I haven't researched it, but guessing its still a CBRS hotspot just built down to a price.. which is a nice thing lol. hardware has gotten cheaper and that's what this project needs! my main phone is on helium mobile and they use these radios every day. handoff to 5G TMO is a little rough.
In regards to the hand off to the 5g does it have to do with the type of phone? I’ve read that Android phones are the ones having issues, also I also read and if it’s true that they are gonna phase these out to make room for the WIFI ones or better wording is they are gonna push the WIFI units instead of these.
I'll add it to the video ideas list and will see what I can do. its winter time, so a little hard to get access to the small cells for a meaningful update video.
Any update? Your last video on 5g miner was a year ago. I'm interested in getting the miner with the outside antenna, but I'm not sure if it's still worth it now.
Explorer doesnt really say that unless your LoRa miner is offline. in the ARM based miners, usually a new SD card with the helium firmware and about 30 minutes should bring it back online.
yes, the specifics are pretty unknown, but you can absolutely connect at least 6 CBRS small cells to each freedomfi or bobber vie the use of a PoE++ network switch or gigabit switch and injectors. without the use of a switch, you can connect up to three on the main FreedomFI unit via the use of the aux lan ports which were soft updated to allow small cells recently

@@OvalboreTech hi, can you please tell me rewards if compare 3 baicells nova 430H (freedomFi 5G) and The Baicells Nova 436H high power outdoor cubes small cell (freedomFi 5G). Which one provides more reward. I’m confused about when I looked at. Thank you so much
good morning - the 430H is a unit I have. its considered a standard outdoor small cell which has a 2x genesis reward multiplier. the 436H is a high power outdoor which has a current scaler of 4.0x right now (and this changes every day in the remaining genesis), a standard outdoor raked in 36,000 MOBILE yesterday. a high power would have been about 57,000 MOBILE. every remaining day of genesis rewards, these do continue to fall off.

@@OvalboreTech thank you so much for your response. Is it hard to get approval from cpi/sas for setting up freedomFi and baicells requirement. I’ve heard that people waiting long for approval
@ Dont do it, its a scam, chinese scam, telling u to buy expensive equitment and scam you, like they did 4g, now u need to buy new equitmets to be able to get into 5g, dont be a fool.
yep of course. its a standard SMA just like the MNTD miner. the freedomfi is a bonafide IOT miner (HNT) LoRaWAN. the 5G small cells are more or less completely separate, even though they go through the LoRaWAN miner's NIC
this is what happened when i mined Helium. i have to verify my radio which means i have to sign up with the service Helium Mobile. now my phone is locked and doesn't work. also i'm a software developer and familiar with technology.
other than cable managing indoors, systems are all exactly still like this. no hiccups, they pass traffic to my cell phone just fine and $Mobile token made me a dang fortune.
I have 2 antennas set up and they were running great and ever since the merge I can’t get them back online. Support isn’t much help-anyone think they could help it would be greatly appreciated. In the freedomfi app it won’t let me link my wallet and proceed with onboarding and I feel like that could be the issue
Quick question, can you confirm that you were earning Genesis rewards prior to registration approval? And how did you know? Mines up and I'm waiting for approval.
Howdy! after making this video, CalChip was caught with over 300 outdoor smallcells just sitting active but not registered in a single Hex, so they updated the chain to remove genesis rewards for unregistered hotspot small cells (including my second baicell unit I had not had a mount for yet). that was 13 days ago, I submitted registration 12 days ago and they only just started resuming approvals yesterday tl;dr an unregistered outdoor small cell will no longer earn genesis block rewards like they did when I made this short clip. Hope that helps.
awesome! welcome to CBRS genesis. hopefully this stuff pans out and is cool moving forward. certainly hurt a bit more than my original LoRaWAN Helium miner hardware to buy :)
@@OvalboreTech Agreed. I have 5 standard LoraWAN units and it’s paid for itself, I hope with this being 5g technology that it will bring more serious users onboard.
@@OvalboreTech Sorry to ask another question. Did you find that you had to add port forwarding to allow SAS Spectrum Access to connect? My radio has been approved but it's never indicated that it's "connected". Any thoughts would be appreciated.
915MHz LoRa and Helium are alive and well - not sure what you're alluding to. these deal with $Mobile specifically and have spun of so much token they paid off the house I screwed them in to while making this video.
Thoughts on the latest Helium Mobile Hotspot Outdoor unit they just announced?

update in regards to?
they're still installed, still operational and we're somehow still in Genesis.
Helium explorer says that you should probably check on your miner.

Did you move your device to the roof? And are you able to adjust the new height in the app?
no, these dont benefit from being on a rooftop.
yes you can re locate after submittal.
Is there any way to use fredom fi hotspot minor as a small form factor pc
I would imagine so, but have no desire to work on that until its obsolete in its intended function.
You didn't show exactly how you plugged the wires in the antenna can you pls show that.
re watched the video, it does cover how the small cells are connected.

what does it show on your local LAN dashboard and explorer-old? mine stayed up ok
Range and opating frequency ???
see Moso Labs or Baicell webpages for specs on outdoor small cells
Dude, you’re speaking an alien language
yet, you're typing it too. neat!
how fast was shipping from mosolabs?
it took 3 business days. the baicells I got from a different company had sales tax and way slower shipping.
