I wondered whether it was all post production but after seeing them live in Manchester UK It's all real! and videos don't do them justice. they're just incredible!
Pau started singing while drumming naturally ever since she first started drumming at about 7 years old , there is a video available for that , cheers man.
All 3 Ladies are physical beasts, there are some videos of them dead-lifting and working with weights. Rock hard bods, and yes, Pau sings on a treadmill to train for singing and drumming, and this concert in Mexico City is at over 7,400 elevation. No air! Ale and Pau perfected English before Dany, and its fun to see in older videos how they will correct Dany's English like only sisters will do!
i saw an interview yesterday of the warning when ale was just like 6 or 7 and she was pictured on camera playing with her stuffed animals and it was so adorable and insane hows shes a total bad ass now
Pau is just amazing. These sisters won the musical genetic lottery and then worked their butts off (through their TEEN years) to get where they are today. Amazing. 🤟🏼🎸🥁🎸🤟🏼
I will always love these videos from the Teatro concert but it's crazy to think how easily they've topped that one with the recordings from the Pepsi Center and by now I fully expect them to so again at the Auditorio Nacional next year. Can't wait to be part of the crowd for their biggest headliner yet next February!
Singing and drumming competently is hard enough I'd call it uncommon if not rare. Doing both this skillfully on the other hand is unicorn territory. I can't think of more than handful who even approach this level.
My favorite cover of theirs is atlas rise at the whisky and Motley Crue “kickstart my heart” from the warning cave … both of those by their power trio set up gets you fired up! 🤟
Regarding pronunciation, it's not just Pau. Dany is also very clear in most songs. That is one of their almost hidden talents: singing with clarity to the point where most listeners will hear and understand the lyrics on a first listen. Very much enjoy your reaction videos to the Villareal sisters.
the cardio training for her to sing so smooth without her vocals going all waka waka is alone impressive but the brain power it takes for any drummer to operate 4 different limbs doing for different things and then sing a melody on top of that............... mind blown! the only explanation for this ability is dark magic! lol
Bro, IRL I'm an English editor. Your diction is perfect. I always assumed you were a native English speaker who had moved to Europe. Also props to you for standing up for women and exemplifying respect. You do it in a way that helps dudes learn rather than by shaming.
I talked with her father and the mixing engineer at the Pepsi Center show last fall. They have a very heavy gate on her mic so that the drums do not bleed over into the live sound. They also do quite a bit of post-processing for these live videos. It is really easy to end up with a big hot sonic mess as hard as she pounds her drums. But they do a really good job keeping her vocal line pretty clean.
Pau absolutely can sing lead on pretty much every song of theirs, it's just limited by how much she can do while drumming. I've seen some people's vids of soundchecks where she is singing Evolve, Ugh and others. The only part I've seen her refuse to do was Dany's vocal run at the end of Dust to Dust. Also, there's the Montreal acoustic set they did 2 years ago when Ale was sick. Pau sang a few of the songs that were normally 'Dany' songs.
Not only is Pau in one of the best bands around, and one of the best drummers , but to me she is one of the best artists on the planet..not taking anything from Dany and Ale but Pau is very special..her sisters will agree 🌎✌️
You'll enjoy this one: Pau taking lead on MONEY during a radio show appearance a couple of years ago. The whole thing is about 17 minutes. MONEY starts at about 8:21 th-cam.com/video/bf_k7szQAac/w-d-xo.html
@@BryceKatz I remember that one. The DJs were like, "Wait. You're the drummer?" And in true sister fashion, Dany is beaming with pride. Those DJs were pretty cool, too.
Check the version of 23 at the Pepsi Center. Posted recently on the official channel th-cam.com/video/YWjhsVdIH2o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7LFuS9U82nNl6IPD It's about a year after the Metropolitan show. In a venue holding 4x the crowd. And the bass in the mix is like a thunder
Music reactir Phil Zero noticed that the drumming in this song was deliberatly arranged in such a way that it doesnt interfer with the singing while at the ssme time sounding really good. So basically the lyrics snd singing performance was areanged around the drumming so that Paulina doesnt exert too much on both at the same time. It is subtke and i wouldnt had catch up on it but it is there. That in itself is another example of how brilliant The Warning are,.how much thought they put into their songs
You should check out "Narcisista" (sp?) from the same concert. She comes out from the drums to be the true front woman and I think its her drum instructor that takes her place behind the kit. You haven't seen so much energy and confidence yet. She so lives up to "Mighty Mite"!!!
