Aww Those Jamaican ladies selling the peppered shrimp were so lovely . I absolutely love meeting people like that there salt of the earth and the shrimp looked amazing 👍
Hey Mike.. Lovely! I like the coolness of the ladies. The peppered shrimp looked spicy. That crepe was nothing to play with. Safe travels, enjoy... ❤️🐞😋
My late Nana used to call it the pope’s nose and when I asked why she would say because that’s the last part to cross the fence. She was Irish Protestant, lol. She died in the 70s in her 70s.
Jamaican food is very unique. It's a mixture of African, Irish, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Indian, Chinese, and Middle East recipes. Plantains, root crops and peppers are eaten a lot down there which was handed down by the Natives.
I can do a good Jerk Chicken, but it pales compared to that cooked over Pimento wood. Fun Fact: The unripe and dried berries of the Pimento Tree is the spice Allspice.
I got married in Jamaica in 2006 and stayed at all inclusive resorts. I ate jerk chicken every day! The best I found was a tiny roadside stand outside of a resort named Xtabi, south of Montego bay. Still dream about that chicken and ray ray's (the owner of the stand) rice and beans.
I'm amazed that the jerk chicken vendor didn't get all enterprising on you and offer to sell you a Red Stripe to go along with the chicken to cut the burn! But that aside, that all looked delicious as usual, and how the heck long were you in the air between Montego Bay and Rio?!
I 👁🗨 see some food that I would try and or eat being shown by the attached joint's;✌peace & respect to the restaurant owners, cookers, servers and the listed as Mike Chen that's showing and telling about the food.😊
You seemed so uncomfortable In Jamaica lol don’t try to please other cultures if it’s not genuine I do love watching you though but it just seemed inauthentic.

It’s a cold night where I’m at and thanks Mike for being somewhere warm
My family used to call that part of the chicken ”the last part that went over the fence” or the “pope’s nose”😂😂😂😂😂

when ever I roast or air fry up a while chicken the back/bottom of the chicken is always the best piece.
Watching him just eat the entire shrimp with all its legs and antennas is so wild. Those are basically big insects.
My Gran used to call the chicken butt the Parsons nose 😂
"If I lived in Brazil... I would just eat fruit everyday"... yep, one of the main reasons I moved here!
I didn't know that it gets 🥶❄️ cold in sao Paulo....who knew?

Ngl, the food looks horrendous. His vlogs helped me put India and Jamaica at the bottom on my travel lists.
Indian and Jamaican food are exquisite! Some of the deepest flavours possible. But at the same time each to their own. Enjoy what you enjoy.
You seemed so uncomfortable In Jamaica lol don’t try to please other cultures if it’s not genuine I do love watching you though but it just seemed inauthentic.
He looked perfectly fine and did well speaking to those local ladies.
