    yep, when buying bags make sure they fit in the chamber right... also it looks like you removed the teflon tape on the seal bar and that is supposed to stay on... it will help your seal strip last longer...

    I watched your video and you mentioned that the sealer bar was sticking, well just purchased the same model. There is a heat shield material that covers the heating element and yours doesn't have that, it a tan color thermal shield

    Does it suck? Yes! (the 20) Had to return mine because it was defective, the seal bar raised each time and I had to snap it back in because the bags were blowing up and gave poor seals. Sent it back and got a replacement, which wasn't new but a out of box replacement. Did the same thing as the first one. Customer service was ok, they issued a refund. I purchased one from another manufacturer and couldn't be happier. Happy sealing!!! :)

    Received the USV32 for Christmas.....have vacuum sealed everything in the house .....I've played around with the time and have found about 55 seconds ideal for raw meat, more air is removed from chamber which in turn means more air is removed from inside bag and results in a tighter package...... but that's just my preference......

    • @TuckerC270
      @TuckerC270  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll definitely be experimenting more with it. I vaccum sealed everything I could lol. So far all the meat I've sealed has been good. But only time will tell.

    Now that it's been a few years since you made this video I'm wondering are you still using your 20 and how is it holding up and do you wish you would've had something bigger? I'm in the process of deciding which one to get and I would appreciate your thoughtThanks. I will be using it mostly for the freeze dryer and I'm only packaging for three people so quart and two court bags are all I use.

    • @TuckerC270
      @TuckerC270  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am still using it. My only regret is not getting the bigger one. It is starting to show its age and although still usually works good, it's vacuum starts to fade with repeated constant use. Like if I do 20 or 30 sessions in a row. I've probably ran 3000 cycle through it between me and friends and family. I use it almost daily.

      @@TuckerC270 I really do appreciate your thorough reply! I think I'll get the 32 for the size because I, like you , would probably regret getting the smaller one. I'm so glad to hear it's been a good machine. It's a huge investment.

      My next one will be an oil filled compressor vacuum chamber. But between me and my buddies, we could do a dozen deer a year plus all the every day stuff from sandwiches to meats from the market.

      @@TuckerC270 thanks for that input I have a 2000 square-foot garden and I butcher about 60 chickens a year. I don't have a freeze dryer, but I do my big share of dehydrating. I have a feeling I'll be adding bulk to the 32 to replace air to make it work more efficiently for my smaller bags but I'll be glad to have the bigger ones someday I'm sure.

    Do the chepaer bags work in a food saver?
    How close to 30" of vacuum does this get?

    • @TuckerC270
      @TuckerC270  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Andy, the cheap bags will not work in a food saver. A food saver requires a way to pull air out which is why the food saver bags have the channels in them. And as far as vacuum goes, this thing will hit 30 and hold it. After more use, I've come to realize that even once it hits 30, it can still get more air out. I'm now vacuum packing meat for 45 seconds and can tell an even bigger difference. Thank you for the comment and veiw.

    • @andyh8239
      @andyh8239 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TuckerC270 Perfect vacuum is around 29.92 actually. I'm not sure how close you can get to that with liquids boiling off, etc, but I do know the Food Saver only reaches around 9-15.
      Not sure how accurate the guage is, but you could add water and see how cold of water you can boil.

    I have never seen a vacuum sealer with exposed heat bars. They should have a special teflon tape over them.

    • @TuckerC270
      @TuckerC270  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would think they would. They had a protective tape over them but in the instructions it said to take the tape off.

    • @kwd57
      @kwd57 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TuckerC270 Any way you could post that part of the instructions? You need to put it back on. I have seen the tape on Amazon, if you need some. I would not seal to many things, one after another, since that sounds like it has a dry piston pump. The duty cycle may be pretty low and you may overheat the pump. You should get a machine with a oil rotary pump, if you want to use it many times in a row. The best chamber sealers have Busch pumps in them.

    • @TuckerC270
      @TuckerC270  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @TuckerC270

      They came straight from Amazon. I will recommend on getting thicker ones if you are doing long term storage. The thin ones work but are more likely to leak or be punctured. I will say, I use these bags in replace of zip lock. I will put sandwichs and other like things in them for work. Much cheaper that way.
