Hi I purchased this pocket projector and have a question. How come I might not have a light. Do I need to plug into phone with HDMI connection? I thought once charged it would light up.
HOLA! CUANDO HICE EL UPDATE, YA NO CARGO MAS, SOLO PROYECTA EL LOGO PERO NO PUEDO ACCEDER AL MENU. YA LE HE HECHO EL RESERT "R" Y CONTINUO SIN ACCEDER AL MENU. QUE PODRIA HACER? GRACIAS
When you connect this to your smart phone will it show anything your doing on the smartphone or does it have limits? I have an iPhone 6 and was wondering if it'll mirror and my iPhone 6 or will it just be able to show photos and videos only from the video app. I would like to steam movies through websites from my iPhone 6 but I'm not sure if it does that. Please answer me ASAP. Thanks
+kurddbz When I connect my android smartphone, it simply shows through the projector what is on my phones screen. Therefore, it mirrors what is on my phone. It should work with Iphone, but I cant tell you for sure bc I have never tried as I am an android guy. Hope that helps.
Hi, I have few questions, 1) Can you still fully use the projector while it is plugged to AC ? I'd like it to project pictures from my computer (Mac) all day long, in order to paint on it. I don't want to charge the battery every two hours, but use it at all time. 2) What additionnal adapter should I buy to project the screen image from my 2009 mac ? Is it "Digital AV adapter" ? 3) Will it read a .jpg picture from any USB key plugged in ? Mine won't display anything while it's charging :-(
I have used my projector quite a bit for over two years. Yesterday when I turned it on I had black and white spots on the screen. When I turned my laptop off the white screen still had the dots (I tried cleaning the screen) but the white screen had dark spots on it. It looks like the lamp may be going out. Can the lamp be replaced? Is there a place on the web to get parts or to get it fixed? I'm over an hour away from a Brookstone store. UGH
1.Yes, you can use it while it is pluogged in so you could leave it on all day. 2. I am not sure on the adapter. I'm not a mac guy. If it has hdmi use that, otherwise look for a hdmi to "whatever your video out is on your mac" adapter. 3. Yes mine read .jpg just fine.
Using the projector for movies has been really frustrating because of audio issues. The speaker in the player is not great and I can't figure out a way to play sound without a lot of hissing. I'm sure it is operator error. Any suggestions???
Carl Crosby Lehmann I don't use the speakers with the projector. I normally have my connected to my phone or laptop and I use a connected bluetooth speaker for my sound.
Yes, you can. If you tablet has a full hdmi out, then you just connect to the projector via a hdmi cable. The projector does not come with an hdmi cable.
I have the miroir model projector but it looks really similar, but mine was 215.00 after tax from best buy...when I got it home I couldnt get it to work on my phone which is a metro pcs G stylo it just says no signal..so I pulled out my old gallaxy s4 and it work but i only have data on my stylo..please help...im hoping its something simple like my phone update...if my phone isnt compatible could someone tell me which pocket projectors can be used with the stylo...if any
thehegt Tr I don't know for sure. I know it is iphone 5 compatible but you need to use an Apple Digital AV adapter cable that is sold separately. They run around $10-$15.
Hi, can you tell me how to get the tripod to stay in place? I got one and the tripod seems to go all over the place. If I pull up the legs, it keeps moving down and then the projector will fall over.
I am not sure. I do not use a Roku. The issue I see is that you only have one hdmi out on the projector and that is used to display the video from the source to the TV. Therefore, I do not believe this will work with a Roku stick. I am not certain of this though. If the stick was usb instead of HDMI it would work for sure. Sorry I can not provide more of an answer than that.
I can get this projector to work when connected to my desktop running windows 10, however it does not work when connected to my asus t300 chi running windows 10 or my housemate's new macbook air. any ideas on why it is saying "no signal" when connected to these laptops but not desktop? I have looked around online, tried replacing drivers, adjusting resolution, nothing is working. I am running them through converters (hdmi to micro hdmi for the asus, and hdmi to thunderbolt for the mac)
+Ashlee Barrera Sorry, I don't know. I do not have a S6 to try it with so I cant tell you. I know it worked with an S5 so I dont see why it wouldnt work with an S6. Keep me updated please.
+Birdknowsbest maybe I'm not connecting it right. All you do is plug in the hdmi cable into the projector and the into the phone and it will automatically connect? Or am I missing something?
+Ashlee Barrera if you notice on the video, I'm using a micro usb to hdmi adapter (the black part sticking out of the tablet around 3 min 30 sec in the video) or correct cable. U need to be using that type of cable.
