Hey Sean. I'm a 34 year old PAL gamer, I discovered your videos after my daughter was born in April '23. They've been perfect for the long nights when she's up and I'm feeding her which can often take an hour or two. So as a kid, I always remembered playing a demo on the PS1. I can't remember where I got it from, or whether it was a standalone disk or anything. All I remembered is that you could play as a boy or a girl. One of them had a hat. One of them had some kind of rings they held. And it was sort of side scrolling in a forest location. That demo was awesome to (what I now know) would have been 10 year old me at the time. But then it was lost, I never could remember the name of the game, and I never ever played it. Thanks to you, I've discovered Threads of Fate, and two days ago fully completed a game that I've been waiting 25 years to do so. And that game has been every bit as amazing as 10 year old me remembered the demo being. Now why we got a demo in PAL for a game that never got released to us I'll never know. But whatever. Thanks for these videos man. They're not only keeping me sane through the late interrupted nights, but you've genuinely made a life goal come true for me. - Sam0n (34, English, really fucking tired, but ecstatic to have played and finished Threads of Fate FINALLY).
Aw I'm delighted to hear that, if theres any game worth remembering and playing through after 25 years it's Threads of Fate. Wishing you and your family a nice uninterrupted nights sleep (its a long shot with a baby, but still) ❤️
Iznogoud's visual style reminds me of Link: Faces of Evil. Like the art is kind of nice but the artist had never heard of the concept of level design, or were even aware that what they were making was for a video game.
I played a demo I had for Threads of Fate over and over again as a kid but never the full game because they didn't have it for rent at Microplay. Finally played the rom last year and it didn't disappoint.
Your review of Threads of Fate was great. You said it all: it's lovable, memorable, and charming. Thank you for giving this game the care it deserves. 👏👏👏
I loved threads of fate i played the new game+ multiple times but Fancy Mel's minions and their dimensions were rough for sure. if you can make it there you can make it through the rest of the game. the game has good sound too and i found that it was often helpful as a cue.
Threads of fate is so up my alley, as a huge brave fencer fan how have I never heard or this. This artstyle is amazing, mints hair is absurdly good looking
When I was a little kid, I had to force myself through Iznogood, plus that strange Dreams game from your olders videos for an entire summer. My dad redeemed himself shortly after buying me one hell of a combo (MGS, Tekken 3 plus Tomb Raider 3)🥰 RIP dad 💔

Yeah... we Europeans were pretty awful at designing platformers back then, huh? It's like almost, nay, every old platformer based on an European IP somehow ends in disaster with messy level design, unfair enemy placement, and sometimes even janky controls. Yeesh...

I binge watched this entire series in about 2 days, and man, what an underrated channel, and I truly appreciate the commitment. The PS1 is my favorite console. Ever. So it's an absolute treat to find a channel that almost exclusively focuses on its vast and varied library. Also suggesting Panzer Front for the wheel. It's probably the most authentic tank simulator on the console, and despite the horrific render distance of the PS1, it still manages to do long range combat - albeit very awkwardly. Keep up the good work! Your hard work is appreciated. Now on to binge watch the Japanese equivalent series. 👍
I swear, I remember playing Threads of Fate as a kid, but every time I try to think of it I can never remember what it's called. recently discovered your channel and have been binging everything, your videos have quickly become my favorite thing on this channel. The aesthetics, the music, they dry wit, the incredible ability to give even the most horribly broken games a chance, and of course, the obsession with obscure PS1 ephemera all seemed designed specifically for me to love it. i'm absolutely gonna subscribe to the patreon, but in the mean time, some game suggestions! (couldn't read The Wheel very well so apologies if any of these are already there) Trap Gunner: a weird vs. trap based run and gun arena game? almost nothing else like it out there Vandal Hearts 2: an SRPG with a core mechanic so weird and broken (you and your opponent move simultaneously) that one of the most popular romhacks is one that patches it out swagman: i don't think this game is good. it feels like PAL jank. but it's definitely Something. Tecmo's Deception: the original goth-core haunted mansion trap-em-up. all of the games are interesting but the first one really appeals thanks to the first person thing. Future Cop LAPD: if you ever teach your cat to play video games check this out, maybe the best multiplayer game on the system Koudelka: survival horror rpg, like 8. hours long, one of my all time faves Jad Cocoon: studio ghibli pokemon Kartia: another SRPG, with art by yoshitaka amano and a weird card based monster system Looking forward to your future videos, and All Praise The Wheel
Hard Edge is probably one of my 10 fav PS1 games.. : ) Really a personal "guilty pleasure". Such fun, iconic characters. The story was fun too.. and he voices! Overall super entertaining. Also, you can't say Rachel's voice actress didn't put her heart into it ^^ That "Yahoo!" still sounds as energetic today as back then.
