Wow! I was lucky enough to see a black bear alone on a hike last year, but this is truly awesome! Amazing to see the whole family and also from the safety of a parked vehicle. Thanks for sharing!
Bridget Hurtuk yea at the time i didn’t know, but better be safe than sorry! Also good to keep distance from wild animals as a general practice, regardless of predator or prey.
Man Outside True, and now maybe someone will see that comment, and realize it too. I’m visiting shanandoah next month, and I’m trying to learn to be more relaxed with the idea of bears. I’m from northern Ohio, no bears here.

Not as aggressive as grizzlies however if Mom has a bad day yes she will attack you then it's your life her and her Cubs also in peril as attack bears are usually shot. Sad but the truth.

For future reference, you should try to move campsites as most bear attacks occur with the second trek into a campsite.
You can be less concerned when you have bear spray! It works wonderfully when used correctly. Beautiful animals. Thanks for sharing!

We were just there today hoping to see a bear (from the car) but were not lucky enough to.
