I've definitely seen some kids with enough violence in them they could have punched a teacher... But probably not premeditated, and they'd probably have taken pride in bad grades. The second they left class they'd have buggered off home because they didn't wanna be there, someone caring about grades doing this? It's insane.

Blaming it on the pandemic is not an excuse for his childs behavior.
Trust me I get, it was hard for me to focus on school work and school related stuff when I went to college. Especially since everything was online, classes scheduling was horrendous, and the amount of hw seemed to tripple since it was online. I wasnt mentally prepared and it took its toll on me.
But you dont see me killing my teachers behind my bad grades. My parent's, especially my mom rasied me as best she could, bith when she was single and remarried and my person wasnt effected by it.
I COMPLETELY underatand the father, but again to use the Pandemic as an excuse is a bad excuse. Its ok to admit full heartedly that he just dropped the ball cause he was a one man band and trying his best for his son and him.

The testimonies of the loved ones were both heartwarming and so terribly sad; she sounded like such a wonderful woman who was treasured by her loved ones. Her murder was so senseless and so tragic that it’s hard to comprehend the motive and that another joined in rather than scoffing and telling his friend to study harder next time. Crazy case

The problem with being a teenager, for some some, is you don’t understand how your actions now affect your future. It’s even worse with males than females. You think every slight is the end of the world. You think you are smarter than the adults around you. You think you are invincible. It’s truly sad to see such young people throw their lives away over something not just fleeting, but as a result of their own actions. It wasn’t the teacher’s fault the one kid got the bad grade.

Seemed like that guy had 0 regret for his crime (the one who posted the “what my Spanish teacher last saw” Snapchat) and just got a thrill from it with the post he made. Disgusting.
What I will say though is that Jeremy is one of few I see who makes a statement to the family, apologizing to them in a way that makes me believe he is truly sorry, for the damage he has done and how it’s deeply impacted the community and family, makes me believe he realizes he messed up, regrets it, and would never do it again. Not because he got caught and has to go to jail, if that makes sense? I don’t see or feel this with many, so that gives me hope.

This comment is not intended to imply all American students take their grades so seriously that they would kill the teacher. To share with you my experience as an English person (as a post graduate student ) in an English University. I was shocked how the three American postgraduate students without exception had the audacity to question the marks our professor who was in actual fact the most humble person I had ever encountered had given them. They were all aggressive, we English simply accepted with respect the marks we were given. 70 plus is a distinction in England they were looking for 90????. I was so disgusted with their behaviour and arrogance to a world renowned academic. Why oh why so disrespectful ? Is this normal behaviour? The time period is 1993 not the present day.

His lack of interpersonal relationships during the pandemic didn't cause him or anyone else to kill, many young people have a lot of their relationships through social media and online entertainment, Mr. Goodale needs to look at other issues in his son's life that likely contributed to his antisocial behavior.

I thought it was very disturbing his arrogant behavior right after the crime. He flicked everyone off and smiled in a deranged manner. This is only 2 years later. I thought Jeremy had a compelling statement. But, he had some basic thoughts but someone rewrote in more touching wording and expanded upon it. MO

Bad enough that you failed a class, but blame the teacher.
Beating someone to death over a HS grade is vicious and infantile.
