Pirogovo: An open-air museum of folk architecture and everyday life

The Pirogovo Museum, located on the southern outskirts of Kiev, is one of the largest open-air museums in Europe dedicated to the traditions and culture of the Ukrainian people. Officially called the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine, Pirogovo covers about 150 hectares and features more than 300 exhibits, including traditional houses, churches, mills and outbuildings from different regions of Ukraine.
Here you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of rural life, learn about crafts, traditions and folklore of Ukrainians. The museum also often becomes a platform for ethnographic festivals, holidays and master classes, which makes it a popular place for tourists and Kiev citizens.