im a giant fan of the 4th one. I think Threads of Fate's a PSX hidden gem. Always thought Mint deserved a come back in another game. She has so much charisma. Roo, not so much...
You mentioned a game and showed a screenshot of it, a game i was trying to remember for decades! Perfect Weapon. All the googling of the world and i ended up recognizing it randomly so thanks i guess hah
i expected the wheel to become a sentient being on vol 13. threads of fate was the first game i bought from psn when i got a ps3 back in the day and i never understood it back it cause i was young and dumb
The way Rachel runs in Hard Edge looks just like Jutah’s run cycle in Silent Bomber, at least to my eyes. Nobody probably cares but I think it’s an interesting detail
Awesome episode as usual. This one had it all, cool overlooked 2nd party games, eurojank based on comics from the 1970s and an underrated masterpiece by Square. It's what the PS1 is all about!
Another great episode, and worth the wait! And I've had to add a couple more games to my shopping list (and it's not Iznogoud twice). I truly do "love to see it". Nice work!
Ooooh man i almost searched forever for Hard Edge… Never remembered the Name of that jewel. The nostalgia hits hard. Played that as i was 14 yo and it was the first Game i copied on cd ROM, for my chipped ps1. Thanks for bringing back teenage memories ❤
I grew up on Threads of Fate! I tried it years later on PSN and I have no idea how child me beat that game twice. The platforming was by far the hardest part for me.
Oh Jaysus auld Acidonia is a raging sadist, I remember reading about Iznogoud back in the day and its reputation was impressed upon me from a young age.
Tank Racer's soundtrack is produced by Ramone, Bay Tremore, Vim and other module tracker artists active in the late 90s. For those that know, obscure but gold.
Round and Round it goes!! (And again , Just in the nick-of-time!) I'll admit, I got all gitty when I saw the Notification of you Uploading the 13th Episodes!! (And that's weird by itself; Good, but weird.) Loved the Video! And as usual, Top Quality!! Threads of Fate was a nice surprise! NOT at all what I had in mind, ... Gonna have to add this one and the Tank Racing game to the bucket list. :) Merci!! Keep on Spinning! :)
Iznogoud is a real..missed opportunity. It would have made a lot more sense as an adventure game but I guess that's a lot harder than cranking out a very very eurojank platformer. Also it's real weird to see Microids still being around and making Space Adventure Cobra and Grendizer games..
I really don't know why you don't have way more subscribers. Your videos are so high quality, and have genuinely funny humour which is a really hard thing to get right and a lot of youtubers completely fail at it and try and force it. You just seem like a complete natural, like you definitely seem like someone who it'd be fun to have a pint with. Keep up the good work, more subscribers will eventually come. I'll share your videos where appropriate on places like reddit, hopefully that helps you out a bit.
I just binged this entire series in like 4 days, love it. Thanks to I Finished A Video Game for shouting you out! May I recommend Road Rash and Kula World? Had a ton of fun with both as a kid (the latter I only had the demo but I played it over and over) and you've inspired me to want to revisit them myself.
Thanks for checking out the channel, glad you enjoy the videos! Since the Pysgnosis video only took a brief look at the each of the games, I'd say it's worth taking a deeper dive into most of them through this format. So if you wanted to suggest Kula World or Road Rash as your pick that's A-OK with me, the only rule is I limit it to one game per person, so pick whichever is your favourite :)
another awesome video and I am so glad you got to enjoy a bit of Tank Racer, that game is a slice from my childhood that's stuck with me :) it always felt a bit more of a Kart Racer at the highest difficulty with it's chaotic races and AI difficulty plus the obvious Item move pool but it was still fun nonetheless
Love this series. Perfect aesthetic. Hope to see Micro Maniacs make it into a video of yours one of these days. Keep it up, sir. And thanks for the content.
