For a while, I have been letting pride get to me. I told myself that I could do things without the help of my savior. It's been such a struggle. I'm so glad that I have subscribed to this channel because even after getting a notification that seemed to fit my situation I still did not want to open it- that was until now of course. The title of this video had matched me so mysteriously well. I've been prideful but I'm slowly learning to humble myself unto the Lord and seek help. It takes a humble heart to put aside time to say your prayers and a diligent mind to be able to fall, get back up again and keep going. Thank you guys so much for these wonderful videos! They help so much
I agree with you 100%. Every time these wonderful videos pop up I get the urge to skip them but as soon as I watch them I am instantly grateful that I did. Thank you for your testimony.
I am certainly not trying at all to justify my passed actions but I know for me unfortunately I seem to learn lessons the hard way....I was never more appreciative for and to the Savior when I stepped away from His gospel and found my way back. Pride is a huge stumbling block for us as humans. Now when I pray I ask that I may remain humble in my life rather than being compelled to be humble🤗
This is so good! My hub and I were just talking yesterday about how much we grew from the 2008 financial crisis as individuals, but also as a family. My husband was a full-time real estate investor in Utah when it hit... OUCH! We were literally saved by the grace of God to not go utterly bankrupt, but just barely! There were many tight years in the interim, tight years that built character and perspective and wisdom in us and in our children. We see the hardships we went through as nothing but a blessing, now. Our general philosophy with money has become this: be stingy with yourself, and be generous with others. There is so much abundance outside of material possessions! I have always loved President Monson's talk about living the "abundant life", because it is easily within most of our reaches. And for those that it isn't, we can help.
Thank you for sharing this message of hope. Sometimes, life feels overwhelming and it's easy to forget who we are. Thank you for remembering us that we are children of God, that we matter, and there is no mountain that we cannot climb with the help of the Lord :)
Thank you. We are going through a dark time right now. But, we know we have a lesson to learn during this time. However, our faith will not waiver no matter the outcome.
I heard something similar once: "I am a child of God, special, unique, and worthwhile: Special, because I am a child of God; unique, because no one else on earth is exactly like me; and worthwhile, because, as a creation of God, I know that God doesn't create any junk."
Great message, my favorite part....You can either be humble or be compelled to be humble! I also loved writing down 50 things you are grateful for every day for ten days and getting out and doing something that makes you happy every day for 30 days!❤️
Why is it that when you feel as though you have the answers, you sometimes push aside opportunities to be touched? I Don’t usually stop to view the Hope Works at Home videos...because I already “know” the information that will be shared, that I already have That Answer. I am so glad the promptings were strong enough today that I DID stop scrolling for recipes, and housekeeping tips, and WATCHED this video. It is definitely THE place I needed to be today; gave me new eyes to see today, and offered me blessings I am in need of TODAY.
Me too, I finally watched a Hope Works video (this one) again and it was so good to hear from not a therapist about doing things that you like and learning to love yourself.
It’s strange, but I think answers come to us when we humble ourselves, soften our hearts, and spiritually reach out to the Lord. I can’t quite explain it, but it happens every time I allow myself to do this. And the Lord just waits there to help pick us up, but we need to reach out.
Thank you Richard for your words! I think it is inspiring how you endured 7 years with these trials and didn't give up and experienced gratefulness along the way. I wouldn't want to change who I have become today either but definitely continue to learn from my past mistakes :) All the best to you and your family!
I am grateful that I watched this video. This is what I need to hear and learn! I testify that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives and they love us. What a great message!😢❤
I've been victimized by 2 men with mental disorders who by their actions made it clear that they didn't believe I was of worth or enough or deserved to be loved!! By doing theraphy technices I was able to rediscover my own worth and was told that the lord loved me more than I could imagine!! this has helped my friendships around me!
We are so happy to hear that you were able to rediscover your own worth and the great love the Lord has for you. You are a beloved daughter of Heavenly Father who wants to bless you and help you find peace and joy in this life. Always remember that you can pray to him at any time when you need a listening ear. He will listen and bless you.
Thank you SO MUCH for this. Every single word was needed and together answered a prayer in my heart. I'm going to share this with my husband, who needs the comfort of an example of hope.
