Ooh, around 5:00 reminds me of some atmospheric NES music (and, like, maybe a bit-crushed version of some SNES violin samples or something..)
    Yeah, kinda, 8bit dungeon-synth vibes.
Also I really like the filter-sweep(?) at around 10:30. Especially as it comes back down afterward. (Does the Virus have an envelope polarity inverter toggle? That's how I figure I'd do it on mine.)
Oh, nice descending arpeggio motif around 12:00. Classic and effective.
I thought I briefly heard Carol of the Bells (ish) around 13:00! :)

      Hiya! Glad you like them.
The 5min part got its phasyness from the delay. I think I turned off the distortion and switched to square during that part. Not much going on. You may like this snes remix of castlevania bloodlines! I like the genesis more, but can appreciate it. th-cam.com/video/4J_fip3vC8Y/w-d-xo.html
For the filter envelope, yes it does have inversion. I think it was positive for that section though. It was long attack with maybe 3/4 decay?
Yeah that part around 13 is gnarly. It was hard to know what to play as I was changing the scale and the semitone haha didn't really know where I was.

Got a virus TI2 keyboard and a Rev2 16Voice keyboard... Both are great synths but the FX on the Rev2 are weak... However you can route the output of a second source through the TI2 and assign it independent FX of the 192 available and still have full capability of the TI2.... No other syth has the outright horsepower and sound capabilities of the Virus Ti2....!monster synth...

The multi-timbralness of the virus is great! To have 16 copies of the fx is magical in itself and considering the synth engine is there too is really special. Sounds like you have a powerful setup there.

Thank u for this one. It's like a "Take a break" video for my TI Tutorials folder (all yours of coarse). I did purchase a dedicated controller for OsTIrus. Next step is a 2nd hand Dell Latitude. A piece of perspex sitting over the keyboard, large enough for the controller & a few inches extra to the right for this tiny wireless keyboard+touchpad & Bingo, home made Virus with 15" display. There is a plan to build an Aurdino version but this Dell gets the unit up & running as soon as it arrives. I finally found something/s that might be worthy of that real estate on your Virus. Originally, I was going to say Waldorf Iridium or even Core & then I saw the M. I heard some demos & wow. It even suits the aesthetic of Virus & based from a similar era of sounds & more. What do you recon? Is it worthy?

Ooo are you going to use the touch feature of the latitude? My laptop is a 2 in 1 and it would be kind of cool if it were my main computer. Sounds like quite your virus is quite the contraption. I visited an old electronic store that had some interesting things near LA; you may find some things interesting apexsurplus.com/ The Waldorf M definitely has my attention. Its oscs sound good and pair well with the sm2044 filter remake. They are listening to feedback and updating it still which is nice, but it does have some bugs and I'm worried about them abandoning it like they have their other gear (look at the circuit board of the pulse 2 and you'll see it setup for expansions that never came to be; common story). They're reintroducing the microwave in rack format it seems so they seem committed. Ultimately though, I think it's price. If it were around a grand, I would probably get it. It's 2,400 here!

Unfortunately, the Latitude is a little older than that but still does the job I need it to do for now. My vision for the final version is an Aurdino inside the controller (there's enough air in there to fit one), 10" display jutting out the back of the controller & trackball off to one side. Don't really need a keyboard to operate OsTIrus but on-screen keyboard would do the job if needed. Bummer about the M, it certainly looks the part. I love 2in1's, my next new-bought pc will be one, I love how they undock 4 action, Dell again on that one.

@@AA-ge4uj @AA-ge4uj That is a great idea to put the os inside the keyboard! I know a few people like putting the keyboard on the empty side of the virus but it is very uncomfortable; makes sense to omit that and just use it virtually. Dell made a beveled laptop screen that was very nice and haven't seen anyone else do it (surprising as that was years ago). Would be cool to see how yours turn out!

Gotta sus-out the Aurdino first, never messed around with one of those yet. The DSP guys wrote the OsTIrus code for Win, Mac & Linux so that's one part of the puzzle sorted. Have messed with Rasberry Pi though so there's another option to investigate. A lot of shops here have coin-operated WiFi Internet Boxes out front as a budget internet option for all the Fakebookers. I maintain a few of those boxes for the owners, just for something to do & for exposure to that kid of tech & motherboard. I was impressed with the little guy & what the developers fit onto a board that could fit into my cigarette packet. It'll be a fun journey but the Dell will do what I want in the mean time.

@@AA-ge4uj Wow they covered a lot of OSs. More than Steinberg haha I am sure a DAW has much more moving parts. though. I'm glad they have those boxes for your community. Sounds like a fun place to meet and chat! I don't know how I could live without internet in my back pocket for use at anyplace anytime (for the most part)
