Tim Sale is a personal favorite of mine. Absolutely love his Batman art, especially his Joker. Something in particular I love is that he bases a lot of character’s designs around certain color palettes that are the central focus of their design.
Tony Daniels' work captivated me during Grant Morrison's run. The art felt like a more gothic version of Jim Lee's plus all the original villain designs from the Club of Villains were top tier, feeling like real Silver Age characters revamped for modern audiences.
I'm really surprised that Neal Adams isn't on this list mate. My number one is definitely Neal Adams for sure but love all the artists ya mentioned still

So glad to finally see this video! I really liked your picks. There are so many great Batman artists, personally I would've added Bernie Wrightson, Darwyn Cooke, and Tim Sale. Maybe they're a little generic (I still have a lot to read and no list is ever set in stone), but they earned a place in my heart. Great video, cheers!
I love Kelly Jones' art. I mean if you love Batman, how could you not? It's creepy, grotesque, and Batman looks like a scary demon when Kelly draws him it's awesome.
Good taste mate and so good to see Kelley Jones get some love. His Elseworlds stuff opened Batman up to a young me; hoping the long ears come back in style after Caped Crusader hits on HBO
This is a respectable list. My list would replace Jones with Neal Adams. I agree that Aparo's later stuff is less strong but I think that was primarily because he was no longer doing his own inks.
For my favorite Batman artists personally Lee Bermejo Andrea Sorrentino Darwyn Cooke David Mazzucchelli Bruce Timm Some honorable mentions: Mike Mignola, Tim Sale, Norm Breyfogle, Neal Adams, Greg Capullo, Carmine Infantino, Brian Bolland, and Alex Ross.
Well, sir, you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that that’s the good thing about artwork is it’s all depending on the eye of the beholder. With that said, in my opinion, this couldn’t be more way off if you tried lol. But I digress, have your fun young man.
For me, in my formative years as a comic book fan, it was definitely Jim Aparo's Batman which I felt was the signature Batman. Bruce Timm's Batman is a close 2nd while he doesnt get much love as a Bat-artist, I thought JH Williams III had an insanely beautiful artstyle that suited the character and tone
Great list Mr. Rogues, loved the video. There is one artist you missed, a little known, obscure guy named Neal Adams. You should check out his work....
As a fan of Batman and an artist. Norm breyfogle’s work is undeniably mesmerizing. His art work style with Batman is a match made in heaven. Wish we got to see more work from him. Rip 🦇
So many great artists to choose from that its hard making a list but the three that are without question my top 3 are Greg Capullo, Neal Adams and of course the late great Mr Breyfogle as number 1.
bodybuilder Batman is actually what I prefer. A Bruce Timm type of Batman. One that fits the era of NY the original stories were going for. Superheroes represent the era in which they were born, so Timm's old school style fits naturally with heroes in general.
Grade A list. Not bad at all. Some of my favs: 1. Jim Lee - no one should dismiss Lee just because it's "obvious" or "everyone would pick him". Everyone picks him for a reason. Lee pretty much decided what comics ought to look like for two decades. I once heard someone say that it's unfortunate that Lee's best art of his career might be All Star Batman & Robin, which is sad because everyone hates that comic, but upon really diving into the art, it's hard to argue it's not Lee's best work. Joker is definitely Lee's weak spot in drawing Batman's rogues gallery, but even he looks good in ASBaR. 2. Kelley Jones - Batman #522 by Moench and Jones, "Swamp Things", where Batman chases Croc to the "swamps South of Houma" was my first comic book, so Jones's Batman was my first. I LOVED everything about that comic, the story, the atmosphere, the creepiness of it all, Moench's narration and the way he writes inner monologues. That was when Jones was really, really ON. 3. Greg Capullo - He might be the modern Breyfogle in terms of Batman expression. I've read all of Snyder/Capullo's Batman. He's quite good at making an emotionally expressive Batman. I think I've seen every emotion from him in their time together on the character. And Capullo's style is just meant for Batman. But, what would you expect from a guy who did all those Spawn comics? 4. Jason Fabok - He's like Jim Lee and Gary Frank combined. A master artist who didn't do enough at DC. 5. Tony S. Daniel - He, like Ivan Reis, Lee, and Van Sciver all sort of fit into that in house "DC style", but I don't care. That's the DC style for a reason. Because it's great. There's something about Daniel's style that I just love. He is a better artist than he is a writer though. His Deathstroke run was kickass though. And Tyler Kirkham, who was born to draw badass characters like Deathstroke, took over on art after the "Godkiller" story, and it got better from there.
I always liked Jose Louis Garcia Lopez’s art and well as Don Newton and Irv Novick, there are always felt stylish impactful, and seamlessly fit in with the stories of the writers perfectly.
