- If you are subscribed to this channel then you probably have watched me rave about my Nikon Z5. So, why did I upgrade to the Nikon Z6 II? For starters: autofocus, speed, build and maybe XQD, but I'll explain it all.

Thanks for this video. I am at the same decision point, considering the two models. I had the Z5briefly a couple years ago. And your vid reminded me of how bad/slow the 5’s focus is in low light.
thanks for the video did you buy z6ii with a kit lens? also do you need something extra to download photos to computer from the q card?
I toyed between the Z5 and Z6II, the price was vastly different (coming from DSLR) and went with the Z6II, don't regret that choice at all.

In my experience, BSI sensor advantage in Z6 was only when shooting ISO above 6400. Rest is damn same. Yea High FPS is a valid REASON TO shift from z5. Esp for someone who is making money form it, shd always try to have best gear in hand. For a casual user like me, Z5 is more then sufficient. Nice video
Totally agree on the Z5. It is a solid camera body with a nice set of the features. Maybe with a faster SD card I could have gotten over the slower FPS with my old Z5.
Wedding Question, My flash will not fire more than 2-3 shots per sec or so. Why would you need a shooting speed faster than that? Do you use a flash for the exit of the bride and groom after the ceremony? I use a flash so I have some light in the eyes in doors. If I shot weddings outdoors with defused light, I would not hesitate to shoot without a flash. I find most weddings for me are indoors and later in the evening where flash is a must. How much flash do you use at weddings?

Can you customize each "direction" on the d-pad with various menu preferences?
Not that I am aware of. The center button is programmable which I use for either re-centering my focus point quickly or show/hide grid. I tend to alternate them for some reason. Thanks for watching!
When you place writing on the screen leave it longer so I have time to read it, it goes away to quick for me and there is no reason it can't remain longer. Thanks, good video.

For Z5. Is continuous shooting 4.5 fps working in auto focus ? Kids in action is enough @ 4.5 fps ?
Make sure you get a fast SD card and I think you will be fine for the run of the mill playground shots. A soccer game may be pushing it.
The Z5 works just fine for me as a beginner in mirrorless cameras
Totally agree. It is a solid camera body with a nice set of the features. I would recommend it to people who want to try out full frame photography.

I'm sold my d750
Now I'm confused between z5 &z6ii
I have two D750s and a Z5. The Z5 is an awesome camera as long as you don't need the things the Z 6 II offers.
@@rainbowtrash1625 would you say that Z5 is at least as good as d750 or better in terms of autofocus performance, mainly in low light?
@@vladobiljarski2839 I have D750 and Z5, and I would say that for taking photos, D750 with phase detect is better. Sometimes the Z5 struggles in very low light, although in bright light it does fine. The accuracy of focus is better with the Z6ii closer to D750. That said, the video on D750 is not great at tracking, and both Z5 and Z6ii video modes are far superior for tracking video subjects over the D750. D750 is just great at taking photos.

My d610 has better high iso performence than Z5.
It produce low noise image even at iso 12800 but Z5 can't go above iso 1600.
Z5 not design for low light photography and not for professional users.r
Did you get a chance to compare D610 low light against Z6 ii ? Is Z6 ii any better in low light compared to Z5?
@@sinhafamily BSI sensor could be better.for about two stop than d610.
But Z5 not.
1600 was fine on my ancient Nikon D3. It is 2022 and Z5 is capable of clean images on iso 6400 no problem. Lightroom also helps so there is nothing stopping people from shooting on higher iso.
are you serius ? i shoot easy 12k iso with my z5 . iam sure you dont see ever from near one z5 🤣🤣🤣

you can shoot even at 104000 ISO with Z5.
