Because he rides cyclocross all winter when others are at rest. 20 races in 2 months. Try it and find out. 1 or 2 degrees, mud, Rain, ice. Takes a huge toll on the body. Different prep and if you think it's easy i suggest you go and watch it sometime.
Also he has team responsibilities in the grand tours and can't just ride for himself like pog can. Pogs the number 1 guy for UAE everytime he pulls the jersey on, that's not the same for MVP often playing lead out and second fiddle to phillipsen
Pog is the freak of nature among freaks of nature. I'm sure many riders would love to show up in peak condition to races across the year, but that's just not how the body works for most professional athletes.
Nice that when rob hatch does the recap the images generally follow the narrative he is giving, when Carlton does them its all over the place due to his verbose ramblings
@@angeluzvan we aren't. Summer lasts from June 1st to the end of August. If you went to school, you'd have learned that September belongs to autumn. They used to have this race in June until they repositioned it post-pandemic.
Maybe if the Vatican will have a similar road cycling history as Luxembourg has. 😂 I think this is one of the main facts why we have a UCI Tour Event (just google Luxembourg Tour de France winners / stage wins) First edition was in 1935 and it is a UCI Europe Tour since 2006, this year is the 84th edition.
It exists since 1935 with winners like Freddy Maertens Bernard Hinault Skjelmose, Hirschi, Almeida, Schleck and even Charly Gaul. So it is older than many other races
Love seeing MvdP on the podium. I still think this guy should be a GC contender. If he could just improve his climbing a bit and get the right team around him he'd be the complete package.
Why do you think it terms of delusions? He's born too big and muscular to be any sort of climber. How would he drop 10 kilos? And why do you think he'd be as good of a climber as Pogacar, Vingegaard, etc. who are naturally smaller and thinner? He's the best CX & classics rider of his generation. Get used to that instead of thinking he should be another person and chase another career.
Maybe if the parcour had minimal mountaintop finishes, minimal steep long climbs, and gave out generous time bonuses for intermediate sprints that come after puncheur climbs.
MvdP has said multiple times he is better suited for one day races, he just doesn't recover well in a Tour de France for example. And he's not built to be a climber.
Kron sprinting = Quagmire giggitying
@@richardjones1777 I'm dead
I don’t think Alpecin is too happy about the GC jersey
Thougt the same. It's like a Lidl-Trek Jersey 😄
Why?
It's horrendous, you could even see it on VDP's face.
That jersey though looks horrible
I don't understand how van der Poel runs so hot and cold. I prefer Pog's philosophy of, you know, showing up for every race.

Great racing. Thx for the coverage 😊
mvdp looks like he joined Lidl Trek team at the end of the race
Even tiny Luxembourg has a tour
Since 1935
Olè…it will be a nice world Champion race to see…hoping also Van Aert can compete at is maximum level 💪🏻
van aert ended his season weeks ago, and even as mvdp fanboy worlds are too hilly, he even said himself he has only a outsider chance
Wan aert got injured in the vuelta
thanks, I wasn't updated on the fact that he had finished the season after the injury at the Vuelta. Too bad!
@@wuakkogemelle yes don't worry can't keep up with everything
Nice finish by Kron, but somebody needs to coach him to get rid of all that side-to-side head movement during his sprint; substantial waste of energy.
Have you Seen Milan sprinting ?😂
Indeed. I have an idea how he got a concussion!
@@Maxibsa ah yes…but his head movement is up and down, not side to side like Kron 😉. Physics.
Im sure he would be much faster with your guidance.
@@-es2bf lol…I don’t know about that, but he would certainly waste less energy during his sprint.
I love the title of this video. The top cyclists in the world aren't in this race, so it's much easier to stand out.

Doubt there will a rewind for MVDP
To hilly Podacar HUGE Favorite!

@andrasszabo1570 check google, the astronomical seasons are the one most of us use, who uses the metereological ones?