+Birdknowsbest I saw that, but the cable I have fits into my phone. Is it still wrong? It will charge my phone once it's plugged in, but doesn't mirror
Rosa Guzman The USB connection is a usb out, not an in, so you cant directly connect the flash drive to the projector. If you want to use a flash drive, you need to plug the flash drive into a laptop. Then connect the laptop to the projector via an hdmi connection. (make sure your computer has an hdmi out). Hope that helps. Let me know if you need more info.
No it is not. The USB on the porojector is a usb out. To use a flash drive you need to connect it to a laptop, then connect laptop to projector. You can also connect it from you phone, but you need an adapter if you want to connect an iphone to it
You use the included power adapter. It has an internal battery that it charges. It holds about a 90 min.charge. You can leave the power adapter connected to use for as long as you need the projector on.
Doan Nguyen It comes with an AC charger that you plug into the wall. That is the only way that you can charge it. It connects to the back of the projector. You can have the projector on or off to charge, however it will charge faster if it is turned off.
But the indictor lights for the battery don't come on. And when I try to charge it and turn it on, there is a screen that says NO SIGNAL and a countdown that starts from 10 minutes.
I am not sure why you don't have a light. When you plug the phone into the hdmi it should light up. Remember you need to make sure your phone has an hdmi out
1.5 hour battery. That's really bad if you wanted to show a two hour movie if you're no where near a power outlet. :(. Other than that, this looks like a great little projector.
I don't see why not. I don't have a gaming system. But it has an hdmi in so you should be able to. I would suggest sending your sound to your stereo as the speaker doesn't have a lot of bass.
FULL 1080P?? THATS GREAT THE 80 LUMENS OR LAST YEARS MODELS THEY SAID ACCEPTS 1080 BUT DOWNGRADES IT TO A NATIVE (800*400 SOMETHING). THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE THAT ITS "FULL 1080P"... THANKS!!
Yes, I have found it to be very clear and bright for the price. I should note thought that while Brookstone says this projector accepts a 1080p signal, that 1080p signal gets down converted to the projector's native resolution of 858x480 pixels. The picture still looks great from this tiny projector though.
It is "not" Full 1080 HD... Brookstone has never made a full 1080 native resolution pocket/pico projector, nor has any other company made a 1080 pico projector (as of the date of this comment). At best, the "native" (real) resolution is 720p. They nearly all ACCEPT a 1080 resolution signal, but it gets scaled-down to the Native Resolution for projection. "Native" means the resolution of the internal DLP chip that produces the projected image.
Yet another fake 1080p projector that displays 1995-year phone-resolution... Old TV's are 620 scanlines, this is half the resolution of old TV's. It's a projector from 1995 with LEDS. (It's actually an old 1995 phone screen used as the projector-screen.)
great thanks a lot. sorry to bother you. but will it just plug and play or does it have a app for it in the store to use with? I appreciate your feed back :)
I have problems with the battery of my Brookstone MP300A projector WHERE CAN I PURCHASE IT THANK YOU
Thanx! You are the first ever to respond to a question I have asked!! Your the best!!!
Hi I purchased this pocket projector and have a question. How come I might not have a light. Do I need to plug into phone with HDMI connection? I thought once charged it would light up.
My wife dropped mines...any help with replacement bulb??? projector turns on just no picture
HOLA! CUANDO HICE EL UPDATE, YA NO CARGO MAS, SOLO PROYECTA EL LOGO PERO NO PUEDO ACCEDER AL MENU. YA LE HE HECHO EL RESERT "R" Y CONTINUO SIN ACCEDER AL MENU. QUE PODRIA HACER? GRACIAS
Are you not selling it?
Does this projector work with the iPad mini? I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Thanks so much!
Yes it should. You will need to purchase an apple lightning digital av adapter and then connect to hdmi cable.
When you connect this to your smart phone will it show anything your doing on the smartphone or does it have limits? will this projector run off direct power rather than battery. I have a different projector and it won't run of direct power only battery.
yes
I have used my projector quite a bit for over two years. Yesterday when I turned it on I had black and white spots on the screen. +Nadine Charlsen Idk if the bulb can be replaced or not. Sorry
Does it stream TH-cam videos on iPhone 6?
How long have you had it does it last long
I have had mine for over 4 years and am still using it without any problems.
Im guessing that you had to buy the stand separately?
1.Yes, you can use it while it is pluogged in so you could leave it on all day.
2. I am not sure on the adapter. I'm not a mac guy. If it has hdmi use that, otherwise look for a hdmi to "whatever your video out is on your mac" adapter.

