It's amazing how much I thought I knew about Bolio dogs and how they were put together. Me personally I love the Chinaman dogs specifically the Frisco stuff. Hearing you speak about Black Widow and how much of an influence she is when it comes to this blood. Studying peds, I've discovered another whole different pattern of breedings when it comes to those particular dogs you spoke about. Salute to you, my brother, that was very insightful for me. And one last thing. How can I purchase your books if I don't have Facebook? Thanks for the vid.
I'm glad to help and you recognized some that will help you in the future. I appreciate your kind words and support. You can contact me at my email richardjschoolboy60@gmail.com or on Instagram messenger for ordering details-SB
This video is right on time with the show yesterday. Very informative and great detail. But my question is this. I know you loved those dogs because your eyes light up and you kinda get excited when you talk about them. What did you like about the jeep/Redboy/Eli better? We're the bolio dogs not as consistent? What made you move away from those dogs if you did? Appreciate you Mr. Garcia.
The problem with the Bolio dogs is people started inbreeding them too much, which happened alot with bloodlines so the quality goes down but they were still good as a cross. The Jeep/Red Boy/Rascal stuff kind of fell into my lap due to circumstances and since they had alot of the same traits as the Bolio dogs except for style, they worked perfectly for me. They also retained alot of the standards I liked. Gameness, speed, strength, rough and high percentage litters
@40 street black Very true. The main difference is hunting is a predator vs prey. The prey doesn't want to be there and will escape if possible. A dogfight is a one on one confrontation. They want to fight
I remember him but I was saying that because you mentioned the cartoon and they had some chips named Andy Capp I think they were the one to make the first hot fries and a there was another cartoon named Beetle Bailey
Bolio makes everything better baby, we added it to our Sorrells stuff and baby Whooowee. 🔥 fire. I'm glad you did this bloodline. Redboy dogs can be kinda stupid sometimes less is more.
Couldn’t agree more. I have a Bandogg from Lee Robinson and her bulldog blood is Sorrells and Bolio. She a very very intense dog with high prey drive. Doesn’t matter if it’s a vehicle, Windshield wipers, a bag blowing in the wind.. She’s ready!
Thanks for another informative video. It's very entertaining. I heard you mention something that I never really thought about a lot, but I agree with your opinion. You said Bolio was heavily used in the western part of the States and I'm sure before Patrick got him and made breedings, but Bolio and Redboy could be compared to each other quite a bit just because of the influence the blood did on different coast of the States, out west Bolio and Southeast area of the states Redboy was being used quite a bit. Both great dogs and both played a major role in the development of the breed. I personally would prefer the Bolio dog over the Redboy, but they both work very well in many different lines they are crossed into. Once again thank you, and I hope you and your family had a fantastic day celebrating Mama Garcia's Birthday! I swear from the pictures you guy's know how to throw a party 🎉
The boys down in North Florida thought Murphy’s Oiler was the baddest dog that ever lived. They sought to make a smarter gamer Eli dog with more air by adding the Bolio stuff through Bell’s Baby Jones. The Hank/Bolio blood through Dirty Mary is what I think was the catalyst. Lmao, there’s people who would swear in a stack of bibles that GrCh.Hank wasn’t a pure bred bulldog. The Boyles stuff, smarter Eli dogs, or rougher Bolio dogs. Anyway, nothing beats a good head and throat dog with speed and finish.
When I was a kid hanging out with my grandpa. He once told a guy smart dogs go the face and finish in the throat, but a smarter dog will go the rear and finish in throat! He said a barnstormer who would look to counter and confuse with the end goal of getting to the backend was his favorite kind of dog. He said smart backend hunters would develop a style that confused most dogs just to get to that spot.
@CJ Bat You're grandpa was right. That backend hold is confusing to alot of dogs. Finishing in the throat doesn't require a hard mouth because the dogs only has to choke his opponent. If you can't breathe you can't fight
Great video..is it possible to talk the impact of Goldie bolio grand sire..he is in a lot of great dogs from bolio rascal stompanato even pit general. I asked about that on gdog talk but I guess it seem like I was chasing names but I wasn't.
Awesome video thanks, great to hear so much, not just about the dog himself and offspring but the stories about those days amazing, " just passing the day rolling some dogs" 👍 the good old days!
These were the dogs i started out with they were from bolio jnr who was out of bolio x redbaby, never rated him as a stud dog . I thought Rollo and Tonka were better producers. In the UK we had CH BJ who was by bolio jnr cross Tonks who was by tonka out of Burtons champion Bertha, . The dutch dogmen had some really good Bolio x Patrick blood. .Howes Bo was in Ireland he was sired by bolio jnr out of Patricks Muscles a heinzle bitch, now that dog did produce for the Irish lads..
The thing people don’t understand is that you can’t just can’t go by the number of times a dog appears in a pedigree. For instance, if you bred Bolio to a bitch, He might give a gene from Zeke to one pup for a particular trait, and a gene from his dam to another pup in that same litter for the very same trait, which is probably why I think the Rollo stuff is better than the Baby Jones stuff though they both appear to be heavy Bolio. If dogs ain’t being tested and culled for traits, that ped don’t mean sh*t.
@Mark Ballard Very true. The ped is only important if the dog works out. Other than that it's just a piece of paper. Breed dog for dog and follow the traits
Actually most guys I knew including Pat himself as I recall liked Dos Bits better than Rolo. Dos Bits was a great producer and threw hard mouth dogs for the line.

Richards description of Bolio dogs is spot on. All the Bolio dogs on Patricks yard were wired tight and almost Physcotic.
