Bots in the home will be very disruptive. If the bot can do all the chores, husband and wives will need to find a whole bunch of new things to argue about
They will be more broke due to the robot expense so they can argue more about money.
@@Ask-a-Rocket-ScientistThey would be about the rental cost of an average car likely.
My revivifier patented ArgueBot ❤
No they'll have time to find hobbies and connect around them.
If anything I think automation of chores and jobs will give people more time to connect. People are stressed out due to work, money and chores/too much responsibilities.
I want to see a robot with the same design as the terminator, but just washes dishes and does the vacuuming and ironing.
That would be fun, but he has to babysit, tutor and pet walk as well, while wearing a manly apron, of course, one that declares, "Vegetarian Oils Only!"
Bots will go to Mars. These will build solar farms, build shelter and make Methane for fuel
They will be on the Moon too.
I'm good at making methane for fuel. My wife keeps complaining about it though
@@davidantill6949 We need you on Mars!
Figure is also a partner, Figure 1 is the first robot in the presentation line up.
Let's pay Elon for the last 8 years of his back-breaking work before we start demanding that he does stuff in relation to bots.
Elon has more money than he can spend in ten lifetimes.
Tesla (not Elon) is already well on the path to delivering a robot. Elon's cheerleading is not necessary.
@@Ask-a-Rocket-ScientistThat’s not the point, he accrues money for going to Mars and other efforts to ensure humanities future. He is not a materialistic billionaire like Besoz or Gates…. He couldn’t care less about spending it on junk.
@Ask-a-Rocket-Scientist
That's true for anyone over $100 million. We need to cap human wealth and the rest goes to the government. There is zero reason a teleprompter reader, like the hosts on MSNBC, should be worth hundreds of millions of dollars and earn that money by endlessly lying to voters
its not about money, he doesnt want to lose control over his company due to greedy investors@@Ask-a-Rocket-Scientist
Something people miss in the video, the lineup of 9 bots and Jensen that was a giant display, only the small Disney bots were on stage
Really?
There was no way others would be able to compete with Optimus without such a platform
Figure is better than optimus
@@Charvak-AtheistI think Optimus has better hardware but figure has more complete software.
I think its kinda close which 1 is in the lead. We need new update from Tesla to see where they at.
Game over for Tesla!

@@brunoheggli2888lol anti Tesla bot on all Tesla videos 😂
The figure robot was on the stage. Left most.
If I ever had enough money to buy a humanoid robot I'd never buy one where the legs bend backwards. That's too creepy.
"...take a glass and drink out of it..." Well, that would be a moonshot, I guess! 😂
As someone who’s not very technical, I’m glad someone is sorting through this stuff and providing context.
Just think, my very own Cherry 2000 b4 I die!
How much of the race to hominoid robots is in response to Tesla's Optimus? (Note that the dominate response to Optimus was laughter a couple years ago.) Interesting that Tesla is receiving opposite of a stock bump...
I'm loving the discount on the stock. Now I have an extra 2.3 shares since yesterday.... All this means is a much stronger vertical jump when the next wall St. Preferred catalyst drops.
Wall St. Are idiots they never realize the financial significance of technical news immediately.
We watched all weekend as FSD version12.3 basically drove better than 95% of all human beings in multiple scenarios.
Then we start the week on a with a bang a nice 6% rally. But when you look at the news this rally wasn't because of the FSD videos. It was because Wall Street likes the fact that Tesla raised the prices on the model Y which is long-term. The exact wrong thing that they need to do if they want to increase the volume delivered to the customer base and make it cheaper for people to buy the vehicles. But hey Wall Street consists a bunch of a bunch of greedy assholes who don't really care if the consumer has to pay more for a product as long as they're making money. So when Tesla raises prices these imbeciles jump into the stock.
As a long-term investor who is focused on accelerating the transition to sustainable energy, I don't see it as a good thing. I see it as a bad thing because it indicates to me that they might have an inability to continue cog's reductions which could virtually increase their margins while allowing them to lower prices. It could be that they misjudged previous price cuts and demand exceeded their ability to supply and raising the prices and effort to reduce that demand so that they can match it with their supply, but that's just speculation.
better a stock bump than a bump stock eh, SCOTUS?
@DavidSaintloth investors invest to make money, they're not worried about the emotional agenda stuff.. it's about dollars and sense.. when you're looking for a job i doubt you worry about selling your services as low as possible so that some mom and pop can afford you.. im sure you want top dollar too.
cue Kraftwerk's song "The Robots" 🤖🤖🤖
The action loop that the robots use is similar to the OODA loop Fighter Pilots use (codified by Col. John Boyd). Observe -> Orient -> Decide -> Act. The pilot who can run the loop the fastest wins the fight. (I am not a pilot)
Did anyone notice the robotaxi cut that corner crossing the double line? Must be on aggressive mode 😂
I am single. I will set my robot to cleaningy house while I work. Maybe in the future we will have robots defensing our homes from invaders.
Hey thanks for the video. I was just wondering if you could turn the volume up on your videos a little bit. I work in a data center and with all the computer fans whirling away I have a hard time listening to your videos while I work. Thanks.
You say Figure is absent, but isn't that Figure 01 on the far left of the stage?
Too much power in the hands of one company. Thank goodness we have Tesla to provide an alternative to this humanoid robot conglomerate.
It was great when Jensen mentioned ASIL D
Before you ever see a home robot, you will see the government sponsored military and police robots. Your first encounter with a police robot may be very painful.
All I can think about is kung-fu robot fighting arena 2124
Project Groot... I approve of the name. Lol. I AM GROOT!
John : watch the full key note . The Bots were not onstage : it was a graphic .
I agree. It’s a novel idea that might have some limited uses.
next step: ballet dancer.
Figure has already partnered with nvidia
It's learning in a virtual world, and replicates it's actions in the real world.
It makes me wonder if one day they could combine the virtual world with the real world and just get it to learn like that.
It most likely only works for now in very consistent parts of the real world, where the digital model is an exact replica of the real world.
They better switch Optimus into hyper drive if they are going to get ahead of the competition. Like auto production, building prototypes is easy. Mass production is a lot harder.
There is an Avenger and a GOTG in this project... Thor and Groot
Digit dues not have backward facing knees, what you're calling Its knees are actually it's ankles. This changes, force transfer and moment arms a bit so that it walks more like a large bird. Think of an ostrich or an emu rather than a primate.
In any case, you don't have knees getting in the way of handling loads. To be picked up and put down

