Very helpful! I agree- not a beginners turntable. I have one that has been recapped and it is still fickle. I occasionally have to adjust the potentiometers. How do you lubricate the bearings on the tonearm?
Hi, I have the Denon dp47f with rosewood, with the dl160mc cartridge... Between the turntable and the receiver, a fisher RS1080, I have the project tube Box DS2 phono preamp... This thing blows my mind, it sounds fantastic.. I can connect 2 turntables, and with this turntable and cart it's the best I've e er heard...
Had a DP-51F for years. Unfortunately it had the peculiar habit of frying diodes, rendering it inoperative. Sure miss the sound though.. doesn't get better for any deck retailing @ less than stupid money
Thank you for the helpful and detailed story!
I just bought one from Japan. Hopefully it'll arrive intact.
update?
Did you ever receive your Denon from Japan or was it a scam?
@@At-Imperial-Walker Yes I did and it's used in my videos.
@vibingwithvinyl That's what I thought. I watched a few videos and saw it. Nice.
I have been afraid to order from Japan but I'm glad for you!
I am keeping one of these too!

If the arm just drops down instead of slow steady motion, what could it be?
I'm leaning towards the DP 55L. No electronics to go wonky.
Probably a good move!
Doesn’t the tone arm operated with magnets?
YES, yes it does. I have ran into so many of these that are just broken but if you can get a working model they are a gem!
Those tables in Germany in top condition cost over 2000 euros!!!!
Question...if the quartz takes time to stabilize what is causing the problem? Thanks
Maybe. These units have a fairly beefy motor. My guess is that a slow unit needs some lube and new capacitors.
Hey, you wanna sell that TT? I miss mine and looking for another! LOL 😂
Own a DP-45f, its little brother buts its guts are the same.

Dude, you made such a mess of these adjustment holes that you should read the service manual and make another video about it.
L O L, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately this unit is long, long, long long, long, long long long long gone.
