The idea of Kenya being employed to go help Haiti does not make sense at all. Politics, it is said, isa game of interest.
It's nothing but a bogus endeavor, a ploy, to continue undermine Haiti's sovereignty as the first free and independent black republic in the World.
Africa has many chronic problems including and not limiting to Kenya itself, so why does not Kenya remain engaged on the continent?
Its resources such military/police and other expertise, I think, would be better served and appropriated.
The US government under the leadership of president Biden does not really desire to help Haiti. It couldn't be clearer than that.
If it did, this is not the way it would go about addressing and alleviating the security issues on the ground.
There is a well known diction that says: "If one desires that a man be free, and free indeed, you don't give him a fish, you show him how to fish."
Whatever is going on here is not being penned down in way that would benefit Haiti and its people, it might benefit Kenya, the president of Kenya, its soldiers, so forth, because they might walk away with a few millions of the $600,000,000 being showcased on the world stage.
The effort might as well enrich the coffers of Haitian colonial elites, the so-called heartless bourgeoisie of Haiti, for they are tho ones who will be signing business contracts for providing services and logistics, But the masses will benefit nothing, yes, I mean absolutely nothing, from that effort.
It's worth nothing that it is not the first time such efforts (humanitarian missions) have been organized on behalf of Haiti. Since the beginning of the 1900s, there have been many military interventions in the Caribbean nation. And none has ever led to anything of significance. In 1915, 1934, 1993, 1994 and 2004. Those interventions under US leadership have miserably failed, look at Haiti today, its political stance is in turmoil and its people are in dire need than ever! The Kenya-led mission though ill-conceived may aid the players in scoring political points on the World stage at the expense of a suffering people, but in the end, Kyan forces will make a laughing stock of themselves. Make no mistake about it, Haiti is fragile terrain and so difficult to manage.
Yes, USA could help Haiti once and for all if it was in fact animated with a strong inclination and aspiration to see Haiti rise out of centuries old ashes of humiliation, poverty and dependence. You do not give him a fish, you impose that he learn to fish so he may forge a path forward not only for himself but also for emerging generations moving forward. Calling upon our fellow African brothers and dispatching them to the country's aid is revelatory in that I do not think our US government, most importantly, the democrats whom we Haitian/Americans vote for 10-1 almost every election cycle, genuinely and honestly mean it: A free, independent and prosperous Haiti. Furthermore, it seems to reveal deep seated secrets, if not perhaps deep seated animosity, against the poor black Caribbean nation. Haiti now has a population of 12,000,000 according to Worldometer. It means that it has the Human Resources and manpower to fend off for itself, and that all that is missing at this point are military equipments and hardwares. $600,0000,000 constitute relatively a truck load of cash for a poverty stricken-society like ours.
the money therefore, instead of squandering it on Kenya's forces and other unnecessary parameters associated with the so-called intervention, should have been utilized for recruiting soldiers for FADH(at least 50K) and police officers forHNP(about 30K more); for training and logistics and furnishing them with what it takes to get job done, arming them with world class weapons such as helicopters, drones, grenades, better communication systems and accessories, and so on.
To me, as a regular citizen, it would be better use of those funds if it were really designed to help a place like Haiti that is in such serious, if not extreme needs. Haitians are not being taught to fish, taking their destiny into their own hands and therefore stop relying on others for their daily bread and day to day security. It's an international diplomatic stunt.

Ya. This is the one thing I have to give Ruto credit for. He could have clamped down on voices of dissent a bit harder. Besides sending police officers to plant drugs on bloggers etc, he hasn't done tooo much to crack down on dissent.

I am not from Kenya, but love ruto for trying to help our brothers in Haiti. Haiti loves Africa so much I wish every Kenyan learns some history. It's our duty to help other Africans wherever they are.
If you wanted to help Haiti, you would not need to wait on the US to request you. And the fact that your country did so and not consult the Haitian people shows your statement is false. US doe not own Haiti, so they don't get to say what help is needed. And if you truly want to help, keep the US from pillaging Haiti's resources.
