@@gipsy45 the loopstation has 3 slots each for input effects and tracks effects labelled A,B and C. In mk2 you can basically use all fx with each slot you have (you can put any effect available in the input effects menu in the slots) but in mk1 some effects are restricted from specific slots (Gran Delay or any delays can't go on A).
I am a fan of Bizkit but I don't like giving him credit for his tracks under the reason of the drawbacks of his underpowered loop station CHOICE. And I honestly cannot understand why he is keep resisting switching to MKII
I'm a complete noob and know nothing about this but I really like the buildup phase too, and it makes an interesting constraint on time, i.e. who can build up the coolest sounds most efficiently. But maybe it's just routine if you're world class like Dlow.
Bizkit obsoletely smacked Mirsa up left and right in that second round and it was one of the most entertaining GBB moments of all time. Such a battler Bizkit is.
Very impressive to see how fast Bizkit had the crowd during his 2nd round Just a snippet of the showmanship possible during that "pressing buttons" phase that could be taken much further
Good builds are a loop artform, and I do believe at least in the producer category they get punished for silence during the build and I think thats a good thing. We should hear what they can and cant do, plenty of loopers can do a clean build so if the build isn't interesting that to me is a skill issue not an event issue.
Yoo! As all the comments are saying, Bizzy is using Mk1 so there's only 3 output and input fx, and the sound design choice u could say it's very based upon the MK1 itself because it is the more "loud" machine because MK2 is more regulated and "tamed" in a sense, of course this is all my opinion :D Bizzy was clear win for me too :D
Since the MK2 era, there have been fewer and fewer individuals like Bizkit who go through the building process. Many start directly with pre-designed sounds, making it feel more like a DJ competition. Of course, I also really like the sounds of MK2, but in terms of live performances, the gradual building process of MK1 gives a better impression. Don't forget that Loopstation is built upon the foundation of beatboxing.(ChatGPT translation)
I understand what you were saying about pre-building the set before. But personally I love watching the track being put together, and the pressure of being on stage impacts the sounds and therefor the way effects are layered on top of it. The skill it takes to have a short build-up and then have a banger track is what makes this so interesting.
Remember watching this live on the stream and was absolutely blown away by Bizkits tracks and prefromance! Some people say they are still looking for Mirsa’s body after this…
"I disagree with what you said about preparing bases in advance on the loop station. We want to witness that process as well because recording and playing them back under pressure in front of the audience requires a skill. The enjoyable part of the competition lies here, in the ability to execute it correctly at the right moment."
For me personally I really like the building of the song and everything watching as it progresses through the stages from first sound to the banger music.
love this reaction and insight!! I in the other hand love hearing and seeing the build up live and seeing where the journey takes us instead of having it prepared before hand but that's just me
Yes Dlow that is a great idea about the setting up before they play so they have there first 5 samples to straight go from... make it happen.... i still want the video of them setting it up though as i enjoy seeing how its done
i care very much for the button pressing build up. its actually a big indicator for me how fast and well someone builds it up. would be a big loss to not judge this section
Mirsa took a long time to build up because of the light projecting onto his loop causing the buttons to look like they aren’t on. For his first round, that was his second take and he still was struggling with the loopstation.
Was GBB2017 (where Saro made Billie Jean) under different rules, or just a different expectation for the quality of individual sounds? I went back and watched a few of those rounds, and 20 seconds to have the entire initial rhythm looped and start on the melody seems more or less average. 2017 maybe wasn't as clean and polished. but as battle or any kind of stage show, seems a lot stronger.
It wasn't anything as technical as today. Back then only Saro's drops would be counted as Drops today. Everybody else felt like they were playing around with a new machine compared to now
I feel like MIRSA should have put more effort into his lyrics in the 2nd round. Saying "you're not gonna win" and "you talk too much" is just so tame and weak - especially against someone like Bizkit, who is known to be very strong in this regards.
for me there is actually a LOT of skill in how to build your track while actually playing something in the background, and also a lot of skill in adding sounds to the mix while crafting is such an art process that gets killed if you can prepare your sounds, you kill the hype of whats going to happend. that type of stuff is why Producer Category exists i think. Great Video as always !
Honestly first drop of second Mirsa round sounds like he took inspiration from Your old Medusa wildcard ;) Sounds very similar in style and I really hope that You will make 2.0 of that track one day.
I think the idea behind allowing some set up before the round starts can be good if done correctly. Perhaps allow a limited amount of time for the set up of the round before the timer starts ticking ? That way they have a full three minute performance as opposed to the set up be part of the three minutes itself.
I agree they should specify the originality of the song. I'm new to this but people say "that's off their album". The battle should be all original IMHO
I feel like everyone should have some effect or noise you have to use and it’s random till you get on stage you you can prepare but need to work that bit in or something like that. Maybe just shared sample
I always thought like you on BizKit, but when he goes on battle mode, damn, he's coooold. Mirsa had nice rounds, and could have won if he had a better capacity on the timing
Bizkit's second round against mirsa has GOT to be the number 1 drop when the top 10 drops in loopstation comes out😤🔥 Watched the livestream that's why I am pretty sure it's going to be first, that or another one of bizkit's second round that I am not going to spoil so I will shut up now💀🤣
@@gabimarius772 woaaah buddy you have no idea what you are talking about, Robin's rounds are masterpieces, him not having many drops doesn't mean he ain't a competitor, sure I am sad bizkit lost even he said he really thought he could've won the whole thing in a livestream but that it all came down to (since Robin and bizkit's styles are so opposite) it all came down to who made more mistakes, robin made no mistakes and bizkit messed up almost his whole first round, judging objectively Robin takes it cause even tho it's less complex than what Bizkit does on the mk1 Robin still didn't mess up and bizkit did🤷🏾♂️
A bit late, but what would you do if you fucked up your buildup phase on video? Would you have to just keep it that way for the battle and run with it? If you get a retry, how is it fair to your competitor who managed it in their first try? And if you have to keep it, it's a mistreatment towards the audience since, unlike when the buildup is done live, it's now SBX's and their rules' fault that the specific performance turned out mediocre in the name of fairness. Either it would be unfair, or it would turn a unfortunate accident into a preventable mistake.
I mean that second round of Bizkit was crazy, but Mirsa should’ve seen that coming when he started talking smack online, that’s what I call facing the consequences but all love over here for both sides! ❤️
have to disagree, i do like to watch the building, cuz sometimes its a fun surprise to hear how they incorporate the layers. the more im surprised on how its used garners more points for style.
Small correction: Bizkit only has 3 output/track effects since he is using the mk1. This makes his performance even greater!
Moreso, unlike the mk2 he cannot use every effect in each slot. For example you can't use Gran Delay on A etc and many more

