    Just wanted you to know, I just received my Kx3 and really appreciate your taking the time to step through its functionality. Still relevant six years later. Thanks and 73's

    If you turn “VOX” off in CW mode, you can still hear the keyer sidetone - there is no need to turn the power down or use a dummy load if you just want to practice.

    I was just looking into the KX3 for QRP... but by the time I added the features I wanted the cost ballooned to almost $3,500.00.

    The KX3 is a Great Radio however there is a lot to know and learn. Glad this has helped you learn some of the advanced features of the KX3. See some of my other ones which should help with other operating guides! Good Luck and 73's. Steven

    Hello Steve. Just Subscribe to your Channel about your videos on the KX3. It's very informative. Been viewing your channel since 2021. I was playing with the controls on the KX3 and change my initial calibration from the radio to the one listed on the manual and it made -1 mHz change on the radio. Drove me crazy. I called Elecraft and Doug taught me how to do the calibration changes. First time I have encountered calibration on radios. I have a lot pictured on my QRZ page. Since I'm not an electronic, software or electrical engineer it takes time for me to understand the hobby. Manuals don't comprehend much to me but TH-cam videos do. Sometimes I have to watch different channels to get it. Yours is precise to details. I just wanted you to know that. Thanks for your hard work on this. Stay Safe. 73 Ruben KD6CWI

      +Jeff Jolie How do you like your KXPA100? Is it worth the price? I am thinking of the new K3s but just do not know if I should wait until I can put up a descent HF Antenna

    Nicely done ! I use Panasonic Eneloop batteries in mine. There are 2 types, one is 2000 mah and another that's 2700 mah. The 2700's are nice.

    40k in views and only 150ish likes? Maybe a tripod? Now that I've whined, thanks for the video, just got a KX3 2 weeks ago and still learning about it.

    Hi Steven!
    Really like to watch your videos about your KX3 since I'm in the marker for one myself. Going in a vehicle based project of mine, a Volvo Tgb13 military off-road truck.
    Found your channel by coincidence, searching for something Ruger .22 related (Amphibian owner and silencer producer here...)
    Cheers from Arctic Norway.

    Informative. However, saying press this button while the button you're pushing is off camera wasn't helpful.

    Please get a tripod or steady cam. Shaky video degrades the value of your presentation significantly. It really makes it hard to watch. No PANS or VERY SLOW PANS if you must. The KX3 is a great radio but the learning curve is pretty high, good video helps flatten the curve. 73 K3JH

      +John Hucke This guy is taking time out of his life to make this helpful video and you're bitching about minor shit that doesn't amount to anything. And he does use a tripod most of the time but sometimes he moves the camera around for better views.

    • @geekverve
      @geekverve 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ELiTE_OpTiic I agree with John. It's constructive criticism. I also missed quite a bit, because the shot was so tight I often couldn't see the buttons he was pressing. Great video quality, great information, but it could have been a lot better and a lot more helpful to those of us who are both new to the hobby *and* know very little about the KX3.

    • @9mmsteve
      @9mmsteve  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +ELiTE_OpTiic Thank you...I am not a professional news station so I do the best I can making videos that I think will help KX3 owners. Thank you for backing me up. I know they are not perfect but I do the best I can.

  • @douglasalmquist4052

    You didn't have the camera pointed to the buttons you were pushing. #NotHelpful

  • @douglasalmquist4052
    @douglasalmquist4052 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    For much of the button-related instructions the camera is pointed elsewhere so we can't see what you're doing. That makes it pretty hard to follow.
