I think if she were actually good at redirecting questions, her interviewers wouldn't be immediately calling her on it every time.
The interviewers are acting more aggressive after months of Conway's mind games. I heard CNN banned her from the show, which I would to.
AND to anyone who will take this as an opportunity to complain that the liberal media is shutting up the conservative voices. Note only Conway has been banned: Not VP Pence, Trump, or any of the actually good Republicans.
They didn't really ban her, though. They just declined her as a replacement for Pence one time. But they all SHOULD ban her because, honestly, what is the point, really?

I wish Jeremy Paxman was still working for Newsnight, he wouldnt let her get away with it! search for 'paxman michael howard'. He asked a politician the same question 12 times in 90 seconds. The impression youre left with is not so much that Paxman was rude, but how slippery and shady the politician is.

Yea, I really think she is the best possible person for this job (and conversely it is the best possible job for her). Insight Synergie I think the impressive part is how she does it and superficially appears to be given reasonable answers with the appearance of answering the question.
It is a very hard skill to pull it off. Katrina Pierson tried throughout the campaign and she just came off as a cartoonish combative liar, Sean Spiccer attempts to do it and he just seems unconfortable doing it..he stutters over points, his tone goes from aggressive to passive, and that Kelly guy that was all over the news just came off as a combative douche with zero charm......
Conway is infuriating because she has mastered the tone to deliver her lies, mastered redirection, and has a rolodex of lying talking points she can pivot to and deliver with conviction.
The problem with lying so much and being the mortal enemy of basic logic is inevitably you get tripped up and say something so outlandish like alternative facts or make up a massacre that didn't happen which forces everyone to scrutinize almost everything you said a little closer......Which is sort of why she seemed like a dog with her tail tucked when Jake Tapper interviewed her last week. She appears to still try to delfect but was much more careful with her words.

The algorithm she uses to deflect does seem rather simple, a computer could do it. Just pull a key word out of the question and look up a prepared statement that contains that word. No artificial intelligence required, just a simple keyword match, because there isn't any intelligence involved.

And then everyone would laugh and you'd look stupid. You're still kind of answering the question. Too dangerous. Carlos' answer is much more theoretical and harder to disagree with.
Also, if you can work in some moral outrage on behalf of people choosing to remain celibate (whether your college virginity was deliberate on your part or not), now you've put the questioner on the defensive and made it seem like they're attacking people's (possibly religious) life choices.

It makes sense really. Comedians are used to people making up stories, they are used to absurdities and fantasies and extremes, they breath and drink those everyday. Journalists are trained with the assumption that the interviewee has a functioning human brain and human heart and human soul. They are trained to look at reality, not fantasy.

Perhaps you are right but I'm not so sure. I think your premise may be wrong. Her job, I believe is not to convincingly lie to the reporters and journalists and persuade them of her points. Her primary job is to deflect and muddy the waters (conversation). By employing the type of tactics she is using she is giving just enough for Trump's supporters to latch on to and remain loyal. This style frames him as the victim of a vast conspiracy; which his supporters are already predisposed to believe. I would say she may not be brilliant but this strategy that they are employing is damn effective.
I disagree, at least from my perspective as a Trump opposer. This doesn't frame him as a victim of a vast conspiracy, but makes me wonder whether all of the people surrounding him are as vague and "unprofessional" (even though she isn't, because she does what she is supposed to do) as her.
I agree though that she might be effective in convincing his already acquired supporters to believe in any conspirations surrounding him and the government. I personally find that hard to believe, but he's president so my judgment of how people should objectively view him shouldn't be indicative of anything.
