I think he’s half ethereal because if you look at the ejections he sees himself as an ethereal because he’s half the “he’s a murderer” if you notice in the same scene he’s in the same cross walk with ethereals in the same location implying that he might be able to hear ethereals thoughts because he’s part ethereal so that’s why he takes medication to prevent him from becoming full ethereal but still reaps some benefits and some downsides of being 50/50 human and ethereal so he’s judged on a two way street the ethereals thinks he’s a murdered because he kills them then he worries about humans judging him by finding out he’s part ethereal and hurting people in the case he fully converts

I'd also like to believe that he's not in a time loop and instead it's just his everyday life of waking up, going to work and coming back home. Showing that he doesn't have anything interesting going on and just wants to go home and sleep meaning that he's possibly depressed? Or that he sleeps as a coping mechanism to deal with his trauma

Yep, white crows are a result of genetic mutation. They're quite rare and often suffer other physical impairments like bad vision and hearing. And that's also combined with them being easy targets for predators. Basically, their chances of surviving in the wild without help is pretty low... One more "fun" fact: many languages have a saying where a person that doesn't fit in with others is called a "white crow", which is pretty interesting to think about in the context of this trailer. I wonder how much symbolism they really implied with albino crows and Harumasa here...? Also I am pulling cos I know since Haru is free he's not gonna be that strong and won't have a rerun in like a year but I want my boy to perform wel!! He deserves it :') Miyabi will have a rerun 100% so I'm fine with a skip
honestly pretty giga brain with the pulling AOSFIJAOS AND ALSO THE ANALYSIS TOO!!!! it's always so impressive how we can learn so much from the metaphors we see in promotional material like trailers, makes me so extra curious about the actual details of his condition/history!!

It's definetly one of the best ones so far because of how much info is conveyed through animation and just a few lines of dialogue! Like, people are still finding new tiny details and symbolisms. I'm super excited for his agent story as well >:D

HOLY SHIT... I just realized something. You know that enemy ethereal they show in the trailer, right? Thanatos. It fights with a bladed arm, that also functions as a bow. You know what Harumasa's weapon is? A bow that is made of conjoined blades. He very well may have been that type of ethereal in the past, or was becoming one, and was stopped via experimental medication. That, or the medication is slowing/halting his transformation into a Thanatos-like ethereal. I really didn't think much of Harumasa before, but I am very much so invested in his story now.
Could you imagine if there was some sort of Jekyll and Hyde situation with Harumasa, where sometimes in the Hollow he transforms into an Ethereal but has no memory of it afterward once they bring him back somehow? Practically everybody in Section 6 has something going on with their blood; I wonder if Harumasa has Ethereal blood in him from the experiments we've seen. Hell, maybe that was something they were doing in the Helios Academy and Belle and Wise's teacher purposefully set off Hollow Zero to stop them from continuing the experiments. They can take this story to so many places!!
I think its just showing his day to day like how he was not really getting good sleep and all the pills laying around, then he eventually get more and more organized then finally he is not sleeping on the bed and no pills laying around he is out early not on bed maybe finally with the Gang already HSOS 6.. Just my thought after watching rather than being in a loop he just grew. like facing his fears somehow after joining HSOS 6.
I'm already used to the funniest character actually the most serious character trait... I'm always "Haha, this guy is so funny and stupid" and later on in the game "wtf, this guy is the most stoic and smartest character in the game!!!"
This trailer is so good, and challenges everything we thought we knew about Section 6, especially Harumasa and Yanagi! My personal prediction is that as a child Harumasa stayed in a Hollow too long and almost became an Ethereal, so close to corruption that his eyes turned yellow (just like Pompey's did before he turned), but was saved at the last second with some serious anti corruption treatment, injected directly into his neck to keep him from turning. The experience traumatized Harumasa so much that he is still affected by it today with night terrors, all themed around his greatest fear: turning into a monster. The pills are sleeping pills to help him go to sleep, and the reason why he is constantly trying to skip his shifts is because he's actually terrified of going into Hollows and getting fully corrupted. However, despite, or perhaps because of his trauma, he has decided to become a member of HAND and the HSO Section 6, facing his greatest fears every day to protect people from experiencing the same trauma that befell him as a child, and Yanagi knows all of this. Her ribbing of him and preventing him from taking sick leave aren't done out of annoyance or frustration, but out of love. She's telling him that she knows he wants to be here, he wouldn't have chosen to do this if he didn't, and she's not gonna let him take the easy way out and run away. Instead she pushes him to fight those fears and become the hero that saves others from the fate he's most terrified of. This is just fan speculation of course but still! This was our comic relief character! ZZZ you have NO RIGHT being this good!

Ok this may be a stretch but...How do we know of ether aptitude levels? To know how long one can stay in a hollow, how much ether one can take before turning. What if harumasa was one of the test subjects for ether aptitude, forced to take certain doses of ether so that they could study how much he corrupts and/or turns into an ethereal. Him beign labeled a "prodigy" not because of his combat skills, but rather because as long as he didn't fully corrupt and turn ethereal he would end up healing from the corruption with time and help, an ideal test subject
Being that he's a s rank, f2p will go for him he's literally put as a "look at me I'm still good" as a f2p player I would prefer a c2 of him but I've been eyeing miss miyabi since beta. All my money and else is on her 😅
