    Creighton
    I agree that lower your level and explode without an extra step however I gotta tell you sometimes you will see top level guys take a step. Brett Metcalf in his dvds he sells has highlights before the instruction. Sure lookss like an extra step on the high croch, can you clarify, your thoughts appreciated .

    • @CreightonWrestling
      @CreightonWrestling  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re gonna step it should be a split step. HiC is a bit different. You’re typically in the tie, which makes you that much closer to your opponent. You can take big step when you move your opponent.

    Dude, great tutorial! And that penetration shot of yours is wicked fast! Do you have a recommendation for how to modify this for self defense, since the concrete will prevent you from touching down with that knee? If so, I'd be interested in learning it.

      Use the same motion with your head up in the chest. Shoot your hands behind the knees and run them straight over. Brandon Slay hits his the same way but without going to a knee. Well, he does both.

    Dag I honestly really like this guy already why he's explaining to you and showing you exactly what he wants you to do this way you can practice what he's asking you exactly how you want you to do it he has that much face faith in his technique that if you master it will work I also have other coaches that teaches different styles because a 133 pounder doesn't wrestle like a 190 but there are rules to exception that AJ Ferrari and Olympic champion cable Stevenson when he was still in college don't forget that AJ so now you got to win a National Championship and Olympics gold medal before you can even sit down and have lunch with Gable Stevenson funny thing is I think he could have gave him a good match but they never wrestled and AJ was doing all the talking

    Anyone else notice he’s teaching left handed stance against right handed? That’s what I wrestled in HS and it totally changes your neutral game plan when you and your opponent have opposite stances since both wrestlers are in full man. The advantage goes to the lefty heavily though because they wrestle opposite stance 90% of the time and the righty only does 10% of the time

      @CreightonWrestling  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually if I were to update this video I would teach a split step, like Kenny Monday. It takes a lot more coordination but I believe it is ultimately better. 95% of athletes should probably be using this penetration.
      In competition, if you look closely, I was taking a short step too. It’s mainly about your momentum, level change, timing and explosiveness.

    Helo Coach Creighton I have a question. When youre shooting for double should you always have one leg up (when youre holding his legs and one of your knees is on floor) or is it okay to have both knees on the floor when you wrapped his legs? Because sometimes when I fire myself in double I fall on both knees but still secure the takedown, I just wanna see if that is a mistake I should fix or its alright? Thank you for your or anyone's tip in comments if I get any in advance, means a lot.

      Your knee can drop momentarily while you continue to drive through the hips. As long as you are knee running and moving through with your head up and your hips in, it’s ok. But that knee has to come up in order for you to get back to your feet.