There was a time in my life a few years ago that I found myself alone. Depression set in and I considered suicide, but Jesus came into my life and He was all I had. Over a period of time, He lifted me out of the pit, and I realized He was all I needed. If not for God I would probably be dead, but things have gotten better lately, and I will never forsake The Savior! I realize now that I wasn't alone at all, He was there with me all the time. I just had to call on Him and trust Him to help me get through the hardest times of my life.
I've heard Richard's story several times in another setting but am so grateful to hear it anew in a spiritual setting. ♥️ God WILL help us through our darkness.
I have personally found there is a difference between my own trials and the trials that I share with God, if that makes sense. No matter what... life is going to try us all, but wouldn't I rather have purpose, direction, and more importantly hope while climbing out of pits and over mountains, instead of relying on my own strength? Thanks for sharing this, I needed it.
Father finds the ways to teach us that Faith and Obedience are the only true paths to Joy. This is an amazing example for all of our lives. You can change a few dates or specifics, but in the end the paths and the challenges are measured to fit each one of us individually.
Our Savior will never give up on us, I have to constantly remind myself that in hard times - He ALSO went through hard times and loves us and will help us to get through.
Failing doesn't make someone a failure, not succeeding is a step forward and not falling behind. As long as someone is still trying they have not failed, just things did not work out as expected so we need to try again.
I love this...and I so often feel like I am invisible, or not worth it....but when you said God don't make no junk...I had to share on my social media account...because I think someone else needs to hear those words too.
I used to but then after failing everyday forever and every situation with every relationship I know I'm a failure and I just consider myself a survivor and look forward to Heaven one day
Ethan, can you find one thing you haven't failed at, just one? Like you haven't failed at being a survivor! Tomorrow find another! And then the next day another! You, my friend are not a failure!
You are not a failure!! I understand you may feel this way, but just because you feel this way does not mean it is true. We all struggle sometimes, but God believes in you, and does not see you as a failure. He will lift you up. You’ve got this.
The ONLY thing we, as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, have control over AND are invited (under covenant) to do EVERY SINGLE WEEK is to "always have his Spirit to be with us". That, to me, is the ONLY proper measure of any success in this mortal probation. Every other 'good thing' falls under the category of righteous desires and (to me) are not measures of either my success or failures--in the least bit.
YES! It DOES take time and work to get from the bottom of the pit to more stable ground, but it's SO WORTH IT, and then you find out that YOU'RE WORTH IT as well! 😊 As Heavenly Father's son or daughter, you're of the MOST ROYAL heritage, and need to adjust your thinking accordingly! Gratitude, love, respect, grace, empathy, truth, virtue, and many more Godly qualities to cultivate 💗🙏🏻
Look, I loved most of this message, there are a few caveats. Owning and examining past behaviour is crucial and can give much insight into our trials and how to lighten our burdens. The trap is overly blaming oneself for mis-steps that we make as we don't have the full picture. The housing crisis of 2008 is a good example, as this was caused by corporate and bank greed. Self examination of your financial habits is all well and good and should be done regularly, but also people were also a part of a larger whole with the housing crisis one they had little control over.
Very inspiring story. God loves us. He'll provide the way for us if we are doing our best to do good things. ❤❤❤ Thank you! God bless us and our family.
If we have a “Spirit of extravagance and speculation,” we will be humbled. Like Joseph in Egypt, we should live humbly and prepare for famine whenever we have times of plenty.
4:08. “You have to learn how to love yourself.” God, thank you. I needed that!
I needed that to
"The worth of souls is great in the sight of God."

Because the opportunities would feel meaningless.

Instead of sharing this information to the public, hopefully you have reported these criminals to the proper authorities. Have you?
Thank you 😊 Humble, , peace, hope and pray for light of Jesus Christ to deliver us from darkness into light. 😇💕👍💚
Love this story. I hope I can do what Richard did and find things to do each day to overcome failure and discover who I truly am.
Thank you SO MUCH for this. Every single word was needed and together answered a prayer in my heart. I'm going to share this with my husband, who needs the comfort of an example of hope.
I saw this right after i have sent my sister a message that i feel like a failure. Thank you so much for sharing this ❤

Thank you
7:03 I don’t blame God for what bad happened to me, when it’s another person’s doing. I even repent nightly of what mistakes I’ve made before I sleep.
These are always great ❤️ I admire people sharing their stories. We all have something and can lift others by our experiences, how awesome is that? 🙂
Thank you for share with us !!!
Amen brother 🙏 So very well spoken. God bless you all brothers and sisters. The field is white, ready for harvest 🕊❤️
