I so agree that a roadmap would be good - not super detailed schedule, not over-committing, but giving the players an idea what to expect. For example to me it seemed that what they were saying was there would be smaller, more frequent updates INSTEAD of major themed updates? Of course 1.22 will come, but the way I read it it seemed like 1.22 would be the same sort of scale of "smaller, more frequent", as 1.21.7 would be. So clarification would be great!
Have you two played terraria recently? If yes what features from terraria you would like to have in Minecraft. If not, you should try it at least once. It has a lot of revolutionary features I think would fit in and take minecraft to next level. Eg: Having a hard mode that basically resets the game halfway through, microbiomes, etc
Spoiler Warning: Hoping that the creaking leak is a mob associated to the deep dark portal. It would make sense that the skulk sensors and shriekers would exist to protect the deep dark from a hostile "noisy" mob
