  • This video will show you how I start my Westinghouse 7500W Duel Fuel generator on propane and gasoline. Starting a standby generator on Propane is different than starting a standby generator on gasoline. This procedure should work on Generac Generators, Westinghouse Generators, Craftsman Generators, Honda Generators, Yamaha Generators, as well as most other home generators

    Dude, this really got me out of a jam, thank for the gas tutorial, I didn't know the choke would fix my issue. Much love from TX.

    What’s the main breaker switch for?

    If the battery switch fails (gets wet) the pull cord won't work either. I'm stuck without a generator desperately looking for troubleshooting videos before my fish die... this is the 2nd time... wish I would have just bought a honda

    I have the same exact generator. Usually always run on propane. Never had a problem till recently. Last time I pulled it out to run for a bit, would not start. Used the electric start till the battery started running down. Tried the pull start, still nothing. But then tried the electric and it sputtered a little, but that was it. I could smell a little propane and I started to wonder if the regulator on the propane tank is clogged or something. Anybody have an ideas? I'm tempted to try gas, but if it does not start, then I might have to drain the gas out. I just like using the propane, not as messy.

    I have this one but it hasn't been used for a year. We've used it on gas. What can I do to start it again?

      sorry for the delayed response I'm sure you figured it out. But I would be hesitant of the old gas. Try to drain some of it and mix it with fresh gas. Make sure you have fuel stabilizer in the new gas. I try to run mine every few months or at least the change of seasons just to keep familiar with the engine and burn the old gas.

    Nice piece of equipment there. Mine will be coming this Friday.
    Quick question...
    Where does the choke need to be set when starting and running propane? Same place?

    • @crevideos7242
      @crevideos7242  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question. I don't use choke when running propane. The way I understand the choke if to help gasoline mix with air to atomize it to burn. propane is already a gas.

      I don't think you use the choke with propane

      I'm fairly certain that when electric starting on gasoline the choke is automatic.

    Fun fact, the pull doesn't work without a battery charge. Dumbest design.

    First time I’ve ever seen a westinghouse generator run! I didn’t think it was possible. I’ve received three units in a row from Amazon that were DOA. Wouldn’t recommend this brand to worst enemy.