Threads of Fate is one of the first games I think of when I get nostalgic about the PS1. Still hate that they made a "to be continued" ending but never made a second game.
Nice variety of games, one of the few episodes with just games I've never played before: - Tank Racer: the description, gameplay, look etc. of this game is SO one of a typical PS1 racing game, I'd love to try it ! It reminds me a lot another game called Buggy, which is similar but with buggies, and have also a very high difficulty on the second part of the game. - Iznogood: I remember the cartoon from my childhood, never played the game but knew how bad it was, I want to try it just for fun. - Hard Edge: melts various of my favorite gameplays form the PS1 era, a must try for me ! - Threads of Fate: you just showed me, what is probably the first Squaresoft game I'm ever interested to play on PS1 ! I hate turn based RPG games, but I love action-rpg's, I didn't know Squaresoft did one on PS1, and such a good looking one ! Now a must have for me. Thanks for the video and see you for the next one !
I really enjoy the series and was so glad to see a new vid from you! Life has been crazy busy for me so I only watch 20 minutes at a time usually, but I just wanted to send this comment your way to say that I'm a big fan of your content, even if I only slowly get through it.
Legend tells of a man, and his Wheel of Providence, who can take basement-tier euro platformers and spin them into TH-cam gold. His name is Sean Seanson.
@40:11 - omg, Perfect Weapon.. slowwwly pivoting in place to kick wolves, endlessly, like you're in some circle of hell bad fighting game devs get sent to.
A friend of mine recommended your channel last week and I have been binge watching your videos since. Killer content, keep up the great work! I would like to recommend Toshinden 4 for the wheel. The series definitely is not one of the best fighting games on the PS1 and the 4th game did not release at all in NTSC-U so it tends to get overlooked a lot. Like the other games in the series it is a bit clunky to say the least, but I think it does play the best out of the series has a suprising amount of content for a PS1 fighting game including a rhythm minigame. Plus it has some really flashy special moves and a good soundtrack to boot!
Again another epic video Sean, I really enjoyed it for sure. I played a demo of Tank Racer way back in my younger days & enjoyed it but i agree was tough for sure. Iznogoud, I never played it & seen it in plentiful supply in game stores in Dublin back in the day & often heard that it was terrible & after seeing you playing it, I have nothing but respect for you taking the time to torture yourself with this & i agree games like this are better left alone & that's also coming from someone who has played a ton of crap games & often being laughed at by my mates & bro's for doing so over the years. Thankfully with age you begin to realise that your time is more valuable LOL. I owned Hard Edge, got it cheap back in the day & i loved playing it but i just love anything that plays like Resident Evil, this was one of the better clones for sure. Threads of Fate looks beautiful & it is a game that i have yet to play & have been looking more into it recently so i will be having a go for sure, it looks epic...! Again Awesome video & can't wait for the next 1, Cheers...!
In case any of you don't know, Larry Kawaska is a pun on the argentinian way of saying Delicious Cum (La Rica Wasca, wasca being slang for semen). So yeah, that name has been in a lot of videos now, huh.
Now that I finally made it through all the videos in these series I would like to recommend "Starfighter Sanvein". I'm not sure how oscure and forgoten exactly is, but for me is a hell of an original game that I discovered very late. I'm so glad it wasn't already picked by the wheel... as it provides.
This might be your best video yet m8, i know ive been saying that alot. Amazing work. Not often I put this amount of time to watch such extensive videos being honest so the fact that my attention is constantly retained is a nod to the quality of the work. I take them in chunks lol! I really like the look of Hard Edge btw! Looks like the parasite eve engine?

I played Tank Racer as a child, it was included on some PSM demo disc and I loved it :D
recently discovered your channel and have been binging everything, your videos have quickly become my favorite thing on this channel. (couldn't read The Wheel very well so apologies if any of these are already there)
Trap Gunner: a weird vs. trap based run and gun arena game? almost nothing else like it out there
Vandal Hearts 2: an SRPG with a core mechanic so weird and broken (you and your opponent move simultaneously) that one of the most popular romhacks is one that patches it out
swagman: i don't think this game is good. it feels like PAL jank. but it's definitely Something.
