The Middle East is a region that after the discovery of oil, has gone through one of the most accelerated modernization processes in the world. It went from being basically just a desert 🐪🏝️, to becoming an example of the modern cities including some of the tallest buildings in the world.
Countries like The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Saudi Arabia have spent Billions of dollars building towers made of glass with futuristic looks. But there is a country that has gone in a completely different direction.
I’m talking about the beautiful country of Oman 🇴🇲
This place has rules against building higher than 40 meters, rules to keep the country relaxed like the fact that is forbidden to use the horn of the car, or disturb public tranquility, and when you arrive here, and you meet their people, it all makes sense. Omanis are extremely chilled, nice and welcoming, and their country definitely represents their style.
I 100% recommend visiting this country because not only is the oldest country in the Arab world, but they are truly trying to conserve their culture, and it’s amazing

You do hear a story or two about Omani Visa sponsors confiscating a workers passport from time to time, but it isn't endorsed or is a common practice. From what I saw most foreign workers were quite happy in Oman as they made way more than double what they earn in their own countries. of course life conditions aren't the best for some of these workers, but from what I witnessed this was usually because they focused on collecting money rather than living in normal standards as the money they earned was worth more than the comfort for them.

@@CheetahNLAh yes, Wikipedia. I'm from Oman, and I'll let you know the real experience with them.
Now, generally the laws around LGBT are rarely applied, and are saved for some extreme cases. I'm hoping you read the "public scandal" part? They only do it when said person has a large following behind them. I've lived here for 20 years and I've only ever seen it applied once.
Aside from that, there are a few Omanis who do identify with LGBT who live a (somewhat) completely normal life. I personally know some people who are gay.
However, you're right on the fact that Omanis in general aren't that fond of them. That is because Omanis don't really like promiscuity, and want to preserve their traditional Islamic values.
That's not to say that LGBT people aren't welcome, as Omanis also pride themselves to be very hospitable and tolerant to guests. As long as a person doesn't preach their western values to them, you'll generally have a good experience with them.
