I am still in disbelief. Still shaking. That was one of the greatest Grand Finals I’ve ever seen, up there with 2015. It had it all. Panthers won with sheer guts, determination, brilliance, and discipline. They made one sole error that entire GF, resulting in a near-perfect completion rate. I truly thought they were gone after the third Ezra try, but they fought back, cementing themselves in history and legend.,
Very well said except for 2015 GF. The Rugby League Purists know it was an average GF that ended excitingly with some Morgan magic. It's significance was huge cos it was Thurston's & the Cowboys 1st Premiership but mediocre by GF standards. Please watch the 1989 GF cos after last night, only 2023, 1997 & 1989 should be mentioned as great GF's. Not 2015.
Shows how good the broncs are. They were nervous in the first 20 minutes just like how they were against the wahs, made many errors didn't complete sets ... They still hung in tight and only conceded one try under all that pressure. I reckon the broncos put most the pressure on themselves tho they made too many errors and too many chances to penrith. The fact they were only 2 down leading to halftime is incredible - then be able to come back and score a hattrick, insane. They just couldn't stay in that physical battle for the last 20 and they were too fatigued. Gotta feel for the broncs they played hard and they will be a threatening team next season
@@MartyMcFly3 a tier below the three you listed but honourable mentions to 03 and 16 in terms of play quality and game in the balance, both with deserved wins for the underdogs too
Critta's a beast! No wonder he's leaving, he deserves a pay rise. He's been one of the best centers in the comp for a while now. Made crucial plays in those last 20 minutes to come clutch

The score was 24-8 at minute 65… I’ve never seen a team just toss away a sure thing like that before in my life, a once in a decade opportunity and they f*cked it!… not only do I feel sorry and embarrassed for Kevin Walters. But my support will be with the Dolphins in 2024. Broncos have lost me
What a ridiculous comment! The Broncos are a VERY young, inexperienced team when it comes to GF’s, whereas the Panthers have played in the last FOUR! THAT is what won them the game! The Broncos did NOT throw the game away and to say that demeans and disrespects BOTH teams. I’m a Storm supporter and I have seen them choke at times, so I know what it looks like. The Broncos made very few mistakes, but they were unlucky that one or two in that last 20 minutes allowed Penrith to capitalise on them. The Panthers only won by the skin of their teeth, even so and NO other team has had them on the ropes like the Broncos did, in a Grand Final. The 202 loss to the Storm was a lot like the loss the Broncs suffered last night and as Isaah Yeoh said, the Broncos will be back next year. But why am I telling you all this? You’re just a fairweather supporter, so not really a supporter at all. You complain about the Broncos throwing the game (They didn’t) and yet you are prepared to throw THEM away after a loss like that, which was not a disgrace, by any means. You don’t deserve to be allowed to be supporter of any team. Ask a player, they’ll tell you that.
@@BigAl53750 I’ve been a loyal broncos supporter ever since I can remember mate… maybe I’m just over seeing my guys charge to success then fall off the edge of the cliff when it counts time after time year after year… maybe this is just frustration talking I don’t know
How come there is no talk about the saturation on Samoan culture all over the grand final last night but people are complaining about our welcome to country gotta swing both ways doesn’t it
Stats would never be reversed though because the Broncos play the more expansive and risky style of play which naturally leads to more errors than a grinding style. Penrith could play a riskier and more flamboyant style to blow teams away quicker potentially but they would probably lose control of games and make more errors. Why would they change when they keep winning comps with a game plan of minimal errors, field position and strong defence? Broncos look a class side that could easily win a comp in the next year or two but I think it would have to be sooner rather than later, before Reynolds retires. He wasn’t good in the GF but he’s their game manager. I doubt they would have been anywhere near the GF without him.
