I absolutely have been a fan of Crystal's since I was a teen. To me she is one of the most Beautiful women God ever created. Her natural beauty is something few women have been blessed with. Her voice is like honey that just drips with talent. Her speaking voice is unique and her way of interpretation of a song is natural. Her blue eyes and her expression when singing sells every song. There will never be another female singer this talented or beautiful with just a natural gift that transcends genre or style. God created and Blessed her with an amazing career. The camera loves this woman even to this day! I've had the opportunity to meet her several times through the years and she is a very classy, kind and appreciative artist.
I was playing a gig at a friend's house for a July 4th weekend party. Crystal Gayle had moved in next door. I had the very famous the late great Moe Denim playing Hammond B3 organ. Miss Gail came over and said she knew from in her house she could hear a Hammond B3. Instantly I know who she is and I'm standing on my tongue LOL. She was so gracious and her husband. They stayed and made friends with the new neighbors. Later I had the privilege of leading Miss Gail and her husband. To the 4th of July show on the lake they followed my boat with my girlfriend. Great conversations with them we knew so many of the same people as I played bass for Jerry Reed And Brenda Lee.. it gets no better than Crystal Gayle is as good as it could possibly ever get what a singer. And obviously kind spirit.
It’s good to hear her voice just talking and laughing and hear some stories of that of crystal in the early days the public would not know I just wish there was more off it was great to watch

She must have been about 47 here, maybe 1998, based on her saying that she had been married 27 years. I saw Crystal Gayle perform in 1978. She was 27, I was 29. She came out after the performance and sat on the edge of the stage and signed autographs for an hour. When I asked her to sign my program addressed to me, I spelled the particular version of my first name, but I left out an *e* in the middle. She wrote it as I spelled it, but when I realized my omission, she said she would just squeeze the *e* in (where it belonged). I didn't have a camera that evening, but she was appearing at a large amusement park elsewhere in the state the next night and one could see her for the price of general admission. I borrowed a camera I got there in time for the second show, but because it threatened rain, instead of the outdoor stadium it was held in the music hall, which was full. So I waited until the performance was over and went in through the exit doors to see if I could get some photos when she came out on the stage after the show. Things were handled differently at that venue and the security guard was trying to get the few people waiting to leave--one young guy with expensive camera gear was arguing with the guard that he came from upstate just to photograph her. While I was waiting to see what the outcome would be, Crystal came out on stage and the guard dropped the issue, and those who were there stayed. She seemed to love having her picture taken, and even asked me if I wanted her to sit or stand for my photos (I chose standing). At one point I told her that I didn't get to see her perform that evening, but I had seen her the previous night, and that she had trouble spelling my name, which I repeated. She looked upward for a second and then said, "I forgot the *e* " I was amazed that with all the people she saw she remembered that. She is very smart. And of course, it goes without saying that she is beautiful and a great singer. I guess I said it anyway.
