@@Farrukh3D I have been working with ZBrush since 2002. I know what I'm talking about. In about 3 years, everyone will switch to Blender. And yes, ZBrush is still my favorite program.
The painting tools have existed already in past versions as well. Now they are more easy and flexible in access. This is vertex painting method which is kind of different from texture painting system which needs updates. Hopefully, there might be new development soon in that area.
Very useful video! I noticed the asset shelf with the Grease Pencil the other day but haven't had a chance to play with the sculpting brushes yet, looking forward to it!
Good to see blender is at least trying to catch up with zbrush. I don't mind learning a new program but last time i tried to learn zbrush, it was an actual nightmare for me. Everything seemed super unintuitive but that was nearly a decade ago so maybe ill try it again sometime but RN I'm really enjoying the new blender features. So many massive improvements have been made to blender over the last few years.
Thank you very much for your feedback! Good to know! There are some areas where Zbrush is still strong and Blender is not meant to be complete replacement for it. However, Blender does offer lot more then any other 3d software out there in terms of features, tools and being free as well.
@@Nikkattsu sadly they haven’t fixed it, i am a top rated freelancer on upwork using blender as a primary software, wanted to increase my skills in sculpting so started learning character creation in zbrush, but its interface is so boring that i have lost my interest in Zbrush, very less shortcuts makes it very difficult to even do simple things like to hide or delete the selected mesh, will still try to learn it and hopefully complete the course that i have bought

Hi, Thank you! For the shortcuts, due to new changes you will have to assign your own for most brushes. Right click and set as you need to. You can also right click on any brush and click the online manual (F1). It will open blender documentation for sculpting to see. Here are few already set (G Grab, M Mask, S Smooth, P Pinch, K Snake, C Clay, V Draw)
No, but we can sculpt cloth folds and other details while working in blender. The results can be mix of good and not so. Marvelous designer is going to be better as it is designed to make clothes.
Due to asset shelf, some changes has been made in the backend. There is not much I can do here. Brush changes will not auto save and remain with each file. If I understand correctly, is that is your concern regarding the brushes in sculpting here?
@Farrukh3D That's exactly the problem. People have shown their concerns regarding this over at Blenderartists Sculpt thread, but the devs and the guy responsible for the UX doesn't seem to care much.
did they add multithreading support for sculptmod recalculations? or its still unusable with 1mil+ verts as before? update: if any1 interested i tested, 517k verts 1.1m faces mesh, adding decimate planar mod freezes blender for 6.5 min during that time blender uses one core, 3.8m verts mesh in sculpt mode trying to brush makes my pc freeze 2.5 min 64gb ram 12 core ryzen 12gb 3060gpu, i see literally zero difference compared to 4.0 performance
Yes, there are performance improvements in the backend when working with high resolution models. Although not same as Zbrush level but still better then before and less lag.
if no skin pores or tiny wrinkles needed, which is only viewable for closeup shots ( i think such level of details barely add anything to aesthetic unless it is necessary), right now it can handle enough polycount for most situations. But turning on/off multires is kinda slow for high res mesh.
was about to add the same comment.. we need performance improvement, remesh faster, something like 3dcoat, and overall sculpting when working on really high polycount

Yes, most brushes are modified forms of the main brushes. It just helps in working a bit faster without changing settings again.

Blender is taking away so much market from modo
Modo was one of the best modeling software. I have used it before. Sadly it is going away now and will be dead.
