I dry mine and then put the dry leaves in the food processor to mulch to tiny pieces. I have a lot of dehydrated mullein saved in containers for later use of either making tinctures, tea, and infused oil. We use some of it for one of our horses that has heaves (similar to asthma in humans).
I just smoked some mullein and wow this is something else, relaxing and it cleans your lugs, i can breath much better too. a keeper. thank you CJT for posting.
I made a pint and half p tincture got a week to go. Let plant get tall going to harvest and dry rest it's a first year 6 ft tall, I just happened to recognize it in my yard. Hubby didn't mow it. One plant. So excited first time, doing this
Thank you! Excited for you! We too have gathered Mullin leaves off the stalk. It was already dried due to season. We will be drinking the tea also. 👍 we were told by another person who made a video on Mullin who replied to my question if can take dried leaves off stalk and make tea with it and he said. yes! You can!
I make a respitory oxymel with mullein, sage, russian sage and lungwort. Its very effective for cough and congestion. Your video is a great quick medicine idea!
Puffiair lung repair vaporizer pen contains mullein, thyme and peppermint. Tastes great. Makes mucus easier to spit out. Soothes throat and lungs. Awesome. Buy at their website.
40+ years ago I did lawn maintenance in Miami. I went to a small flea market and their was a Haitian man selling "weeds" in plastic containers, metal cans and such. I said to him how do you think you're going to sell weeds! He quickly told me his name for these so called weeds and all the medicinal properties of them.
I have a Mullen plant in my own yard actually in my garden. I grow it myself and I know how it grew. I know how safe it is, and there are not toxins grown anywhere near it.
I am so happy to have taken the time to make this beautiful mullein infusion and share that I am feeling better! Thank you Mullein. Do you have mullein growing where you live? Let me know in the comments below!
Hi Coral! Great idea! I have it growing here at the house, I have not tried it yet, I honestly always let it flower! Beautiful yellow flowers. Maybe I will give this a try this year. How soon after drinking the tea did you begin feeling better?
I only drank the tea for two days, Then on day three I Don’t need to as my cough was gone. The plants I was using hadn’t gone to seed yet, probably only in their first year. I don’t think they flower until year two. I haven’t used the flower part before. Some of those flowers get extremely tall!@@PandJsHomesteadAdventure
Hi Coral! That's great news the Mullein worked and your cough is gone! Yes when the Mullein flowers it is 2 feet tall brings in lovely color for the bees! I believe your correct usually blooms the 2nd year. Great find on your property!
I have happened upon 5 diff vids on thus. You can also roll and smoke it. Works in an hour. Also cut up fill can jar, add 95-100 proof clear lqr. Let sit closed 3 was shake up once a week. Strain put in dark bottles and do drops. Just learned, watched 4 diff ppl.
Great video Coral. I have my mullein leaves but I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with them, make a Tincher and or dry the leaves for a tea for the cough I come down with. bronchitis at least twice a year and the last time I had it I literally cracked my rib from coughing very very painful. My question is how long will the tea last in the refrigerator or I should say the infusion. Thank you from Indiana.
I've been drinking mullein for a week and yes, it does help my cough! I take a fresh leaf, wash it, then Blend it with water, then add hot water and honey. After the first cup of mullein tea I could start to feel a difference. Vaping would make too much mucus in my lungs. Mullen helps me breathe much easier.
Mullen makes your cough productive, bringing up irritating build up of mucous, including old, hardened and sticky mucous down deep, which is often the cause of irritating, itchy, tickling cough. Amazing for clearing the airways and breathing easy! I thought I was developing COPD or emphysema when I found mullein! Now, I take mullein tea and I made tincture for greater convenience, daily! I will never be without this! Has been a miracle to me! Hope that helps
I have a couple large ones in the backyard with the floral top forming. Some leaves are prob almost 2 feet. Are they good to use or too late? Also, that means im not killing them per se cause theyre probably on 2nd year and wont be back next year anyways?

Made Mullein tincture and tea. Tincture gets rid of sore throat overnight. One of my most favorite plants.

This method of preparation is excellent. I think a french press would make this even more efficient. Great video!

There is no such thing as a weed; only plants growing where you do not want them to grow!

Bad Utensil
Did you kill the plant by harvesting all the leaves?
Great info thanks 👍💕🌱🌱🌱🐿🇨🇦✨
Dont dehydrated it. ;)
Is air drying it better?
@@lauriepolden6594 I wonder if we should just put a leaf straight from the yard into boiling water. Not dry it at all.
@@ellemcclearly1800 yes you can use fresh leaves, dehydrating them is used for long term storage or making a tincture
U dont even smoke why clean lungs
The air is really polluted ...
I dry them like weed and smoke em. Works like a charm for me.
