Ah yes, This is Lana’s transitionary album. It’s the ‘midpoint’ where old lana (born to die, Ultraviolence, Honeymoon) switches to modern Lana (NFR, Chemtrails, Blue Banisters, Ocean Blvd)
white mustang is actually metaphor for why am I staying, or wild mustang at the end of the song which stands for wild mistake. I love this reaction, it's very accurate, I'm happy ya enjoyed album too!!
@@jpsmithart7565 of course that is, but theory which makes sense, while song being also about g-eazy. Lana don't have to confirm that, actually while (if) she wrote white mustang to be meantful as why am i staying, then there's no reason from her to talking bout' it, because it's just homophone, she was doing more metaphors like that before, example in ultraviolence or salvatore.
@@Ray-zq1sp that's not tik tok theory, but theory which was going for years, since white mustang got released, and one which is probably true while it making lot of sense. Lana just used homophone in this song and she was actually adding them to her other songs before. It don't have to be confirmed by her, because homophones are never about to be confirmed from artists, but to listeners guessing them, of course if they're hearable like in white mustang
I don’t get the “hate” for this one. Sure, it’s Lana’s least cohesive album, but it’s one of my favorites-maybe even top three. But then again, it’s incredibly nostalgic for me, so I’m probably biased, lol.
@@donnybuoy for me this is not my favorite album as a whole, but a lot of the songs on the album are some of most favorite and most listened to of her discography, which is interesting. i think you hit the nail on the head when you said it’s her least cohesive album
For me, it comes down to one word - “dated” I can personally remember the time and environment I was in with the release of the record. Trump being elected President, every artist making political statements and songs (as they should). Even with the collaborations with other mainstream Pop icons at the time (The Weeknd and ASAP Rocky) gave this “dated” effect - especially with the track “Summer Bummer” with Playboi Carti’s obnoxious adlibs placed all over the track. It reminded me of other Pop songs that came out at the time like Pharrell’s adlibs all over Ariana Grande’s Sweetener album. That was the big trendy sound in Pop in 2017-2018. Like the Bascome Twins said, most of the songs sound very mainstream, due to the fact so many different producers and collaborators were a part of this album. It was very catered and digestible to everyone - and I loved/needed that in 2017. But now, I just don’t like that sound anymore. Maybe because the sudden end of the era with Mariners and Venice B*tch coming out in 2018, I was already interested with her going back to Alternative sound. I’d rather much prefer myself trying to relate to Lana’s music rather than Lana trying to make her music relate to us - the fans.
I became a huge Lana fan pretty late in the game, when she dropped MAC and VB in 2018, and weirdly enough LFL was the hardest album from hers for me to get into, it only clicked in 2021. The funny thing is now I don't even understand why it took so long cause it soooooo good
I never really got the "not cohesive" comments, i feel like the theme is pretty straightforward- there's the Lust side up until she realizes not everything is about her feelings during Coachella and turns into the Life side of the record. It's fun
@tobi6876 The “not cohesive” comments aren’t referring to the themes, it’s referring to the sound. As the Bascome twins noted, the first half feels more mainstream, with a hip-hop influence, and the latter half is more folksy-along the lines of Lana’s typical style. But like I said, I love this album and it’s among my top three favs of her’s.
This gives me liiiiffe! Lana cannot be real, no matter how many time i listen to her I'm always wondering if she's human. Her melodies and writing is soo alien, i can't wrap my head around it. If its one person i would love to meet is her.
I think what's different with LFL is that Lana on this album observes and comments on how things are at the present moment, instead of singing about past relationships and experiences
It's insane how this album ranked from being my least favorite to now being in my top 2, I hadn't fathomed!!! Even tho it's not a really cohesive album, who cares if it's not, it has a lot of diversity and personality, and the highs in it are really high
I find it incredible that they didn't do a reaction before this album. Like everything from Lana del Rey, another magnificent album, from start to finish. I thought the reaction to the song Lust for life would be a little more exaggerated, but the important thing is to enjoy it. It is very noticeable how they feel each song and pay a lot of attention to it. That's great. Great reaction. Hoping there will be more of Lana's discography. Her music is the most beautiful thing in the world. I lie. In the Universe.
My favorite genre of music: The Weeknd collabing with the pop girls. Love me harder, off the table, die for you, save your tears, prisoners, star girl interlude, lust for life, one of the girls, you right, 6 inch… like come on
this album took me a time to appreciate it really but now I have a space on my heart for him. next is nfr please dont take too long to react to it please
Did you know that 12 years ago, on September 26th The Weeknd discovered Lana Del Rey through tumblr, and was the first one to ask BBC Radio 1 to put 'Video Games' on their playlist. In fact in an interview Abel admits that when he met Lana, he felt that he had found the girl who was writing in her songs, that is, I found her muse for her songs. The Weeknd and Lana met in 2010, the year in which the Weeknd launched "Trilogy", and it is seen that they became very good friends, so much so that the voice of a woman who sounds in "Lonely Star" is inspired by Lana del Rey and it should be clarified that Lana helped a producer the album, "BBTM".On the surface, The Weeknd and Del Rey might seem like very different artists. After all, The Weeknd’s music hip hop and soul sound feels more in line with someone like Ariana Grande. Meanwhile, Del Rey’s career lives much more in line with rock-infused pop. However, the two artists are much more similar than the genres of their music might reveal. For instance, The Weeknd and Del Rey both often capture a dream-like quality in their songs. In addition, their lyrical content dips into dark territory, such as their preoccupation with drug references. So it makes sense they would work well together. And so they have. Beginning with The Weeknd’s 2015 single “Prisoner,” they’ve worked together on five songs.Although the Grammy Awards have yet to bestow a trophy to Del Rey, her work certainly makes a huge impact on The Weeknd. In fact, the “Blinding Lights” singer once revealed just how vital she is to his own music. In a 2015 interview with Pitchfork, The Weeknd explained the interconnected nature of Del Rey’s music and his own. “Me and Lana have been friends for a long time. I’ve inspired her. She’s inspired me. I feel like we’ve always been talking to each other through our music. She is the girl in my music, and I am the guy in her music. It’s just this ghostly collaboration that feels the most natural on the whole [Beauty Behind the Madness] album. Even the whole monologue intro on “Lonely Star” from [my 2011 mixtape] Thursday - I just realized now that that’s Lana. That’s Lana’s voice. I mean, it’s my voice pitched up, but it’s her. It’s who she is. She was definitely the first feature that I wanted to bring on this album.” The Weeknd and Del Rey are more than just collaborators, it seems. The pair’s music - according to The Weeknd - is spiritually linked. Perhaps this revelation puts into context not only the collaborations between these two but their respective catalogs as well. As great collaborations he has Prisoner, Party Monster where Lana makes Background vocals, Stargirl Interlude, Lust for Life and Money Power and Glory an unreleased remix by The weeknd for the album Kissland but the original is from Lana's album Ultraviolence.Anyway, long life to this wonderful collaboration. Abelana Forever 🥰🥰
This album is so good minus the rap features. I love how she mixed the 70’s hippie chick aesthetic for the visuals with a trap sound for most of the tracks. Her mind 😍
