Thank you for not talking just to hear yourself talk... it's rare to watch a video without someone telling their life story between each piece being removed... good video! Thank you!
Excellent! Saved my marriage after I submerged my wife’s Penn Pursuit 3 a few weeks ago and found it had seized up today. Found your video and did a complete strip down. Now working perfectly. Thank you so much 👏👏👏👏
*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*
Be prepared, this reel probably won't last long even if you maintain properly. I have one now that is 7 years old and although it's still in use the gears aren't meshing well and I always had a problem with line lay. This reel does not like Powerpro braid with constant wind knots but i finally had success in using Ezeebraid spiderwire 15lb. After 7 years of light use, I didn't think this reel was worth what I paid for but I did manage to find a use considering it's limitations.
Little late on this. Noticed that you didn't replace the shaft sleeve you removed at 7:49. I'm thinking that might keep water from getting in your housing. Might want to put that back.
My BTL 2 on 1000 size feels really stiff to crank for some reason, it's only 4 months old too. Might have to do proper cleaning soon and this video definitely helps with it.
My fishing buddy snagged the same reel and Abu varitas 2.0 rod out of the river the other day . It didn't look like it was down in the water to too long. A little scuffing on the bail from being pulled into the water by a big catfish lol. Thanks for the video . It should be helpful when I crack the reel open to take a look
Hey mate, great video. I pulled it apart to practise as mine squeals when reeling from medium to fast. Do you think its the bearing? On that gold centre part that gets taken off at the end the grease was brown and not blue. Thanks
If you’re gonna take it apart you may as well clean it and grease/oil it. Looks like factory grease in there and the pinion seemed pretty dry didn’t really see the main gear. Those bearings particular the pinion bearings will go real quick if not oiled. Little drag grease also keeps the HT100 washers running smooth too.
I take my reels apart often and grease them. I had just broken this reel down a few days prior and greased it. I could probably use more grease but I do it so often I feel I can get away with less.
@@thesaltygoogan2386 ,,,,,Good job, very good break down. If you stay on top of maintenance, not much grease is needed. As for the chingered (technical term) screws, look into getting some JIS, or pozi-drive screwdrivers. They really grip a lot better, and prevent stripping..size 1, 0, and 00 will handle almost all the screws on spinners. i noticed you use a screwdriver handle with bit inserts, so you could just order bits cheap. Vessel tools sells bits. Wiha, and Wera, good drivers. Lots of info on TH-cam about JIS verses Phillips. I enjoy servicing my reels also, and the propper screwdrivers made a world of difference........Great vid
Very similar, I have one opened up right now, this is a good reference. Only a few small differences, you can find online schematics that will help too.
The anti reverse on my Penn Battle II 3000 doesn't work sometimes. I can spin the handle backwards when this happens. What do you think is causing this? Is there a broken part in the reel I need to replace?
Hi dear. I have bought two Penn Battle 2 6000s but to my surprise both have sort of crack at the top end of the bail arm. Can someone please confirm do all reels come like this or are mine damaged ? Thanks.
Superb video! I've got a Penn Conflict II, which makes a kind of "knocking" sound/noise when the spool goes down while i reel in my baits. Any suggestions? Big thumbs up for a really good quality video!
SG, I want to buy a high quality screwdriver set for maintaining my Penn reels. Does Penn use standard or metric sizing? What sizing would I need for a Penn Fierce II 3000 and a Penn Battle II 4000? And can you recommend a set?
Okay 👍👍 I must open my batlle, because I also have a penn battle 2 3000 and I have a small problem with it. It has some vibrations and knocks when reeling larger lures and spinners. do you think it's loose inside?
I'm your new subscriber from Kashmir india , would you please suggest me any trusted website on the internet today where i can order high end fishing material..?

Thanks for video. Forgot a move to disassemble and helped.
This helped me strip down my pursuit 2 4000. Thank you so much.
Best video I've found. Very helpful!

A great presentation, right up there with the best I’ve seen, thank you.

Would this disassembly be in any way similar to the Penn fierce II line of reels ?

Would you mind adding a Penn Battle II schematic mark-up identifying the parts you replaced?

Too many parts to worry about and service. Must be Chinese built Penn reels. Prefer the older Spinfishers U.S made ! ...... great video 😀

xyzct I just use a standard set that I have. Sorry.
@@thesaltygoogan2386, no, thank you for responding! :-)
Is the main gear that cheap white metal? I can not really see it too well thanks.
hi i have a question are you repairing reels or are you just showing you how to disassemble and assemble?
Lukas Hehe I was repairing my personal reel and figured I would make a video to show others how to do it.

Can you do a video of how your greese the reel. You do a great clean job. Thanks
The only downside to all the grease Penn uses is when it's used in saltwater. It will gum up fast. You have to clean it almost every time you use it.
not true
I cannot pull out the bearing assembly, even with pliers. Any ideas ??
John Duncan which bearing assembly? In the rotor?
@@thesaltygoogan2386 I got it out, but the clutch / sleeve was frozen. Ordered new parts and should be good to go. Thank you for your reply
You left out the white greas seal for the main shaft
Thanks!
Nice videos
My reel will not come off the rotor😭
Utiliser une cle a molettes pour demonter et remonter l'écrou du rotor est digne d'un amateur!!!! Cela dit tres bonne vidéo explicative
Can you fix mines too???