Bot startups must put out interesting videos to attract investment. However Tesla can release info on Optimus based on its strategic plan. Also they may have another AI day soon and they may be on hold to release their most compelling videos at that time. Without the danger of an AI FSD car making a mistake and killing someone I think that progress must feel like it is moving at incredible speeds for Optimus researchers. I think Optimus will make incredible progress but will we see it as soon as the startups is a great question. Tesla being in a somewhat catch-22 may choose to hide their progress as others tend to follow Tesla frame by frame on reveals and we may be giving away the store!
I hope humans can now rediscover their human value
Isn't "Groot" a copyrighted name?
Looking forward to seeing FSD or something from Nvidia inserted into a quadcopter or other flying machine. Maybe a helicopter for Mars and Titan exploration, maybe a balloon for Venus upper atmosphere flyer. Swarms of 'bot flyers on Earth would have so much work in agriculture, traffic monitoring, mapping, shipping security, etc.
Robocop in real life soon?
So Nvidia is Skynet
When the "bolted to the factory floor" KUKA Robots become A.I. trainable, will they envy the bi-pedal robots that are NOT bolted down? When will Robot Envy become a "thing"?
I think it will take quite some time, till you can buy a humanoid for home use, all production capacity from all the companies will be deployed in the industry, most likely for a relatively high price......
@ 5:10 Understandable, the fear is justified, in Yann Lecun's recent interview with Lex Friedman, Yann talks about how Reinforcement Learning (RL) can be dangerous. The "danger" comes from the pseudo-random number generation, that makes it less (or not) predictable (depending on how "random" the "random" number generator is). My perception is to stride towards the TARS (from the Sci-Fi Movie Interstellar) model, where parameters can be adjusted, one of which is the degree of "randomness" (Stephan Wolfram who has made Wolfram Alpha a large language model focused on math & physics, demonstrated having a noise/randomness adjustability level).
I look at RL as, to quote Marcus Aurelius, in his Meditations journals, as a "mind fire".
Perhaps we have found the "Deus Ex Machina" of our time.

