These variables can be tweaked to make new car a better buy. Especially in states like karnataka where road tax is sky high, it's better to buy a used car. You also get to change cars often with lesser depreciation. Also lower insurance cost as IDV is low. Maintenance of majority of Suzuki cars remain the same through out.

I also did the maths and somehow I was surprised that new car made sense on paper since zero dep insurance milta and you can use it for next 10 years rather using two second hand cars in that period. I think it totally comes down to the actually real condition of the second hand car one is buying. Maintenance is the major cost difference. Cost of owning (buy -sale) per year doesn’t really show much difference.
