A lot of Michael's characters in his movies are very menacing but in real life he's a very kind, compassionate, and down to earth person. How has he not won an Oscar also?
@@tariqquamar He should of won for supporting actor for either Platoon or Shadow of the Vampire. I haven't seen the Lighthouse yet but TH-camr Chris Stuckman said him and Robert Pattinson are amazing in it.
I first got to know him as Agent Nelson Van Alden on boardwalk empire. I have to say I’m really impressed by how cool and charismatic he is during the interview. Gonna have to give his new show a shot.
He is an amazing, unique talent. The more learn about the more I'm impressed. He appears to be a a great father too. I now want hear his music and everything he does artistically. I'm guessing he's one of our all time greats who purposely flys under the radar because of his humility and grounded character. Way 😎 and legit. Wish him the best.
If you ever seen the 90s comedy There's Something About Mary with Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz you will immediately recognize Jonathan Richmond. Honestly, I'm glad that you can discover them now. I think you won't be disappointed.

I enjoyed talking with Michael in Chicago when he was directing a play at A Red Orchid Theatre a while back. It being the second time he'd directed-the first time also at AROT-I thought he might have said that to Colbert. But humility is this great artist's calling card.
I actually had the privilege of working on Shannon’s directorial debut “Eric Larue” and from what I saw I think it’s going to be a great movie that he did a fantastic job directing. Hope he directs more films or shows in the future.
I totally embarrassed myself when Michael Shannon was in Shreveport, LA at a famed Mexican restaurant there, known for, among other things, they're lethal margaritas. It was while he was shooting Take Shelter, and as he was leaving the restaurant he came by our table. I recognized him but couldn't recall his name because, margaritas, so just blurted "I KNOW YOU!" He smiled a tad sheepishly, likely embarrassed for my slightly slurred outburst, and scooted by. Damn.
Shannon's got the face of a king or president--someone who's deep in thought and about to launch into an eloquent speech about the nature of death and destiny. But what he actually says is simple, down-to-earth, no-fluff stuff. It's an interesting combination.
I don't know who is choosing hosts for SNL these days and I've actually enjoyed them all just fine but Michael Shannon would be such a good host and it's such a missed opportunity for them not to grab him right now
My brother was convinced for a good decade that he was related to Molly Shannon. To the point that when shown their Wiki pages, felt the need to mention that they aren't always accurate. I think he still suspects.

If Mr Shannon does well with this one, maybe he will try his hand at direction again. It can be refreshing for an actor to work behind the camera and learn some of the rigors of turning a script into a good film.
Dems should all vote for Liz Chenney for Speaker and watch Republicans go nuts... seriously you do not have to be a sitting member of congress to be elected speaker and Chenney has shown herself to be a person of integrity... doesn't seem right that a person of her patriotism gets shafted... they should definitely leak out in advance that they plan to do this.
