Why does the winner takes all electoral votes from the state? Wouldn't it be more fair if the amount of electoral votes would be proportinal to the results? Imagine being in situation where candidate A gets 50.2 million votes and candidate B gets 50.1 million votes, and then A gets all votes despite the tight fight....

If registered voter is in other country votes from finland's embassy and those votes are made few days before the ''early voting''

After the recent British general election
    Labour had 35%of the votes.
    But got 401 seats.
Conservatives had 25% of the votes.
    But got 115 seats.
    The success wasn't proportional :
Below is a fairer system that both our countries may benefit from 🙂 :
Subject: How many Mps would vote for electoral reform?
Mid answer :How many turkeys would accept an invite to a Christmas Dinner?
    Answer:
It depends how honest the professed vegitarians are!
    The meat of the letter:
A new voting system for Britain:
A mere hairdresser makes suggestions for a fairer voting system, highlights below: 🙂
If King Charles lll received a petition which revealed that the majority of his subjects wanted a better voting system, wouldn't it be appropriate after careful concideration for him to grant this? Rather than parliament deciding (as the MPs have got a vested interest?)
Something to debate: A new voting system for Britain? The Cherished World Champion voting system
    C.W.C.
I propose the following voting system as a much fairer alternative to our present one, Its name refers to the hope that Britain should set a good example to the rest of the world in its democratic practice, to help shame the dictatorships and biased systems of governments putting their people's needs first before their own pathetic and malevolent selfishness.
My late father's initials were C.W.C. Clarence Wilson Clough and he strongly believed in fairness.
At the next Election....... Firstly a citizen's manifesto should be compiled as a result of unbiased questions suggested and approved by the public and parliament. This could be filled in on-line or even at the polling stations during elections (refreshments being greatfully provided to the willing participants for their voluntary effort!)
When it comes to voting the only change would be that your voting paper or if modernisation was concidered timely(assigned touch screen monitor form) would have an empty box at the bottom in which the voter could put a number. The number would refer to a name on display in the polling station, and perhaps as many as 50+candidates would be standing as national representatives with their numbers next to them,(a bit like dishes are printed out in a Chinese or other favourite takeaway restaurant.) These representatives would represent a constituency of opinion, and in picking one, the voter would automatically abstain from being able to vote for their local prospective M.P. candidates.
    Every Vote Will Count!
When the votes are counted there will be four kinds of representation:
One : The person with the most constituency votes will be the local M.P.
Two : The unsuccessful local candidates will be able to vote on behalf of the voters who chose them in each debate in the House of Commons.(This would be via an internet connection to the speaker). They would enjoy this privilege no matter how few voted for them, they would not however be allowed to speak or otherwise act as an M.P. (they could however also tell everyone who voted for them, that if they didn't get elected they would transfer their votes to the main party representative.)
Three: Any individual will be able to vote on their own behalf if they register with the speaker via the speakers office (if this is technically feasible) as opposed to picking a representative.
Four: The national representatives will be able to vote on behalf of everyone who voted for them and take part in the life of the House of Commons just like the M.P.'s. (The major parties could also have national representatives,so people could vote for "Latest Labour" say, but not for Adolf Corbyn Woke-Trotsky Esq.who (Get Len in Labour) had picked as your local candidate 🙄)
Finally, votes will be proportional with the number of supporters i.e.(If 6 million people vote for a national candidate they would have a vote 100 times greater than a local M.P. who only got 60,000 votes.) Voters should also be able to change who they support online in between elections, either by transferring their vote to another previously unsuccessful candidate (from their local constituency) or a national candidate (representing a constituency of opinion). (A local MP could potentially be voted out mid term if enough of his previous backers swopped to the next popular candidate!) All house of commons representative votes would be individually recognised by a kind of credit card voting system on the floor of the commons.(A graphic display of the voters decision could also be exhibited as a simple holographic cartoon to interest children and adults with learning difficulties.) The speaker would vote for or against any motion according to the electronic poll her or his computer would register, (as a result of the contact of the unsuccessful local candidates) and individual (one vote voters). I hope you are interested in my system, I would be very happy to discuss it with you or see it surpassed by a better or fairer idea.
Yours Sincerely, (Feel free to pass it on, or not 🙂) Elton S.P.Clough
