Love your videos! I am a first year teacher and it feels so hard to take mental health days because I don't want my kids to get behind and sub work just never seems to be as effective, but I am learning that you can't expect your kids to be at their best if you are not at your best! You have to take care of yourself first! Congrats on graduating :)

I'm a first-year teacher this year, and I have not taken a single day this year yet, but I have one scheduled for June because I will be out of town. The reason it is hard for me to take the days is because I know they give them to us, but I feel like we have so many days off worked in because of breaks/summer, and it is just simply so much work to plan for a sub😅

Hi! I recommend making a “master plan” sub plan with all of your normal routines and procedures at the beginning of the year. It makes it so easy to put in the sub plans for math or reading when you need to take a sick day or personal day. Most subs actually just want you to plan stuff on the chrome books so that is very easy! Just a tip :)
