I just don't see the match-ups going in UTs favor. Michigan leads Bama in all defensive statistical categories. In particular scoring defenses is quite noticeable disparity. Bama does average about 20 more YPG offensively (10 more passing, 11 more rushing) and UM averages 1.5 more points per game than Bama. So on paper UM has the noteably better D while both teams are pretty even on O. The big difference between UM and Bama offensively is that UM has a lot more balanced attack. Where as the ballance of Bamas offensive production seems to rest more heavily on how Milroe performs which can be hit or miss.

As a Texas fan, I appreciate Alabama beating Georgia. Otherwise Texas would not be in. I also think there is a decent chance for Texas-Alabama rematch in the championship game. This time would be different from regular season though. The CFP controversy will motivate Alabama greatly. A great team being slighted in some corners will undoubtedly fire them up. If there were a rematch, it would be super competitive and entertaining to watch!

Nobody is going to be happy until the playoffs are expanded, I am glad Bama got in but Florida St. deserves to be in the playoffs too. Out of 133 schools a 4 team playoff is a joke.
Well the ACC is one of the few conferences that kept us from having a 12 team playoff this season!🤷♂️ SEC wanted it to happen for 2023.

@@allecwavy That's my point, I would like to see a complete restructuring of the conferences by region with a builtin playoff schedule and regional champs would go to the playoffs. Every team that participates should have the same opportunities as every other team.

I don’t think we’ll get better games than last year honestly . I think Washington Texas is the most balanced matchup and should be a great game . I think either Bama wins by 2 touchdown plus or it’s a very sluggish 21-17 kind of game with Michigan

As a Texas fan, I appreciate Alabama beating Georgia. Otherwise Texas would not be in. I also think there is a decent chance for Texas-Alabama rematch in the championship game. This time would be different from regular season though. The CFP controversy will motivate Alabama greatly. A great team being slighted in some corners will undoubtedly fire them up. If there were a rematch, it would be super competitive and entertaining to watch!
Matt you know if Alabama would have went undefeated and won the SEC championship with a backup quarterback because their starter was injured the committee would not have left Alabama out. This happened to Florida State because they are Florida state! Ohio lost their quarterback but they still got in 🤔 remember that?

In that scenario Bama would still have a much better strength of schedule and would have beaten #1 Georgia with their backup QB. Not Louisville who lost to Kentucky. Not saying it's fair that's just probably how the committee would see it.

I dont understand how people can be so dumb. Alabama beat a 2-5 Arkansas team by 3. Alabama beat a 6-6 auburn team by 3. They didnt have a good game against USF. And for those using the argument that they didnt put florida state in because they had a 3rd string, remember ohio state won it all with a 3rd string QB for the first college playoff national championship.

I think the committee made a mistake here. They just devalued the notion of having a perfect regular season. I don't care for Florida State, but they got shafted.

if you are talking about the 4 best teams, even after losing their QB, FSU and Bama are pretty much the exact same team according to SP+ which Vegas uses for it's spreads. So it is only a media driven narrative that one team is better than the other. Bama deserves to be in because if you want to win the National Championship, it has to go through an SEC team or there will always be that Asterix at the end of the 2023 Champion's Name.
