Laura Geller “Balance and Brighten” remains one of my go-to foundations even after all these years (I found her on QVC, too). I start my application with a bigger, fluffier brush, then go in with a smaller, stiffer brush (like the kind she offers with her foundations) to get the areas that need further attention. I can even get away with it as concealer on some parts of my face. BTW, I’m 73, and a makeup wearer since my teens.
Have been using LG products for many years. I use Balance &Brighten, Spackle primer, and her eyeliners. She is a fabulous educator (I watch her on QVC) and makes techniques look easy.
Yes, I have used Laura Gellers baked powder products for several years and like them very much, especially the blushes. I have used lots of different products of hers and haven't been disappointed yet. She makes a very dark eyeshadow and it you put a fine eyeliner brush in water it makes a fabulous eyeliner. The quality is really there.
Such a beautiful, soft look! I'm in love with her baked duo highlighters that combine French Vanilla and French Kiss. French Kiss has a little more glow that is soft and gorgeous on mature skin.
Lovely to see you here, Elise! I first saw you on your channel. Letting you know, I've been a Geller Gal for 3 yrs. now and I am so happy with the baked makeup. I use Clinique skin care products and the rest is LG. It blends well and lasts forever. Thanks for helping us 60+ gals!
Hi, Lili--Thanks so much for your kind words. It's lovely to hear from you. We're very fortunate to be able to access Laura Geller's products! She's really been an innovator in the world of baked makeup products.
I love Laura Geller products. It’s nice to see Laura getting some appreciation. I see even youngsters like Allie Glines put her balance and brighten in her top 3 foundations. I do concealer then use a fluffy brush to apply the balance and brighten. After that, do brows, lips and mascara and run out the door. Thanks for the great video.
I LOVE this foundation on my combination 58 yr old skin! I just wash, moisturize, put this foundation then blush, mascara, and a lipt balm and I end up with a natural, fresh everyday look!
I retired a few months back and stopped wearing the "Office Makeup". I now like a more softer no makeup makeup look and I love Laura Geller. I use the hydrating spackle, Bake Balance and Brighten lightly applied with a fluffy brush. I lightly apply bronzer and blush, since both have a highlighting effect I don't use a highlighter. I'm not a big fan of the eyeshadows so on my eyes I use the French Vanilla as a base with the bronzer in my crease and a small amount of blush to the lid. After all the make up is done I do a light set with the filter finish radiant setting powder in Universal. Her lipsticks are wonderful and I'm in love with Italian Marble Berry Banana. I have now paired down to only 8 products and have never been happier.
Thank you Margaret for demonstrating Laura Geller products and your new eyeshadow technique. I am going to try it and see if I can do as good a job as you did. You are a beautiful lady.
Great idea for the eye shadow stripe & blend. I’ll give that a try. I’ve never used Laura Geller products but now that you used them in this video I’m going to try some product. Thanks for another fun makeup video.
Your review of Laura Geller powder foundation came at the right time! 2 days ago I ordered her Spackle primer and Baked and Glow powered foundation. These products were recommended by the customer service rep after I sent a picture of my 70 year old skin. I hope they work for me as every cream/liquid foundation settles into my lines and wrinkles. Your skin looks beautiful with these products!
Margaret, I enjoyed watching you try LG makeup. It was fun. I have been a fan of LG for about 3 years, and along with Clinique skin care products, LG is the only brand I use. Thanks for letting us do our make up with you today. God bless!
Hi Margaret: I'm familiar with Laura Geller; I used to watch her on QVC a while back. The foundation looked very nice, but, I've seen prettier blushes on you. The shadow trick came out well. I don't buy her line, but, I think they're very good for mature women. All in all, you look great!TFS; take good care, and stay well. Rosemarie 💖
I just purchased all of the LG products because at 68 my skin has changed. I’m so glad to find your videos! I am really struggling with this aging process 😮.
I just started purchasing her products. I was stunned how her baked pallet kit did amazing results. I'm 76 yrs old and have been using makeup products since I was 15 years old. Love my 2nd kit and plan to buy more of her products. ❤❤❤
I'm not very good at doing my eyes with eyeshadow because the skin on my right eye folds right down over my whole eyelid, but I just love the idea of that striping of color and then blending that you did. You make doing makeup look fun and easy.
This is Paula Goins-Walters. This video just came up for me. An answer to a recent question and yes I had viewed it before. Thank you so much Margaret. You are wonderful!
I think that effect looks great, you did a good job, to be honest, at first, I didn't think it would work but I'm pleasantly surprised. Thank you for the tutorial.
Sixty-nine year old here; just bought Laura Geller Sample kit and love it. Gave up other high-end products and am using this exclusively. Thank you for your lovely video.
Just know that u r beautiful, without Ms Laura's product's an her target 2 the vintage woman gives us , that I've still got it look.girls 2 the models runway, we go thank u margerat an Ms Geller just fabulous!
I am 58 so your channel is just perfect for me. I just ordered the Laura Gellar foundation. I like to have something quick and easy and great for traveling too. I tried it under my eyes today and a small section on my face to test for an allergic reaction so we shall see after a couple hrs. It does seems to give a smooth look and doesn’t make my under eyes look more wrinkly.
I love my Laura Geller makeup & I'm 52. My skin had changed to a much dryer type and my previous makeup wasn't working. I was using Bare Minerals - which I Really enjoyed when I was younger. Well, Laura Geller is, for sure, a game changer! I don't mix other product lines with it though. It's been my experience that sticking with the same line of products works best in my opinion. I believe they're formulated to work best together.
