@@gudniolafsson5200 It's interesting that Clapton left Blind Faith to go to Delaney Bonnie & Friends (and then to Derek & the Dominoes) Eric left Blind Faith to join DB&F because he thought they were a superior band (and I agree)
Things don't get better than Steve... He was amazing when he was 15 years old and he always will be ..he's been doing this for a lifetime ... And I'm lucky I was 14 when I 1st heard him😉
Bunni ArmaniHe opened for Clapton when I saw him. My son and I thought Fairweather Low was terrible, simply unlistenable. No one paid attention to him, he was that bad.
Saw them both in 1990 two different concerts in Nashville, they were both incredible amazing. Can close my eyes and still see them. Beautiful memories. Thank you for sharing this video and God Bless 🙏🏽♥️🎸♥️
a very hard time for me separation from my deep love but divine music time began getting bad inthe eighties the fifties sixties and seventies were the best years on the planet
Messrs Watts and Cooper on drums. No wonder the whole thing is so tight!!What a line up eh?A The great Steve can sing so well and don't they all look so young!!!
@@kennethj.benton8641 Green wrote & recorded it in 1974, it was only an album cut at the time & wasn't released as a single. Hi Records gave the song to Johnson in 1975.
Great, smoking' version of one of my all-time favorite songs. Three freaking drummers and they meshed incredibly well - without getting in each other's way. Does this concert exist on DVD or Blu-Ray?
I believe you can get a DVD of the concerts from Amazon, etc. , but apparently they're bootleg copies & there are numerous complaints about poor video quality.
@@bluesharpbobny The quality of this from Royal Albert Hall is actually pretty good. But the ARMS concert from Cow Palace, USA, is a bootleg that has trouble with the colours.
Please note that E.C is playing Stratocaster with rosewood fretboard. This is only time that i´ve seen anything like this. He´s normally playing with maple fretboard, more slipperin, he says.
I think you're confusing Clapton with Andy Fairweather Low, since Eric is playing Blackie here. Or maybe it's just a matter of light, that makes the very worn out maple fingerboard of Blackie look like a rosewood one.
So you got yer band and Steve Winwood wants to sit in. Now, he's better than your lead singer. He's better than your guitar player. Don't even think about keyboards. Where do you put him?
Looks like it's been digitally re-mastered ! have never seen a clearer video even when it was originally on MTV ! THANKS so much Bob R for posting this ! Is it out on Video somewhere ?
I seriously think that it doesn’t get any better than this. If it does you’re in heaven 😮
🎤
steve winwood the gold standard of his genre, his daughter is also very talented .
Lilly is absolutely Brilliant...Gorgeous woman too
Stevie one the best singer in the business with power to spare!! Alot of power in his singing!!
Great rendition. .Al Green would love it. All that talent on one stage.
Steve has been performing since AGE FIFTEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He still looks 15. LOL.
Fourteen
Age 8 with his father and brother.
Love Clapton and Winwood together! The best!
no better combo in music that's for sure
Old Blind-Faith sound ✨✨✨

Love Winwood. He may be a small man, but he's head and shoulders above everyone
What a hell of a group of musicians!
All are the best at their position.
Kenny Jones from Small Faces on drums.
Great to see Eric killin it in '83. Such a hero!
I know you know but for those who havent figured it out yet...It gets NO better than this....ever
Had this on VHS years ago. Forgot how good it was.
One of my favorite songs and performances. I keep coming back to listen to this.
I was there, what else can I say... what a night !
Man! Winwood's vocal is fantastic in this recording. The rest of the group is pretty good also. Thanks for posting this performance.Peace!
3 drummers ❤
Roger that, and @ least 2 of 'em are quite famous! 🥁
Glad to have shared a life time with them.
I seem to recall some of the UKs great rockers in the 60s talking about going to see this little kid who sounded like Ray Charles.
One of my absolute fave moments of live music.
An unforgettable experience. They were all there for little Ronnie bless him
Eric the love of my life😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fantastic gig! legends all.
It seriously doesn't get any better than this group of musicians and the ARMS concert. Wow I could listen every night ❤
"Take me to the river"...the river of rock...what a band !!!
I've seen Steve winwood in the '80s best concerts I've ever seen
one of the top artists liked him since spencer davis and he still has it go Stevie

Anyone know who is on keyboard? Since we know it's not Winwood. Maybe Chris Stainton?
Fantastic!
This is awesome - really kicks some serious ass!!!

Steve fantastico
...I seen some gigs - some I've seen have become history - but I would' sacrifice a toe to be time-warped back to this one....
2 toes... even 3.
I dig Steve Winwood. Saw him last summer at Bethel/Woodstock, and he was absolutely fabulous! But never saw him quite this young...thanks for sharing!
Check him out in the 60s/ Spencer Davis - and with Blind Faith. He started young.
OK now I'm feeling old...I was just thinking how much younger he looked when I saw him (I'm thinking 1974?) LOL Still sounds great in 2021!

dont 4-get his band Traffic & thanks remind me spencer davis & blind faith
I am in love with Steve
We never see times like this anymore.

We saw this Ronnie Lane conert @ Cow~Palace in S.F. Dec.1981 in memorie of Stevie my brother🌉🌉🗿🎤🌉🌉R.I.P.
But this is from London. Winwood wasn't in Cow Palace. Joe Cocker took his place.
What a marvelise heart.
Ok
such young men!!
THE song, the performance & that's the happening when it happens.Catch the SHOW when it comes to your town ---
Are you a descendant of Rene Descartes, a great mathematician but horseshit dual cartesian philosopher ?
Winwood must sing as many songs as possible so songs gets another dimension
Huh?
Stevie is covering this in the style that Al Green sings it
Badass 🔥
Good. Now is my chance to hear Steve winwood in a lower voice
Legendary

❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏
Great great song and great preformance. Sang the song myself: Mark Laurens Take me to the river.
Wow
I think Steve and Andy's voices blend very well together, there was another couple of songs during this concert where the 2 of them sang together.
What a cream of the crop musicians.
Yes, that's Charlie Watts on drums.
Great catch, thank you ✌
And Kenny Jones.
When it isn't Kenney Jones
And Ray Cooper
Yeah I caught that! Wow! #RocknRollMashUp So cool
I can hardly think of any voice that expresses more than Steve's. But this is one song that can't be topped by the original musicians, Talking Heads.
It's an Al Green song
