@@RCNuts that is so accurate. I have a buddy that used to ride Motocross and he doesn’t follow RC’s at all. He sent me a picture of this new RC before I even knew it existed lol….hopefully this will pull him into it.

This is going to be the biggest RC this year and next, IMO ! No way Losi is going to be able to keep up with the orders. I'll get mine in the second batch, I never buy first run of anything, but be sure I will get one !! Very cool video, thanks !!
We need a rear paddle and a front mohawk tire to really make it dance in the sand! Mohawk front tires have made a comeback at Glamis and Pismo. The handling is incredible with the new Mohawks. For those that are wondering a Mohawk tire is a slick with a raised sharp point on the center of the tire. It looks like a mohawk, lol. It keeps the front tire from washing out in turns cutting the sand like a knife in the middle of the tire but floating over the sand at the same time. It basically acts like a rudder. San Rails have them too.

Make your own... take a regular tire and a knobby knife and shave the knobbies to make ur own mohawk

@juanplascencia3034 That's an awesome idea! I've done that in the past with slash knobbie tires for my sand drag car, I'll definitely be doing this for my dirt bike. Thanks for the advice.

Gotta watch running those battery cables outside of the intended routing through the exhaust as the suspension can allow the tires to chew your batter wires up. If your running the spektrum batteries they fit perfectly however ive seen people use other batteries with a lil dremmel work and can still tuck them away. I love my Promoto! By far the best release this year and I rank it up there with the Xmaxx as far as must have RCs!!! Best wishes!!! 💯

We have a 3d printed paddle in the works, and hopefully, proline comes out with a set soon!
I just maiden my thisafternoon and man it's really fun! I fly helis and planes and they can be alitte stressful sometimes but man this thing put a locked smile on my dial!

If you run 3s you'll smoke the motor that spind the gyro.
Paddle tires are in the works. Also the balls need replaced with small skis.
They should definitely make a sand paddle tire for this thing, Awesome bike, I have the Ricky Carmichael dirt bike, I'm thinking about replacing all the electronics with the electronics from this bike eccept the gyro because the gyro is in the rear wheel on the Ricky Carmichael bike. Awesome rip guys!!
Must be nice to be able to ride your dune buggies and dirt bikes out to the dunes to play around with your rc dirt bike! I heard 3S will not work with the gyros tho.
So maybe we need to bec the gyro and run a bigger system to the motor??????
@@RCNuts It probably can't even handle 3S and will be uncontrollable but it looks like you can upgrade to a 100C from the 50C at least. Wonder how much higher it can go up to. Maybe 200C?
@@RCNuts Looks like some people got 3S to work now by putting in a 100A Spektrum ESC and upgraded BEC for 3S/20A.

make your paddel tire..3D...print a re.cap..tread....bond it to that nobby ...rite on top .....or make that tire on the bike a snow spike tread...use it in the sand.......just saying...
The 3d printed paddles were from akrc products, I do not have a 3d printer, I would just get the proline paddle if I wanted another one, but I like the 7 paddle 3d printed tire. I really dont use it much in the sand anymore because the sand gets in the gyro and has to be taken apart and cleaned out too much.
Also it was awesome that you ran on the sand - you may be the first video on this bike in the dunes and it looked awesome! Once they get some paddles available I’m sure it’ll be a game changer.
I agree, I also needed to adjust my front brakes as someone else stated in the comments. I noticed in the video that it was dragging in the sand a little bit. The front break really isn't necessary in the sand anyway.
You need to mount the ski to the riders foot, so his foot is out in the turns holding the bike up when needed. Not having the front brake trim adjusted, or being in the right mode cost you a bit of hiking lol,, maybe read the instructions before running it again.
I didn't read some of the instructions but that's silly nobody reads the instructions haha, it's a simple turn of the knob to adjust the front brake I knew about and just got caught up in the moment, there adjusted now and might actually be removed for the sand as there not needed because the sand just stops you. Skis are a great idea and I will try that out or at least remove the training wheels all together and see what happens?
Those licensed parts is what makes the product so expensive. Being ripped off by corporation names
But the bike is amazing, sucks the price point but with the gyro and the ms6x helicopter inspired all new reciever, I think the price is not too far off.
Wonder how fast Proline will whip out a Paddle tire for this thing LOL

I agree, also my mx400 dirtbike. They both are capable of running 3s bit are so so so much harder to use lol.
I figure it’s only a matter of time before Proline puts out paddles for this thing.

So nice , hey could you please share what was your pre-order date ? And then how long was it before they sent you an email with the shipping information? The what date it arrived? .... because it's looking like we could be in for a very long wait . And horizon hobby will not share any information about how long the wait will be now . They just say no ETA and then cut off the conversation. I believe they have only filled 10% of the pre-orders . I'm trying to get enough information that I can make an educated guess on how long the wait will be . Thank you
I saw 1 guys review where he took it to a pro BMX race track. It ran so good that I started looking for RC dirt bike racing circuits.

The thing has the same back tire on it as my dirt bike..mx52 medium/ hard! You need to put some 2stroke sound for it!!! As a kid, I would have been losing my mind! Great video man!

Great sand footage! It’s not 3s compatible, at all (for now). When you turn it on, you have to let it sit to calibrate the ms6x for like 5 seconds.
I did realize that, lol. I really wish this one was 3s. My sky rc sr5 is 3s, but it handles like complete garbage, lol. Someone will make a good 3s upgrade for how popular this bike is. It really needs 3s power in the sand. We've had someone reach out to us for a 3d printed paddle, and we can't wait for it!
@@RCNuts as it stands now, 3s is not an option. This thing is more like a drone, than a normal rc car. So the change in voltage (keeping the flywheel 2s) needs to have all of the pids, rates, and filters to be remapped for the higher voltage. Until we get access or someone creates their own betaflight fork, we’re stuck with 2s. You can however change the gearing and possibly the motor to a higher kv.
Once you find a way to get traction in sand, this thing will be a blast!

They are called dirt bikes for a reason. It actually sucks driving a real dirt bike in sand. Just bogs and doesn’t feel good
I guess it depends on who you are, my 16 year old son is absolutely amazing on his dirtbike and rides that thing everywhere out there and jumps it insane too. I can't ride a dirt bike for crap and it would take me where it wanted to go lol. It's just a talent to ride in the sand that I don't have. He rides a new 250 4 stroke and it goes absolutely amazing out there. He has a paddle tire for it but a lot of people on dirtbikes just use there knobbie in the sand.

You'll need a sand tire on the rear and a little more power, but it definitely has potential for sand. Try it on that surface without the sidebars too.
Took mine out to the dunes yesterday aswell, performed way better than expected! Def waiting on someone to release paddles

You can’t run 3S on them btw. Burns up the gyro.
Bec the gyro and should be good. It's an 85 Amp esc. We shall see. 3s is necessary on this in the sand.
@@RCNuts pretty sure I saw on another video that someone talked directly to Losi and they said the number 1 reason you can’t do 3S is the gyro. It’s so new it’s probably designed to get by on 2S. Gives them room to expand later for the very thing you’re needing. Probably let’s them keep the cost down too.