At this point, everyone has access to the mk2, so if he's choosing not to adapt and use it, that isn't a bonus point.
We knew we were in for a treat when Dlow opened with battling isn’t a thing anymore in loop station 😂
After round 1: "where is the battle?"
You just wait kiddo 😂
I must say I like the buildup phase with the evolution of the beat. It makes it kinda more "natural"
i agree, i would say it is like a magic trick , they have to show all the movements to understand the trick.
Agreed. That build up is crucial for the hype IMO.
Indeed, people need to feel what they are COOKING.

true ☝️
Poor Mirsa.. He's ears😅
bizkit 11
Bro that comeback from BizKit was wild. The man had MIRSA holding his ears but the crowd went crazy for the beef. Absolute BATTLE. Big ups to both
So much fun!!
It's not just one nasty round after another, but also the performance that BizKit is coming with ! BizKit is just a whole new Level of Skill !
In the second round BizKit literally set MIRSA on fire

Would you say the same about Christheodian's elimination last year.
Yes he's reacting to loopstation!
Every track of BizKit is Original, in fact, he came up with this 1. round in a yt livestream
Noooo, I thought he was redoing Rythmind Vs NME from GBB19. I ain’t know a Musician makes Original Music.

Bizkit is the goat for me at this point i love his style and the music he creates

But the drops in 2nd round of Mirsa was fire and whole round was much cleaner than the bizkit’s one, but bizkit had strong lyrics🔥
But the sound design of bizkit’s 2nd round is hard to listen, cause the high frequences
@@space_critic the mix is for sure bizkit's biggest weakness, he already sounded very dirty often when he became champion.
I mean he's French. How strong can he be in English.
Bizkit is cold blooded killah😌 man's just committed murder!! Holy moly he is reigning MK1 like no one else. Such a unique sound design landscape!
Bizkit exploded on the second round and that was enough to take a win
Mirsa definitely had to win overall with the slight advantage
