    I noticed yesterday that my feverfew is coming back in, YAY! Tinctured, it works on my headaches, and lower back pain. I gave a bottle to a friend who has had back surgery with a few discs fused and the patches they gave her for pain didn’t work. Feverfew did though. I was surprised at how much more than just pain that it can be used for! Many Blessings!!

    I suffered from migraines all my life… I’m 62. I’ve learned my onset symptoms, (zigzag eye flashers), and would reach for the aspirin as soon as l recognized the vision impairment, and the aspirin would dispel tunnel vision, hearing/sight sensitivity, and nausea so the headache was manageable. I don’t have them as much now but recently l started making a tea with feverfew and chamomile with honey and don’t find the taste to be bitter at all…maybe it’s just me lol. And you know what? Within 20-30 minutes l have no symptoms…not even a dull headache. Granted l just started this protocol so I’m not sure this concoction will work long term, but for now it’s a Godsend.

    I ordered my feverfew (& Golden Yarrow) from you about 3 years ago, and my gracious, I threw some seeds just ONCE, in ONE corner of my yard and its been a🏆 performer!
    EVERY.
    YEAR.
    SINCE.
    Them little boogers pop up everywhere with no effort. In potted plants, in my seed-sowing milk containers lol, and it's an AWESOME problem to have bc they transplant so well, that when I thin them, I just pop them where I can use them or don't mind them somewhere else, and in containers so that I can give them to someone who I think should give them a chance.
    I got them for ornamental reasons, but become a medicinal asset as my 1st go-to for headaches as I personally experienced their superior efficacy in comparison to the motrin/tylenol based otcs. And just realized how unfortunate it is how quickly I forget their usefulness when I'm not in need of it therefore never taken the leaves to freeze for the winter. That will change THIS year, and for years to come.
    The reason I'm even typing all this right now is because it saved me from a TERRIFFIC headache that I woke up this morning. I blindly made my way to the fevedfew leaves b4 I could even see, and thank goodness bc I started feeling fine when I needed to kick it into gear and I'm at optimal function right now without missing a beat.
    I have you to thank. Feverfew has become my herbal "gateway drug." I can't wait to see what other herbs are capable of. Anything said to make a good eyedrop that can help clear the vision? My vision seems to get worse every time I give-in and use reading glasses. But if I don't, I struggle to see.
    Thank you. 💚

    Once again - great info. I REALLY need to re-watch your pain remedy video and get at it! I purchased some dried feverfew and have only used tiny amounts in my teas. And yes...very bitter! I'm excited to start the seeds I got from you to grow this year - I'll be starting them indoors. Maybe since it's so bitter the deer might leave it alone!

It grows wild here in Oklahoma so I was pleasantly surprised when I started identifying the Mullein herbs around my home. Heidi, have you heard if this before?
    This fall I freeze dried a lot of feverfew. Once dried, I dumped it all into a big bowl and crumbled it. Through my non gloved hands and breathing in the dust, I believe I overdosed mys3lf.
    I spend the next week having non epileptic seizures. They were 4 to 7 mins long and I had about 10. After 2 ambulance rides, CT, mri and eeg...no one could figure it out. The Neurologist said it couldn't be the fever few because she recommends feverfew tea.
    Moral of the story, we are dealing with MEDICINAL plants. Use gloves and a mask or crumble/powder it outside.
    With all that..
    I still feel fever few is an amazing herb.
    I would love to know if you ve heard of this before...I googled and found nothing.

    • @RainCountryHomestead
      @RainCountryHomestead  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Never heard of that nor in all my years of drying and crumbling feverfew to store in jars has this every happened to me or anything like it, though I am sure it is possible. Maybe the fact you freeze dried it made it turn more powdery thus causing you to inhale a bunch.

      The thing with that question is that it really has to be up to the person and what they need most. Because I used to get frequent headaches, one of the first things i was looking for was something to help with pain which is why feverfew was one of my first medicinal herbs. I also chose yarrow because of its very long list of benefits both internally and externally. I have done several videos over the years on my top herbs, but it is really time to do another. I bought some of your feverfew seeds back in spring of 2021. Do you think they'll still sprout?

    I have 3 half barrels that I'd like to grow medicinal herbs in. Anyone have recommendations for 3 that grow well in large containers? TIA

      I should add that the biggest health complaint my husband and I have are muscle and joint pain from everyday activities and pickleball. :) We are in our early 60's and take no meds.

      It would depend on what exactly you want your focus to be on. Feverfew does not have a massive root system so it is one that would do well in pots

      I was making my reply when you were clarifying so I missed it. I recommend valerian in that case. While the root system may not get huge, I think it would do fine in a large pot as you can also use the leaves.

    Oil or alcohol tincture?

      @RainCountryHomestead  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tinctures are made with non oil solvents of many types and you can check out the video I linked to as promised in the description box if you want to learn how I do it. Oil infusions are usually something that is used topically

      @@beingsaveddaily6303 Weird bachelor's button as another name for feverfew since the actual bachelor's button flowers are blue, and look different to me.