The race to become paperclips is speeding up
Figure is partnered with Nvidia
Is everyone flabbergasted yet?
What is the advantage of backwards facing knees? That will make it impossible for them to sit down. Possibly in a vehicle for transportation.
I thought the whole idea of humanoid was to make them be able to fit in human spaces.
Much easier to lift things off the floor when the knees aren't obstructing the arms. Also more battery efficient
The goal is… robots CAN’T sit down on the job 🦿🤖
This bot will be better at unloading truck. It can pick up boxes in the cargo area.
Trucks are designed to be unloaded with people with normal knees. These ones won’t be able to drive a truck either.
Also they can’t sit at a desk or do many things that were built for the human form over millennia.
Prototypes are easy. Production is hard. Tesla is years ahead.
Isit just me or is ur audio laggin behind?
They can throw all the money on this...but can they scale?
fishy question 😂
@@FrunkensteinVonZipperneck They could be (unintentionally)catfishing us in order to bait investors...in the meantime, companies like Tesla actually produce practical, scalable robots. The Electric car companies with no way to scale, are an example of that...
Long time member and $TSLA holder. I love all of this tech and John's way of explaining everything so clearly. Which is why I am making this comment here and not on another channel. I don't need hate, I need explaination please. If the robot learns by watching a video, how do you prevent it from watching crimes on video and then copying that behavior? Figure's voice sounds human, that is why it is creepy IMO. Alexa, Google and Siri sound like robots IMO. All of this is amazing, but for those of us without MA degrees in computers, it is also concerning/creepy/makes us leary because we don't understand. No one has explained how you prevent the robot from hurting people or kicking the family dog. What if instead of asking for a "high five" the man asked the robot to hit him in the face? Or to break his co workers arm? What would happen? John, can you can please speak to how programing/software/code whatever "stuff" keeps robots from hurting us? Or point me to an appropritae video please. I realize you are busy. Thank you!
My revivifier worries the bots watch videos of Trump…
You’d need massive amounts of crime videos and billions of dollars of nvidia gpus to train it. It won’t just train itself watching crime on tv in your home. We are many many many years away from that capability. It would need a supercomputer brain. Only huge companies will be able to alter the behavior at first through software updates
When are they learning on their own how to use guns?
If Nvidias model is bot agnostic does that favour them in data collection? They've partnered with multiple companies, whereas Tesla is on its own.
I think that making robots humanoid is more of a psychological thing, than a need for them to fit into a world built around humans.
Humanoid is great for a multitask unit but it may be cheaper to continue to specialize the vast majority of robots for each task, such as making cars.
Elaborate legs that mimic humans are unnecessary for a multitude of tasks where a rolling base will suffice.
Humanoid androids are all the rage because we want a buddy.
They will be able to TRAIN CARs in the VIRTUAL WORLD for FSD NO NEED for real world driving data ??
Great, Nvidia a company know for abandoning legacy technology, make me wonder what the support lifespan will be for theses robot brains?
The 4th industrial revolution is here fellas
where do you think tesla stands on this. i feel kinda worried as of competition
I think robot brains and skill sets will inevitably scale. l think Tesla main moat will probably be manufacturing and power efficiency, ultimately there will be a bot price war
And NVIDEA said they Had 1 Million Engineers NVIDEA Competition For TESLAS FSD NVIDEA FSD ?
NVIDIA doesn't have much real world driving data to use with their FSD. With the Bots everyone is in the same boat.
Didn't anyone watch Star Trek? We are done...smh. "We are the Borg. Existence, as you know it, is over. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile."
Yes, the "rules of the road", I think that it would be Unfortunate if the AI failed at Humanism by making political judgements based on ethnicity/religion/gender/age, etc.
We’re basically going to program in a Social Contract that will replace our traditional one.
Imagine a bot that could affect our social score by making inappropriate judgements and building that narrative into the Facts/Truth database. We need a better forum for preventing Biases.
Cheers from San Diego
I like big bots I cannot lie

Fat bot-tomed bots, you make the rockin’ world go round
Nvidia continue to play catch-up in the the real world AI space. Just like in autonomous driving, it has (1) a training data disadvantage, and (2) a late to market disadvantage. Its partners will also have cost disadvantages. I think compute power is a wash, unless Nvidia starts slow walking Tesla orders. The biggest difference is thatTesla is much closer to having a foundation model for real-world AI than nvidia.
What's it all mean to an investor? Tesla's PE of 35 looks cheap compared to Nvidia 75. Investors who owns both are well positioned, since it looks like a 2 way race. Expect Tesla to be less forthcoming about technical progress. Expect aggressive spending on Dojo, also with fewer specifics.
Haven't watched Jensen Huang often but he seemed a bit panicked. Maybe just nerves.
Looks to me as Nvidia is forming up 8 Robots to fiht Tesla
I hope l can make enough money on the stock market to spend it before the robots eat us for their oiling.

I’ve been asking all these sites if FSD can learn from simulations, but no expert ever opines. Looks like the answer is yes for robots, so why not vehicles, too? If so, then Tesla’s lead could quickly evaporate, as other, deeper-pocketed organizations that have more compute but less data, negate the data disadvantage.
Because complexity and risk on roads is completly different from home stuff.

What is it with the robot geeks and making a robot look like a human being?
SiFi movies have shown us dozens of robots that don't look like humans and are candidates for what a robot should look like.
The less a robot looks like a human, the easier it will be to adopt it as an appliance.
and that's all a robot is - an appliance that does useful work for us.
When a robot looks human it will NOT be accepted as an appliance but a replacement
and the two are vastly different.

"ALL IN" is misleading. Huang discussed industrial automation in this presentation, but he knows that industrial robot arms are a bore compared to humanoid bots. His emphasis on humanoid bots capitalizes on the humanoid hype to market this presentation, but "humanoid" appears nowhere in the GROOT acronym. Nvidia will support AI generally, and they'll sell chips and services to anyone who'll buy them, but I doubt that Huang really expects humanoid bots to dominate industrial automation anytime soon if ever.
One of the Disney bots apparently froze on the stage, and the other bots only stood up and waved. Not exactly a compelling demo ... Also, no Optimus ...
Can Apollo only repeat what it was teleoperated to do during training with everything arranged identically on the table? If so, I'm not impressed. Presumably, existing industrial robots are already trained this way. No sign of Mr. Data on the horizon here.