Tecmo's Deception: the original goth-core haunted mansion trap-em-up. all of the games are interesting but the first one really appeals thanks to the first person thing.
Future Cop LAPD: if you ever teach your cat to play video games check this out, maybe the best multiplayer game on the system
Koudelka: survival horror rpg, like 8. hours long, one of my all time faves
Jad Cocoon: studio ghibli pokemon
Kartia: another SRPG, with art by yoshitaka amano and a weird card based monster system
Looking forward to your future videos, and All Praise The Wheel
Hard Edge is probably one of my 10 fav PS1 games.. : ) Really a personal "guilty pleasure".
Such fun, iconic characters. The story was fun too.. and he voices! Overall super entertaining.
Also, you can't say Rachel's voice actress didn't put her heart into it ^^ That "Yahoo!" still sounds as energetic today as back then.
im a giant fan of the 4th one. I think Threads of Fate's a PSX hidden gem. Always thought Mint deserved a come back in another game. She has so much charisma. Roo, not so much...
Mint is one of my favorite characters ever. She's so entertainingly disagreeable.
If you know Japanese, there is always Duo Princess. It's a short fan game where you can play as Mint or Maya.
You mentioned a game and showed a screenshot of it, a game i was trying to remember for decades! Perfect Weapon. All the googling of the world and i ended up recognizing it randomly so thanks i guess hah
Aww yish, new episode :3 Sadly us waiting for pachinko games will, most likely, once again, be gravely dissapointed.
A Spanish magazine described Hard Edge as Resident Evil Junior. I think it's accurate! Good video. I've miss The Wheel.
Another banger of a video. Keep it up.
I'd also like to add 'Blaster Master: Blasting Again' to the wheel if it isn't already on there.
You got it! :)
I love the bit where the Wheel goes all Wheel on us
Drop everything, a Sean Seanson video just dropped. I remember Slowbeef playing Hard Edge years ago.
Video games are cool but I’m just here to hear you say 3’s. It tickles my eardrums and makes me happy.
Threads of fate is one of my favorites. It's so nostalgic that it's bittersweet. Makes my longing for better days and simpler times pretty intense.
i expected the wheel to become a sentient being on vol 13. threads of fate was the first game i bought from psn when i got a ps3 back in the day and i never understood it back it cause i was young and dumb
Eh, we’ll check back on vol. 69 AI needs time to learn just like people after all
OMG I used to watch Iznogoud ALL THE TIME ❤ You've unlocked a dear memory. Thank you!
Oh hey look, the best retro gaming channel on youtube just uploaded. Splendid.
21:49 this game is amazing, it nailed the will 2d shovelware aesthetics
The way Rachel runs in Hard Edge looks just like Jutah’s run cycle in Silent Bomber, at least to my eyes. Nobody probably cares but I think it’s an interesting detail
Awesome episode as usual. This one had it all, cool overlooked 2nd party games, eurojank based on comics from the 1970s and an underrated masterpiece by Square. It's what the PS1 is all about!
Glad you enjoyed friend! Congrats on the win!
Another great episode, and worth the wait! And I've had to add a couple more games to my shopping list (and it's not Iznogoud twice). I truly do "love to see it". Nice work!
its so crazy how whole games with thousands of sales can just be forgotten
Sounds like Hard Edge was one of the big influences on Ghost Bleed.
Fun fact: Iznogoud is pronounced "Is No Good" with a french accent.
I grew up on Threads of Fate! I tried it years later on PSN and I have no idea how child me beat that game twice. The platforming was by far the hardest part for me.
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :D
That jingle in the intro fills me with too much excitement already.
What I'd give to have a remaster of Threads of Fate on steam.
Is that the same Vim as the owner of the lair?
Good to see the series back!.
Hard Egde is a game my brother did buy during my childhood, never got far though for some reason.
Fun seeing the Rephlex logo there in Tank Racers!
