Nice review man! This is a cheap but yet powerful light I've been watching. I guess the biggest concern about this small continuous lights should be their heat dissipation + fan noise at maximum power. What your thoughts?
I don't notice any loud fan noise but if you get your ear close enough you can hear the fan as far as heat I don't notice a lot of heat from it. I do have 2 of them now and use one for my live streams with a little bit bigger softbox and compared to my PC with a 3080 plus my rgb in my stream room the heat from this is not much even when I used it in my living room studio it never made it hot plus it would be difficult to justify using it at max output if your exposure is correct with your camera you shouldn't be going over 20/30 % depending on your distance and size of your softbox hopefully all that makes sense

Great and informative review of this light, been looking at this light and been considering it. Can I ask how is the light until now? Does it still work well? And may I ask your opinion if this light at full power can just light a backlit subject in the shade with the sun behind them just starting to set or nearing golden hour? thank you for the kind words 🙏 as far as your questions 1. i love the light, i currently own 2 of them now. 2. it still performs well, my only thing is if you put a softbox on it and then put both on a light stand it can be a bit heavy/fall over. 3. i would say no this is meant to be inside where you can control your light, its only 60w (not that bright for outside work imo)
@@SquidHeadJoe ok great to hear, glad to know that they are good still being used until now, yeah I understand the issue attaching heavy modifiers like softboxes since the mount that's built-in doesn't seem to be rated for something heavy to be placed on, Ok I understand, they are pretty much good for probably just indoors studios, I was just looking for something small and portable and just powerful enough to add some contrast to a backlit subject and not really overpower or match the sun while not being too expensive, as the other options like 100w rated ones are great but the price leaves something to consider Anyways appreciate the reply and input, God bless
@@stephencarlm.calatrava8877 no problem and yea neewer has some 100w options not sure on the size but i have seen them on sale a lot for around $150 or less so that might be an option but finding something small but over 60w or around 100w seems to be hard even for me lol but yes your welcome and God bless!
