thank you for the shoutout of being the only ziv commando user. 🔫 i figured out the trick with the AK cuz i wanted to keep the wooden parts the same but I dunno why you have to jump over so many hoops just to do something quite straightforward. I always feel like the premade weapons/masks look like the level of customization we should've had seeing that the masks especially have patterns on them that would absolutely just work on their own with every mask, yet we have customisable mask patterns that look specifically designed to work on a few select masks.
Yeah... I really don't understand who decided that the paint system should work like this. Doing simple things takes so long that it feels like a complete waste of time, the system needs a rework really. I totally agree with the preset stuff as well, preset patterns should be available for all masks (and maybe allow patterns to be applied to weapons as well?) with better control over their placement, size, etc. Hopefully it's something they're working on but I feel like they're busy working on new content and fixing bugs instead of adding quality of life features like this. I mean hell, it took them around 8 or 9 years to let you pick pattern colours separately in Payday 2 instead of primary/secondary colours being tied together. Hopefully we see improvements soon and it doesn't take another 5+ years.
This is currently my attitude towards 3. -I- love it, despite all the bugs and problems but I'm not telling my friends to spend the money just yet, because they aren't as obsessed or invested in the franchise so they'll probably bounce off it quickly. Hell, I dug up an old Skype convo from early 2014 with a friend where I said pretty much the same thing about 2, the game has a good base but needs more time to flesh out some of the wonky systems. Remember having to spend skill points to be able to kill people in stealth without them making a ton of noise? IDK maybe I'll be proven an idiot for believing the game will improve, but I'm much happier being hopeful for something I enjoy rather than posting steam charts on reddit for the 300th time.
Needing a skill to kill people quietly is one thing but remember when skills cost money, the only way to respec was to reset all your skills and respeccing also cost money, and there were no skill sets? Early Payday 2 was incredibly jank and I'm definitely getting some of that again with Payday 3 (but somewhat worse this time because it's missing a lot of basic QoL features). Also yeah, the subreddit is kinda a cesspool of bad memes and steam chart screenshots with the occasional interesting post. I've decided to stop checking it for now because I feel my IQ drop every time I look at it
local tuber breaks the system yet again
