@@FasBeam As there isn't that much of range anxiety, and I am from NCR and the GDI petrol isn't efficient enough for daily life and if I have to compare I can get curvv ev 55 for the price of curvv GDI + it is faster more refined less maintenance.
So curvv ev is preferably for everybody I guess..

They are lacking in marketing,features and multiple engine options
honestly they should introduce the 1.5 turbo, i know a few friends with L15 turbo swapped jazz, and a couple of turbo honda citys, and man they are FAST, but they did need a lot more reinforcement on the chassis

So the GDI engine is smooth, has way better performance than Revotron, is refined and the midrange is phenomenal. Thats good job from Tata.

Refinement! Something tata absolutely need to focus on yet they don’t and will never do. What hurts me is they’re actually offering really good cars on the surface, looks great, amazing on the safety front yet they absolutely fail in the quality check of their vehicles. Mahindra is not perfect but is miles ahead of tata is this aspect
Guys who cant even afford this are here to listen to critics. Faisal is a professional, he can criticise, its his job. But we as buyers, criticize when you have guts to buy this.

Even though 1.2 GDI is much more refined, it still feels underpowered. They are yet to launch 1.5 GDI 4 cylinder in CURVV. I am sure they will offer it within 6 months after debut in Harrier. That would make it a complete package with engine refinement and power.

I am really amazed by the diesel engine acceleration compared to GDI petrol. In spite of a manual gearbox the GDI petrol is slower than a diesel automatic.

People are commenting that its underpowered and blah blah just one question to you guys where are you gonna race in india ?? Does india have vacant roads like Germany and all to drive cars like sports car ? Even our highways are limited to 120kmph highest limit or lets consider 140kmph to be the highest but most of the time 99% indians drive cars in city traffic only and you will get no place to do 0-100 racings on indians roads with that type of traffic
(No hate to faisal he is just comparing it with other cars) and personally i will go with diesel because its the fuel type that makes sense in india
Horsepower and money are basically similar, you don't need all of it, but it's nice to have it when you need. Going by your statement a 38hp engine should also suffice, anyways if you are planning to buy a Tata car, I would advise you against it, I own a Nexon myself, 2024 model, and the thing is already a rust bucket in 6 months
Point of powerful engine is not going very fast. It leads to quicker acceleration. Quicker accelaration means easier overtakes on highways hence lesser fatigue and stress. I test drove XUV700/ XUV300 and the accelration and punch it gives is a wonderful feeling even inside city. I took Elevate, but i fondly remember my XUV 300/700 test drives.

When compared to creta turbo engine it is slow, but this HYPERION engine is better (atleast in numbers) than the engine (non turbo one) which we get in most of the variants of creta.
No it is not. Try dragging it with a creta NA. Still creta will smoke it. And I am not even talking about creta turbo. This engine sucks in both performance awa mileage.

DKL Tata fans think all those who criticize tata cars are fake and anti national. But in reality Tata motors are just becoming all show no go brand. They just pushing EVs at this point only for the fact that they don't know how to make petrol and diesel engines.
and some popular media houses just hyping their cars for nothing.
And the brand uses the 5star safety for marketing rather than educating customers on what makes a car safe. no 5 star is going to help if the car is only going to stay in service centre. reliability is also a huge safety factor.

Tata has again killed it with the 1.5 Diesel which also comes with the DCT transmission. Last time we saw a DCT in a mainstream diesel car was in Vento/ Rapid. I am coming here after watching DDS's video in which he claims Diesel DCT is the best. Let time decide whats best
On the other hand Petrol is a absolute crap. Still rounds unrefined like the Revotron engine. After watching your video Its a mighty disappointment after a lot of hype about the GDI engine. Only Honda, VW and Hyundai make the best petrol engines. You were right in between - The VW's 1.0 TSI motor is far more ahead of this overhyped Hyperion 1.2 engine despite VW cars being nearly as heavy as Tata. Mahindra an equivalent Indian company is providing World class petrol engines as well Diesels which are already reliable.
Best is to avoid Tata at all costs. I don't want to do unnecessary Deshbhakti if my country's brand cant provide good products. Instead of this bullshit SUV coupé drama get the Hyryder Hybrid or Taigun which are far more better cars

Mahindra's 1.2L tgdi manual with only 250 bar pressure can do 0-100 sprint under 11 secs, whereas this engine has 350 bar pressure but takes 12.5secs, not really power efficient even after years of research. Totally disappointed

Good and crisp review but I suggest, Faisal, that you stop expecting performance from Tata cars. Speed and acceleration are not their strengths, and they shouldn't be compared to Korean or German brands.
Historically, they’re known for making warhorses (OG Safari, Storme, New Safari, Harrier, Nexon Punch) or workhorses (Sumo, Indica, Manza, Altroz).
Tata's focus is on comfort, safety, affordable repairs, etc., which places them in a different league-one that actually suits Indian driving habits and road conditions better.
Their cars are meant to be driven calmly, not by abusing the acceleration pedal, and they pay off in the long run.
Moving forward, I advise you to drop speed tests for Tata cars and instead focus on comfort, which is their real strength. 👍🏻
