I have done all the work on a 2000 S500 - but this applies to all other W220 cars such as S430 and S320. I have recorded the footage but editing is taking time. So, as I finish editing each part, I will be publishing them. At the end, I will probably have one last video that includes all the parts.

You can do this job for little money compared to what a shop would charge (probably over $2,000. Here are the part and tools I have used:

I have a 00 s500 and it only blows room temperature when I set it to the coldest. I replaced the compressor and condenser and it only fixed my issue for a few months. Looks like I'm going to need to replace them again and i will also be replacing the expansion valve and dryer also this time. Not to mention clean the lines with compressed air and AC cleaner. Mercedes wants thousands of dollars like usual so I'm stuck troubleshooting and replacing my own parts. I live in the dessert so fixing the AC for next summer is crucial! Thanks for making this video.

You are welcome, Mike. Please make sure to check for leaks at Schrader valves and all connection points first. Your compressor and condenser may not need to be replaced.

I just had this replace due to a leak at on a 2020 GLE with only 62k miles. $110 in parts and over $700 in labor. Wish I would have seen this video before taking it to the dealer.

I wish dealerships didn't overcharge so much...I understand that businesses and mechanics have to make money, make a living, and be profitable...but, man, some just charge toomuch.

Hello, Im at the point with the 2 bolts at 2:25. What size are you using to remove them? I’ve tried 3mm and 3.5mm and T15 but they either don’t fit or they are jumping the bolt

Hi, whatever you do, don't strip the bolt. Use only Allen or Hex sockets. But the correct one. You need a set of small sockets, insert each until you find one that perfectly fits. Then press in all the way and start turning. I don't recall exactly, but I think it is 8mm.

Finaly gonna do my full ac service on monday my only problem rn is the bower motor turns on when it wants to. When i start the car it works somtimes and other times i start it and nothing. I replacedes the resistor and blower motor cause the motor as already giving to much resistance and well might as well do the resiator but its still not turning on

Hi, if you have replaced everything already, then you may wish to check for resistance or corrosion at the plugs and connection points or shorts in cabling.

Hello Adam, take it out of auto. Set the temp manually for both sides. The problem may be behind the dashboard with flaps not switching correctly.