I got mine just a few days ago and ordered a second color Porcelain and fair to combine once in a while and use the fair in Summer I have light skin and I really love Laura Gellar baked foundation and will get other LG products so glad I got it. I have used BareMinerals and it was to drying and cream Foundation looked not good I am 79 young .
I've never used her powder foundation but I have used IT Cosmetics powder foundation. I wonder how the Laura Geller Powder foundation compares to the IT Cosmetics powder foundation
Hi Margaret. Thank you for another fun video. You look lovely. I’ve never tried Laura Geller. I do like Thrive Cosmetics. They are a clean brand too. Would you consider trying and reviewing them. You always look so warm, bright eyed and welcoming. Thank you again as always.
I found the products you just did drying to my face. I have dry skin & didn’t keep them. I guess I prefer it cc cream as I always go back to it. Thank you for your review
Really pretty look! I was so surprised at the "stripes" method of eyeshadow application. It looks like a great way to finally use all the colors of a four color palette. I usually end up using only one color cuz I am lazy lol
I really applaud you for putting on your make up for us older folks. May I make a suggestion that you pull your hair away before you apply your make up? I learned that the hard way as I kept coloring my hair with foundation, etc. Also, I think the blush is too far down on your cheeks. I would like to see it higher up so it would lift the cheek area. I too have use baked, brighten, and balance, and a very pleased with it
Love your videos. Love your calming voice. I started using the eyeshadow strip method after watching a young TH-camr completing it quickly. It works well if the shadows have good pigment. Needless to say, poor quality shadows will not work well. Thanks for all you do.
Been using Laura Geller products for years..Love them!! I was excited to see you using her products but disappointed that you really didn't use them all, just some.
@@sixtyandme Her blushes are beautiful..baked like the foundation. eyeliners and concealers too!! I do understand you can't buy everything, after watching your videos and seeing how beautiful you look..I run out to buy them!!! LOL adds up and so expensive!!
Hi Margaret. I do use the Laura Geller, Balance and Brighten foundations in Tan and Medium Deep. Also a blush and Highlighter. Did not like the lipsticks. The eye shadows on you were really pretty. Would you consider doing a video using Mary Kay products. Love All of your video's and YOU.🤗
Beautiful! PS- I forgot to mention that the eyeshadow technique that you demonstrated was one that is saw back in 1980 in Vogue magazine I believe... Avon had come out with color pencils... I had them in warm tones as well as cool tones and used this technique for every occasion! I had completely forgotten about it until you began applying your shadows! I think I will give this a go once again just to mix it up a bit! Thanks for the jogging of my memory! 💚
Thanks for sharing!! I had no idea this technique was featured back in the 80's - I have been having a lot of fun with different combinations - turquoise and green is lovely! :)
@@sixtyandme yes!!! I bet that is so pretty a combination .. and as I think about it.. it was Cosmopolitan mag and not Vogue.... that I first saw the technique in.. either way.. thank you for reminding me of it! I wore it today! Love it! Have a lovely day Margaret!
I just placed a rather large order, the foundation is definitely on the list. I'm praying I won't be super disappointed with the eye palettes I ordered. I didn't need ANY of it. I'm kinda ridiculous that way
I love Laura Geller! I just discovered her and am now addicted. I turn 50 today and I love how it doesnt settle into my lines and adds some glow to my skin. It’s been a long time since I recorded this video. But I think the secret with any foundation is to make sure that you use a good moisturizer or facial serum underneath any foundation. hope that helps.
It’s funny that it’s always a thing I look for and foundation if there is any hint to be yellow, I don’t purchase it. Did you think this was too yellow?
it looks more yellow because you are wearing a blue based pink. Nice looking on your skin. I started wearing it at Christmas time and love it! I will be 60 in September 2023.
Fun! I just purchased this foundation and found you looking for a review of it. Wish you were my neighbor, you’d be a cool friend to have! I hope this powder works for my sunbaked skin! 🦄💖🌷🌞
I have been using this makeup for over 10 years……but when Laura sold the business a couple of years ago, they changed the creamy powder foundation recipe and I recently bought a new one (I had a lot in stock)……….I’m disappointed now, because it doesn’t last a whole day any more, so I changed to another brand. It’s a huge shame, as her makeup is great. The creamy makeup is poured into the pans and heated to get it to turn into powder, but when it hits your warm skin, it turns into a creamy texture. The eye shadow and blusher is still great……I just have issues with the foundation.
I think that foundation is too yellow for your blue undertones. I thought the eyeshadow technique was interesting. I may have to try that. This was the first makeup video I've seen. It was so enjoyable!
Margaret for me nothing will replace Catrice makeup you showed us sometime ago! The peach colours were gorgeous on you! Good trick with the eye shadow!
Have you tried Look Fabulous Forever (LFF) makeup and skincare? All designed for the more mature woman by the owner Tricia Cusden. She started the company in 2013 when she was 65. Love her cosmetics. She has a 30 day money back guarantee. She also is on TH-cam. During the pandemic she started a Teatime at the Ritz where she had a vlog from home. I started watching her then. Each are live and on same days every week and include a q and a at the end. Cannot recommend her too much. I think you and your viewers will like her and her videos etc.
I watch you do makeup many times, and you always look lovely. But not this one, from what I see , that powder foundation lights up every crease you have, some I never noticed before. I think the creamy foundations look much better on you, maybe use this one as finishing powder . Sorry to disagree. Love your videos. I won’t be trying this product. ❤️
Thanks Janice for your feedback. I love to try new things and even though i loved the Laura Geller products I actually do prefer creams too! But of all the powder foundations I have tried this one was the best - it does start as a cream so has a very silky feeling.

You're right. This foundation color does look a little warm for you-but that could be easily fixed with a slightly different color.
