You mentioned all the dogs in the area but one GEORGES Triple Ott Red who some say was a belly brother to Chavis's Yellow John. The Redboy dog's are the most consistent family of game dogs to the present time. Retired from the dog world. Only have one dog left that is heavy off of Cottingham's Redman that is just a family pet!

The roll started in the day and lasted into the night. Triple Ott Red was searching in the dark for the bitch who eventually curred. To complete the roll two cars got face to face between the dogs and turned on their head lights. His best son was McClain's Champion Lucifer. Saw Lucifer's last match went uphill 15 lbs and ended up with him losing dead game. Never forgot this dog since he had clear green eyes. Lucifer got loose and killed his father in a kennel accident. Triple Ott Red was found strung out on the chain. It was so fiercely competitive in North Carolina. No one ever cared about the pedigrees. It was all about the dogs. It is all now history. The people in North Carolina were very tough, and it showed in their dogs.
@socratesXLIX Yep there was a great story written about him and his gameness,which that blood was known for. I mentioned Lucifer and Big Foot,I believe his name was,in a podcast and in my group. It was one of the greatest disparities in weight I ever heard of butno quit in him.

The owner of Big Head was told his dog was a cur which set the stage for the match. Big Head ended up winning since the match took place on a very early cold morning day. Experienced old dog man beat young cocky dog man every time. Experience dog man hand walked that dog for hours on the train track and put hell of wind into his dog. That old man did that every day and also worked ten to twelve hours at a steel mill - hard as nails. Some of the people are tougher than the dogs.
That 95 to early 2000s you seen the best dogs when lots of breedings started throwing super high consistency in litters. You had lots dogs with nothing but champions in them.
Really interesting that you described these dogs as being more “wild” or “primal.” I have a descendant of these dogs and when I first got her as a pup immediately noticed that she didn’t act like your normal pitbull. She didn’t care for people or me at all. She didn’t really care to be pet or loved on by people. As a puppy she even smelled more like a wild boar or possum no matter how often your bathed her.

School Boy, what red red nose lines are in the Carolina’s. I heard from different sources that Redboy was Hemphill. I also heard he was Down from Ross’s Red Devil via Wises Maximillion. Are those dogs the red dogs out of the Carolina’s or is it a different red red nose strain,
No those maximillion dogs haven't seen any in the Carolinas. In NC people where getting the REDBOY dogs from REDBOY himself or off offspring I know Wise used the REDBOY blood in his program
Mostly Hemphill dogs and dogs bred down from Lightner. Many think Red Boy was a Hemphill dog or bred down from Maximilian or Red Devil. Those are the ones as far as I know.

St Benedict kennels had a lot of different blood lines they delt with I myself purchased a pup of of their ch crock stuff , Rufus, Alligator, Midnight Cowboy x But that was in the 90,s I haven’t heard anything from them since maybe early 2000,s

Never seen a Redboy dog I’d consider a match dog, although I know people with match dogs that got beat by stuff off Hunter Red, but I wasn’t there to see it. I guess nothings really that good without crosses.

If I remember correctly they called Triple Ott Red The Blind Dog. He was pretty well-known back in the day

There could be something to the smell you described. The Bolio dogs were more primal like that.