Iznogoud is a real..missed opportunity. It would have made a lot more sense as an adventure game but I guess that's a lot harder than cranking out a very very eurojank platformer. Also it's real weird to see Microids still being around and making Space Adventure Cobra and Grendizer games..
I would like to put forth Puchi Carat to be subjected to the whims of the Wheel. Finally almost caught up on all your videos!
Consider it done, and thanks for watching :)
Managed to find a copy of Threads of Fate for really cheap at a used game store, so thankful you showed it off so I knew about it 🙏🙏🙏
Hope you enjoy! :)
Thanks for the kind words! Appreciate you watching :)
In your Mario kart example, it looked like the waluigi in first place dumped the blue shell onto second place.
I'm not sure what happened, but some people are freaks at Mario Kart so anything is possibe.
Ah I see you covered Kula World in your Psygnosis video, awesome.
@@SeanSeanson Awesome! Kula World for sure.
@@Sorrow366 poifect! Will get it added for you now :)
another awesome video and I am so glad you got to enjoy a bit of Tank Racer, that game is a slice from my childhood that's stuck with me :) it always felt a bit more of a Kart Racer at the highest difficulty with it's chaotic races and AI difficulty plus the obvious Item move pool but it was still fun nonetheless
Glad you enjoyed friend, congrats on being chosen!
Love this series. Perfect aesthetic.
Hope to see Micro Maniacs make it into a video of yours one of these days.
Keep it up, sir. And thanks for the content.
Thank you! I got Micro Maniacs added for you, would love to play it again myself :)
The Wheel Returns! *ALL HAIL WHEEL!*
it's funny you are using the "dawn of a new day" zelda majora's mask sound effects in your playstation videos :P but loving em keep up the good work
I drop a little love for Sega and Nintendo where I can :)
Threads of Fate is one of the first games I think of when I get nostalgic about the PS1. Still hate that they made a "to be continued" ending but never made a second game.
Nice variety of games, one of the few episodes with just games I've never played before:
- Tank Racer: the description, gameplay, look etc. of this game is SO one of a typical PS1 racing game, I'd love to try it !
Thanks for the video and see you for the next one !
appreciate you watching friend!
I really enjoy the series and was so glad to see a new vid from you! Life has been crazy busy for me so I only watch 20 minutes at a time usually, but I just wanted to send this comment your way to say that I'm a big fan of your content, even if I only slowly get through it.
thank you friend! It'll be here for as long as youtube lasts so take your time :)
Edit: OH, there's a Threads of Fate too. Lucky me :3
Oh damn it's T.R.A.G. I love T.R.A.G. The music makes me feel and sexy and shiz.
33:58 Samus, is that you ?
Consider it done! Appreciate you watching :)
this is the greatest youtube channel of all time.
Tank racer is my first PS1 video game, not other, is that game.
Glad you enjoyed it pal! Thanks for watching :)
I need to see Roswell Conspiracies talked about, thats my pick for the wheel
Oh nice pick, i'll get it added now!
I cant believe your channel is still so small.
Very fun video, as always.
Thanks friend, I'm doing better then I thought I would so I'm happy enough haha
Hell yea!!! Glad to see both this series and you back Sean :)) hope you've been having an awesome 2023
In case any of you don't know, Larry Kawaska is a pun on the argentinian way of saying Delicious Cum (La Rica Wasca, wasca being slang for semen). So yeah, that name has been in a lot of videos now, huh.
I'm not even mad, just impressed.
I use this series as a guide for how to expand my PSX collection
Now that I finally made it through all the videos in these series I would like to recommend "Starfighter Sanvein". I'm not sure how oscure and forgoten exactly is, but for me is a hell of an original game that I discovered very late. I'm so glad it wasn't already picked by the wheel... as it provides.
Ah a fine pick indeed. I'll get it added for you now!
Oh thank god man I needed a long PS1 video from you right now, you have no idea
I sensed the vibe and the wheel will provide 🙌
Iznogood looks like a by the numbers Amiga puzzle platformer. I'm amazed it doesn't use Up to jump, lol
Thank you great wheel for providing for us once more and thank you Sean for the banger video.
Appreciate it bud, it's mostly just an hour of rambling but it's what I love haha
another top notch quality video from my favorite Irishman, well done Sean
will definitely give threads of fate a try