THEY SELL TVS IN CHILE BUT I CAN NOT FIND OUT ANY REVIEW OF THEM! I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE BRAND!
Using the projector for movies has been really frustrating because of audio issues. The speaker in the player is not great and I can't figure out a way to play sound without a lot of hissing. I'm sure it is operator error. Any suggestions???

hey man, can you charge it while using it?
+TheSolidPlaya yup
need to make up my mind between this projector or the brighter aaxa projector, anyone have both?
Can I connect this projector to a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2? Does the projector come with the Hdmi cable I would need to connect my tablet?
i don't see why not. I can connect my phone so a tablet would work.
Yes, you can. If you tablet has a full hdmi out, then you just connect to the projector via a hdmi cable. The projector does not come with an hdmi cable.
How much does it cost
I have the miroir model projector but it looks really similar, but mine was 215.00 after tax from best buy...when I got it home I couldnt get it to work on my phone which is a metro pcs G stylo it just says no signal..so I pulled out my old gallaxy s4 and it work but i only have data on my stylo..please help...im hoping its something simple like my phone update...if my phone isnt compatible could someone tell me which pocket projectors can be used with the stylo...if any
+Justin Chapman I don't know which phones will work with that projector as I have never used it. Sorry.
You mean the projector itself isnt lighting up or displaying a beam?
will it work with iphone 6 ? please let me know asap thanks .
thehegt Tr I don't know for sure. I know it is iphone 5 compatible but you need to use an Apple Digital AV
adapter cable that is sold separately. They run around $10-$15.
Birdknowsbest thanks i ready check the adapter is $45-$65
Hi, can you tell me how to get the tripod to stay in place? I got one and the tripod seems to go all over the place. If I pull up the legs, it keeps moving down and then the projector will fall over.
I'm sorry, Idk . I have never had an issue with it.
ok, thanks anyway
i can't adjust the keystone it is supposed to do it automatically but it doesn't
Can u connect a direct tv hd box to it?
Yes, run hdmi out of the direct tv box and into the projector.
Could I plug a Roku hdmi stick into this?
I am not sure. I do not use a Roku. The issue I see is that you only have one hdmi out on the projector and that is used to display the video from the source to the TV. +Jbowiepowie I dont have any idea. I still use windows 7 bc I prefer it so I'm not sure. Sorry, wish I could help more.
Hey so how do I adjust the brightness on this thing
You dont.
Is this compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S6? I am having trouble connecting...
+Ashlee Barrera Sorry, I don't know. I do not have a S6 to try it with so I cant tell you. I know it worked with an S5 so I dont see why it wouldnt work with an S6. Keep me updated please.

+Birdknowsbest I saw that, but the cable I have fits into my phone. Is it still wrong? It will charge my phone once it's plugged in, but doesn't mirror
Hola pq mi proyector aparece con puntos blancos
I bought one but I can not conect it with a pen drive. Is it possible? Or just HDMI and Iphone???
Birdknowsbest how do you connect it to the flash drive, do you need a seperate adapter? Do you have a video on that? Thanks a bunch.
Rosa Guzman The USB connection is a usb out, not an in, so you cant directly connect the flash drive to the projector. Have you tried adjusting the focus wheel on the side?
How do you charge it??
You use the included power adapter. It has an internal battery that it charges. It holds about a 90 min.charge. You can leave the power adapter connected to use for as long as you need the projector on.
Where do you connect the power adapter to? Like a laptop?? And do you turn the device on to charge it or leave it off?
Doan Nguyen It comes with an AC charger that you plug into the wall. That is the only way that you can charge it. It connects to the back of the projector. You can have the projector on or off to charge, however it will charge faster if it is turned off.

Doan Nguyen I would try to leave it off for a while and plug it in and see if it charges that way.
how much is this??
$300. There is a link in the description to purchase.
Yes, I used a universal tripod that I have for one of my digital cameras
I am not sure why you don't have a light. When you plug the phone into the hdmi it should light up. Remember you need to make sure your phone has an hdmi out
Works perfect with any of the iPads or iPhones, you will just have to buy the adaptors from Apple
1.5 hour battery. That's really bad if you wanted to show a two hour movie if you're no where near a power outlet. :(. Other than that, this looks like a great little projector.
True on the battery, but you can always have it plugged in if you need more than 90 minutes of battery
That's true if you aren't camping and don't have access to a power outlet.
Can you play a ps4 on it?
I don't see why not. I don't have a gaming system. But it has an hdmi in so you should be able to. I would suggest sending your sound to your stereo as the speaker doesn't have a lot of bass.
yes!! play ps4 & ps vita tv
The projected picture has not more than 480p, so don't fool people by only talking about the input resolution!
FULL 1080P?? THATS GREAT THE 80 LUMENS OR LAST YEARS MODELS THEY SAID ACCEPTS 1080 BUT DOWNGRADES IT TO A NATIVE (800*400 SOMETHING). THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE THAT ITS "FULL 1080P"... THANKS!!

I agree. I know this now but didnt 3 years ago when I posted this review. Thank you for the updated info. I appreciate it.

great thanks a lot. sorry to bother you. but will it just plug and play or does it have a app for it in the store to use with? I appreciate your feed back :)
Yes, just plug and play. Glad to help. If you do decide to buy please buy from my amazon store top right of birdknowsbest.com. Thanks
Sure will do :)
