500 bucks, what a steal
