Mit großem Abstand das Schönste Auto Der DTM und ITC. OPEL FOREVER!
What a beautiful car. In love till today.
I loved these V6 models too....The sound was unforgettable in Helsinki street circuit...Mercedes was actually RWD....Alfa & Opel was 4wd
rev limiter 12050
Szymon couldn’t they Alfa get closer to 13,000?
We all wanted touring cars like this because it was great to watch. Mainly though because you got special road car versions! The Calibra 4x4 and Alfa 155 Q4 were born of this.
The Calibra Cliff. My older bro had a Tamiya model for this he bought back in the nineties when I was a small child. To be able to hear how this beast of a car sounds like after 20plus years of wondering is heart-warming to say the least.
Awesome looking and sounding car. Great to see Smokin' Jo still dabbling in the occasional bit of driving too. 👍🏼
Awesome Car, i had the Calibra myself with the C20XE Engine. Best car i´ve ever driven i loved it. I should have never sell it, now i regret that. I would like to have one again, but the good ones that are not tuned with and complete stock have become expensive. The Calibra is about to become a solid classic, especially. as V6 or Turbo.
Nice car. I drove ezadla a Dodsch Gobra.
"... The Calibra is about to become a solid classic, especially. as V6 or Turbo."
@@MrQmie loads died in the UK due to engine transplants to rwd cars or Corsa a +b swaps even seen one in a Renault 5 turbo.
@@kevinjones3900 but at least they tried to build something. Back than in Germany many good older cars or at least a good tuning bases were destroyed to get a few thousand € on top for a new car.
@@MrQmie we had that to all sorts of classic cars left to rot on airfield. Due to scrappage scheme run by the government.
Calibra, maybe the Greatest Opel ever... And also maybe the Best Looking car in Touring Car Series ever. 👍
How the DTM should of stayed. V6 units and 4wd. Bloody awesome era.
Mercedes was RWD
@FAWEXX redline 12,050rpm
It only lasted for 2 years because it got way too expensive, everybody left. As is whats happening in the current DTM with equally impressive cars
what a beauty... the last ITC winner
Got a V6 block for this car at work. Such a compact unit making like 460hp. Really cool.
Ah! Getting goose bumps all over!!!
Daumen hoch für das cult auto calibra
Apparently the 1996 calibra dtm with the cosworth kf engine had a redline of 15000 rpm. crazy!
Just wait till you find out it was an Isuzu engine
One of the best sounding engine
Building by Cosworth
I've had my 2.0 8v since 1992 and its is still going strong. Only thing I need to replace are backing plates and water pump. And because it is so aerodynamic its is so fast for a car with around 130bhp.( factory it had 115 bhp but new performance exaust)
Love it
Qué belleza de máquina 👏👏👏👏👏👍
Was für ein geiles Auto❗🤩
The sound is biblical!
These cars are Called Holden Calibra in Australia very cool video cheers KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺😎🙂✌👍🏁🏁🏁
Holy shit, these were actually 4WD, I\ve always thought they were RWD
merc was rwd while opel and alfa we awd/4wd
Just got a cliff 1996 reuter calibra scale model. Fits nice next to Astra dtm.
❤
opel calibra the best car 😍
THE ultimate Opel IMHO.
It is. It beat Mercedes when touring car racing technology was at it's peak. It's got AWD, traction control, ABS, semi-automatic gearbox and active aerodynamics.
@@armorgeddon "active aerodynamics"... the funny part is that it was Opel Who invented it as early as 1928 on the rocket car, which had the same black and white colors as Cliff Calibra, it got the colors from the RAK 2.
This was a 90deg V6 not the earlier narrow angle engine
Mega Teil.
Guess Honda isn't the only one using 75° v6 engines
Get Honda out of your mind and start saying Isuzu.
C'est Beau ! ;-))
Cool
i cannot understand why they didnt continue this series...
Because the technology installed in these cars was more advanced than F1 cars of the time, and the costs were astronomical also.
Because it cost too much and because of that Opel and Alfa Romeo left the series, leaving only Mercedes
IIRC Alfa announced leaving the series very sudden so that there was no time to adjust the rules to make it cheaper. Opel or perhaps GM itself used the situation to also pull the trigger. It was very sad, although it lead to the development of the great Mercedes CLK-GTR which otherwise would've never existed.
Was a kid when watching those ITC racers on Eurosport and I truly miss the whole deal in ITC. Why can't DTM be more like these machines with a wonderful V6 and FWD. All cars on the public roads should be electric, just to let Motorsport be Motorsport and sensational!
FWD?
FWD ( Four Wheel Drive ) allot of people use the GrandTurismo terminology or at least i believe that's where i first saw it.
But FWD stands from Front Wheel Drive. The regular Calibras got this layout, but there was one AWD with Turbo, and even a 2.0 16v. DTM Calibras had a totally diferent layout. V6 mounted longitudinally and permanent 4x4.
how you can dislike??
That engine is low! Awesome car.
Wait, so it WASNT a glitch in GT3 that this thing revved to fuckign 16k!?
One the saddest things i commited was sell my cali when i got married, my oh my wat silly thing to do.
My parents dumped a ford mondeo well equipped and in a good state to get a kia carens. Man that hurts also
Yes very silly, shame about the car too😜😂😂😂
I love thr Calibra. It's just too bad that they rusted so fast
I couldn't believe 96 spec of Calibra's engine was base from Isuzu Bighorn
Made to last..
Manuel Reuter car
El Calibra Turbo Anda Más....😂Ohhh Wooo
Wasted opportunity to film the special power transfer device that allowed the engine to be moved futher back, to better ballance the car, present only on the 1996 ITC Calibra.
Gran turismo 4🤪
Confronto all' Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI, questa sembra un gabinetto !!!!!!!
24
Wow 2 plus minutes of a car revving it's nuts off, got bored.
War ja nicht gerade viel Action.
