Yes, as well as all the adults of the film that are now all gone except for a couple oompa loompas. Even Mel Stuart is gone. And Denise Nickerson who played Violet.
I was working on a Pizza Hut commercial years ago and I saw a very familiar face yet couldn't quite place it. I was talking to this man when all of a sudden I blurted out, "Holy Sh!t! You're Mike TV!!!!" It was one of my favorite moments working on set and I could tell he was very stoked to be recognized. Love this film!
+Ryhla Yeah, you're right! Paris Themmen lived up to the meaning of his Willy Wonka character last name! Not to mention, he is extremely baby-faced and hasn't changed a bit except for his baldness. ~Dutch
Thank you Gene for allowing us to be kids a little bit longer. Im now in my 40’s but seeing this movie reminds me of the house I grew up in and feeling good about being home... being a kid.
Funny enough, I happen to know for a fact that she is the oldest of the five Wonka kids! In order of birth: Denise Nickerson - April 1 1957 Julie Dawn Cole - October 26 1957 Peter Ostrum - November 1 1957 Michael Bollner - September 14 1958 Paris Themmen - June 25 1959 I rest my case! ~Dutch
This was the first movie I saw in a theater without either parent present. It still has a special meaning, especially when Charlie wins the factory. It introduced me to the "feel-good" story of rooting for someone who's always been down on his luck. We've all been there, and when we get that special break, some of us can find the parallels between our story and this.
According to Julie Dawn Cole she was the only one that got to keep a ticket and a Golden egg. It was a birthday gift. She has said many times when she sang the I want it now it was her 13th birthday.
First a big BIG R.I.P. and props to the comic genius of Gene Wilder. He will be sorely missed for sure. I had always wondered what the original Willy Wonka kids looked like as adults and for some reason in the back of my head, I thought the mean and nasty Veruka would turn out pretty and cute. ...I was right. It is also how Mike TeeVee ended up in film production. LOL!
Jack Albertson Gene wilder and Denise Nickerson you are unimaginably missed it's too bad you will not be around to celebrate the movie turning 50 next year you will always be alive in the film you gave us everlasting memories and we will never forget you
And Rusty Goffe who played one of the omppa loompas. Though he was just barely an adult at the time. Gene Wilder just past on this week but i know of course this post was written last year and he was still around.
Random Fact for you , I won off ebay some signed pictures from ACTUAL Paris Themmen himself! I also have a signed golden ticket personally signed with my name on it from him , a signed picture that says "Wham youre dead" , and some pictures of them at a reunion in 2009. I treasure these and would love to take them with me to a reunion to show them , and Paris to say I still love them! If anyone knows where they are a reuniting next , I'd love to know!
Emily Roach From what i heard, he only recently became more open about it. I heard from someone he got mocked at times during his childhood by other kids for his role in the movie.
***** 1. The oompa loompa songs were lame and didn't have any style. and didn't use lyrics from the book. 2. The chocolate river looked like a polluted river. 3. That pointless fizzy lifting drink scene. 4. That room was a nut room. Not an egg room and 5. Wonka first says Charlie receives nothing. 3.
wlliamson53 wait in the book Charlie gets nothing ? Cause he said that in the movie before he gave back the gobstopper unless you mean the chocolate factory? So Charlie wasn't meant to get the factory at the end?
None of the songs in the movie were lame. They're all classic, even the Oompa Loompa songs. They were all done well and the fizzy lifting drink I believe was in the book and in the remake although it was not a bad movie and the effects were incredible they added in that whole unnesesary part about Wonka's dad being a dentist and that was not in the book and was a bigger change from the book then anything in the original.
RIP Gene Wilder you will always be remembered for all your work
yeah. now Denise Nickerson(violet Beauregarde)
Yes, as well as all the adults of the film that are now all gone except for a couple oompa loompas. Even Mel Stuart is gone. And Denise Nickerson who played Violet.
One of the greatest movies of all time. Great cast. This movie will be remembered for generations to come.

It's ironic that the actor who played Mike TeeVee is in film production.

Yes 😂
True
That’s not ironic. Ironic would be doing the opposite of what u would expect the character to be. Learn the meaning asshole

Verucca hides her face when asked about stealing the gobstopper xD
Julie Dawn Cole seems like fun to be around. I've always loved her since I was a kid
She's still active.

RIP Denise nickerson.
Wow Julie Dawn Cole is gorgeous.
Augustus looks like he's still wearing the props....
Joshua LaPointe He is
And he looks like the old man from Pawn Stars.
The old man from pawn stars looks like Boss Nass from star wars.

Rogerio Dinardi MINE TOO! The 1971 one was the best!
Yes, that's i am talking about it. Makes my tears roll at the end.
Rogerio Dinardi Me too. My eyes became watery and I felt happiness! (I'm a girl, by the way) Charlie and Willy Wonka are so cute together! ^u^
julie actually kept a wonka bar , gobstopper and the golden ticket
Lauren Willcox it was on Pawn Stars
According to Julie Dawn Cole she was the only one that got to keep a ticket and a Golden egg. It was a birthday gift. She has said many times when she sang the I want it now it was her 13th birthday.
Pawn stars bought 1 wonka bar and the gobstopper
Julie and Denise both still look wonderful
Sadly Denise died last year ... she had a stroke ... Julie and Paris went to visit her just before she passed away

*Cast:* ~all nervously stuttering and babbling on~

My all time favorite movie! Just watched it on ABC Family.
Someone should've asked Peter Ostrum (Charlie) if he was trying to recreate Grandpa Joe's mustache.
Great, thank you (even though the sight of Denise makes me cry now, obviously).

If they do a 50th anniversary celebration, they should do it on June 30. Because that's when it was first release, and that happens to be my birthday.
Best movie memories next to Wizard Of Oz!~
Charlie's hair changed into a dark brown.
OMGthat's my favorite movie

I love that when asked if they kept the gobstoppers or other props, Julie hides her face. ( Because she did keep one :P )
Will always be a legendary classic movie 🙄
Why the rolling eyes emoji?
Awwww blueberry girl!!!
Denise Nickerson (violet beauregarde) looks about 20 years older then the others.
She has just passed away. July 2019.
Of the adult cast, only Gene Wilder (Willy Wonka) and Diana Sowle (Charlie's mom) are still with us
And Rusty Goffe who played one of the omppa loompas. Though he was just barely an adult at the time. Gene Wilder just past on this week but i know of course this post was written last year and he was still around.
Denise Nickerson, April 1, 1957 - July 10, 2019.
Denise and Julie used to battle over Peter because they both had a crush on him.
Very cool see them together again.
Note-Im waiting for this with the 2005 version.
Wow 3 more years it will be 50 years
I'd give anything for Peter Ostrum to shave that stache. Some people just don't age well

Have any of you noticed that Micheal Bollner (Augustus Gloop) isn't in that many Wonka-related interviews???
Emily Roach From what i heard, he only recently became more open about it. I heard from someone he got mocked at times during his childhood by other kids for his role in the movie.

I had Ring tones of the movie..

The movie was ok. But the remake stayed true to the story
+wlliamson53 who gives a fuck if it stayed true to the story. Looking at films solely the 1971 was way better, it had a lot more of an emotional reach