Bear in mind that Ciudad de Mexico (Mexico City) is 7300 feet above sea level, making Pau's performance ( all the girls, actually) even more unbelievable.
Many people wonder how Pau does it? She runs on a treadmill in order to build up the stamina to sing and drum at the same time and maintain her breathing control at the same time. She takes her craft seriously beyond the shadow of a doubt.
"Narcicissta" from the same concert, Pau is the frontwoman and she just is all over the stage. It's in Spanish but I don't really care. It's just amazing to watch her performance. BTW, her latest drum teacher played drums.
watch Enter Sandman played at Pepsi Center a couple of months ago, it is done with small orchestra...just fantastic...catch Narcissista at Teatro Municipal couple of years back, Pau comes off thge drums to lead vocals on front stage...she is a natural lead singer...
Pau said in an ITW sing and drum at the same time is the first thing she learned with her first teacher . She said she even pay attention now. It's natural for her she sung some times lead singer out the drums. Like in Narcissista in the same show
Reminds me of the movie Purple Rain when the club owner told Prince; "No one understands your music but you". This song is deep! The pain is *UNBELIEVABLY* and transparently screaming horribly lonely heartache! *YIKES*
Excellent commentary. If you want a "proud parent" mioment regarding confidence... watch them many years ago singing "Back in Black" with Pau dwarfed by her kit and singing solo lead and part way through when she shouts out in her very little girl voice... "I wanna sing it". Take Care
Succinct reaction, I just couldn't agree more than what you said, and probably this song as the days pass by will sink from your mind to your heart and you will end it up loving Pau's voice because those songs that she sings are so perfect for her. Even though I've been living in the USA for over 30 years, my English language and writing are not even close to theirs. So I am still amazed with them and keep asking myself the same questions: How did they write their own songs? And more than 20 of their songs I can listen over and over, the same way I listen to Pink Floyd's songs and other iconic rock band songs as well. I am mexican and love rock music, but these girls are something else, I have never witnessed anything like this in all mexicans rock bands.
imagine not just singing perfectly.....but singing in a language that's not yours.......AND playing drums at the same time.......AND AND running the entire show from a laptop beside your drumset. Pau is amazing. blows my mind
Pau said in one of her interviews that her teacher was teaching her singing while drumming since the very beginning. And only because of that she could get so fluent with this.
El rock de The Warning es me parece una mezcla de rock pesado entre Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Who ,Judas Priest y la calidad de Pink Floyd, mezcla lo todo y da The Warning
The girls were raised bilingually, went to a bilingual school. Pau is a monster on drums, allowing her to sing and play drums (including a syncopated bass drum patterns much of the time) with not hint she's doing so in her vocals. She is at her best on emotional material like this, Breathe, Black Holes, and Revenant.
Recommend you check out Pau's cover of Radioheads Creep. I've said it before on your live streams a couple of times, but don't have the cash to throw to request it. Hopefully someone else will or you'll just decide to check it out. Rock on
Good point, you'll never hear US or UK reactors comment on how good their English pronunciation is. They wouldn't tolerate even a hint of foreign accent.
The warning is good! But the next Big band to blow up is our kababayan Missioned Souls… they’re a kids band, family band and the vocalist is 12 yrs old and you know Pinoys pronunciations when singing is spot on. Please react on this band Missioned Souls start with Foo’s My Hero or Hysteria or Paramore.

As good as this show is, all the stuff they are dropping from Pepsi center 14-15 months after this, with twice the crowd and way better camerawork is next level.
Not only is singing while drumming like independently controlling a fifth limb, she is doing it at the 7700 ft elevation of CDMX. 🤯
Also running the show from her Laptop.....multi tasking at the highest level!
Also doing her taxes....lol

Absolutely love The Warning....appreciate you AR!
Such a great song and performance.
Pau is a molten ball of energy, capable of going nuclear without warning. It’s amazing to watch this little badass in motion
.
pau is a drummer, pianist, singer, composer, poet, front woman, rock star, etc etc, i think since she was born, like modern mozart
There's video of her singing lead while playing AC/DCs Back in Black at the tender age of 13... Pau is a Beast
