    I've been using my Amex Blue Cash Everyday for 3% back on Amazon (when my rotating cards don't offer 5%). Also using the Blue Cash for 3% back on gas and 3% at grocery stores. It's become my favorite card to use. I would use Custom Cash for gas but since I spend more on eating out - I use it for restaurants instead.

    I just got approved for it. I only plan to use it for Amazon purchases. I will use mostly my AMEX Blue Cash Preferred for groceries, which gives me 6% cashback. I use AMEX Plat for travel.

    I have the Amazon Prime Visa. Overall, I would say it's been a so so card. It is great you can utilize it beyond the Prime Rewards or maybe it's due to me being a chase customer because they constantly offer me offers ie, low apr for 6mo, offers for more points at select retailers outside Amazon et al. I will say you can get the Amazon Visa as Chase has lax the 5/24. I was at lol/24 and approved. However, take it as a grain of salt as it also depends on other factors.
    I only wish Amazon would allow the points to transfer to Chase UR points...this would be a game changer despite it being a co branded card.

    I ended up getting the AMEX Business Prime because the spending cap doesn’t effect me, I despise hard inquiries and since I already have multiple AMEX cards I didn’t receive a hard pull, I also didn’t want another new personal credit card because I have two other personal cards I want this year one of which is a Chase card and I’m at 3/24, and lastly the AMEX Business Prime offered a $125 gift card so the bonus was higher.

    Affinity FCU has a card that pays 5% back for Amazon purchases. I haven't looked at it closely, but since I'm considering the Chase Amazon Prime card in the not too distant future, I'd be interested in seeing someone compare the two. Which one would be more beneficial for who?

    I’d say if you have prime then yes cause it’s 5% back. Otherwise the normal 3% back isn’t really worth getting a separate card when you can just use a catch all 2% card.

    • @avburns
      @avburns 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You give up some warranty protection so I wouldn't do this with a big ticket item, but you can use a 5% category card when grocery is the category and buy an Amazon gift card and get your 5% that way (without having to be a Prime subscriber). I needed to replace my stationary bike and saw that I could get one used from Amazon at a reduced price. I saw what the total would be by adding it to my cart; then went to Kroger and bought an Amazon gift card and used that to pay.

    Do you pay interest on an item that you might return before the 30 days? That's really what I'm trying to figure out. Ie if I paid half my card bill, but I know I have a few returns, do I accrue interest on the returned item on say the 29th day? I hope that makes sense for you

  • @luxurycardstore
    @luxurycardstore 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have both the AMEX Business Prime and the Amex Prime card from Chase and at one time or another I have found them both to be useful.
    However thanks for alerting me to the fact that you can take 18 months to pay interest free for purchases over $500. I have been considering getting a Canon Pixma Pro 200 printer but at $549 I kept hesitating.
    Not having to put it all up front (immediately paying off the card to avoid interest) because of 18 interest free payments is now making me think I want it as a birthday present to me. Besides I haven't shown that card much love in a long time and I don't want Chase to yank it away from me.
    Thanks for the heads up

      interest builds. it's not like a loan interest payment, carrying a balance on a card is going to be harder and harder to pay off the longer you keep it. the best and safest way to use your card is pay off your full balance by the due date every month.

    • @kotaspremiere2931

      @@isaiescamilla550 What ive found is you don't want to pay off all of your balance before the closing snapshot because then they might not report utilization to the credit bureaus. What i've found is that you want to pay down about 94% of your balance so you have about a 6% utilization reported. under 6% reported is excellent.
      you never want above 50% utilization reported as it COULD hurt your credit from what ive heard. So generally pay down balance before closing and then pay off everything before due date. So far it's worked wonders for me over the years. Now to be fair that's just if you care as much as i do about keeping a good credit history.

    • @tittumsmcsprinkles9020
      @tittumsmcsprinkles9020 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You can, but shouldn't. You're starting off at a $5500 limit (at least that is what they gave me). 30% of that is $1650 and as you should know anything over 30% utilization at statement close is going to ding your score. Technically, you could make the larger purchase and then make an immediate payment that gets what you owe below 30% utilization before statement close but I personally would not risk it. As for APR itself, this is why I don't finance anything and treat credit cards like debit cards. If you pay on time and have no previous statement balance your APR is 0%. I never understood when APR kicks in.

    scam card, you make a payment of $160 they then charge you $120 for interest on each payment. so, $40 of that goes to the real payment, the interest is based off each day you don't pay the full amount back.
